It is often said that the biggest difference between the rich and the poor has it origin from the mindset.
One major question that always borders me is "are we created with different mindset at birth and what role does environmental factors have to place on mindset of an individual".
Ubong King said "what you see determine the level of your achievement. The rich man orientation differs from the poor man orientation because While the rich man is thinking about wealth creation and self dependence, the poor is busy thinking how evil money is with the notion that money is the root of all evil hence they prefer to be poor than miss the Kingdom of God forgetting that our heavenly father who is rich expect us to take after him. Consider this,
"IS MONEY THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL?"

I would tell you get the quote correct:

"LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL"

THE answer to that question is yes.

We are created with a different mindset and that will depend on the environment we lived in. I agree that there is the biggest difference between the rich and the poor because they have different purposes.

The rich will think about how they can make more money from the other ways. While the poor think about how they will make money to survive. The same is how to make money, but there is a different purpose: to continue to survive for the poor while the rich will not think about that.

Money is not the root of all evil because that will depend on how we treat money. The rich people can spend the money without thinking while the poor think they will allocate the money to survive.

I think the common saying is originally derived from a bible verse. (1 Timothy 6:10)

Its not so literal. As it is a slippery slope and gateway drug to greater evil. For love of money a person might start out borrowing money from friends and family and never paying them back. Then graduate to finding ways to rob or cheat people of their hard earned assets. Eventually, they might wind up murdering people and doing terrible things to earn more income and boost their net worth.

Another slant to the discussion could be whether money is a necessary evil. Could a better system of financial exchange be developed to replace our existing one. Perhaps bitcoin is one footstep on this path. Wouldn't it be great if we could find others.

I dont think so, this is just how the way we think. When we have a strong mentality, we will not think that money is the root of all problem. We will survive of our life, and consider every problems become our challange. This is the simple way of thinking whereas if we have a weak mentality even though we are rich, the wealth will not be with us.  Those who are rich are those who are lucky in their ways and mentally.

One major question that always borders me is "are we created with different mindset at birth and what role does environmental factors have to place on mindset of an individual".
Well, I don’t really think so. People can do evil for any reason, so it is not just about money, it is all about the kind of mindset they have. Let’s take for example, a case of rape, you wouldn’t say that is being done because of money.

But, I do understand people can also do a lot of evil because of money, same way they can be motivated by other reasons to do evil. So, I wouldn’t say that money is the root of evil, it’s just that some people have a very poor mindset and they are very stupid. So, they let themselves to be controlled and misled by just anything they see.

The poor are the most vulnerable people in society when they are the ones who create value for society, they work in places with the most difficult conditions. They are exploited by their bosses and by commercial capitalists.

Poverty feeds the negative thoughts of the poor and makes them think that much wealth is a crime. Rich people are rich people and they hate rich people too. Not every rich person exploits other people's labor. Money has no soul, money only represents material and labor power. We need an education and understanding of money to have the right mindset about money.

In society, Not all poor people think money is the source of crime. They also want to enjoy themselves, to be rich. Many people are poor because they do not have any basis to get rich (eg people with terminal illness, people with disabilities, people with the responsibility to care for dependents).

I think the difference between the "Rich" persons mindset and the "Poor" persons mindset is rooted in what they perceive "wealth" to be.

Poor people value "friendship" and "Health" and "family" a lot more than "Rich" people and you see this, when you look a bit deeper into the facade of the wealth that are being used as a shield for their happiness. A lot (not all rich people) of them will chase money so hard, that they will neglect their family and health and friends.

The root of all evil is when you have to use your wealth to buy your friends and the love of your family.  Wink

We have heard this line so many times before.  This is the world now since the people from centuries ago introduces us to money and the economy. If all we need in the world are just there for the picking, then we wouldn't need money.

I don't think money is the root of all evil, rather, it is "the love" of money that is the root of all evil. The misconception that money is the root of all evil is a propaganda promoted by those who have accepted their financial situation and have found solace in the fact that they are poor, so to console themselves, they quote the scripture to their benefit.

The actual scripture where this quote emanates is from- 1 Timothy 6:10 (from the KJV bible) which says - "For the love of money is the root of all of evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

Take Note of the first sentence, "The love of money", not "money" alone.

It's not the root of evil. Bible tends to exaggerate things when Jesus himself isn't poor. Didn't Joseph pay taxes that's why they end up in Jerusalem and Carpenter during that time is equivalent to the engineers of today? There are also good people who use the money to help. This is a different story but still relates to money that it's not so evil somehow.

"IS MONEY THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL?"

If you believe that money is the cause of all evil, then you should look at the time before there was money as we know it today. The world was much poorer and worse. We always say the same thing about capitalism, but if you look at the statistics, poverty has gone down more and more. I read an interesting scientific article the other day. According to it, in 1990 (at the time of the end of the Soviet Union) 58% of the world population was poor or bitterly poor. In 2020, 30 years later, it is only 12%. And this in a period in which there were several major financial crises.

I have no idea how being poor equates to thinking that money is the root of all evil but okay. The environmental factors when you were born does influence the way your mindset grows largely imo, though it still depends on you, on what you take in and what you don't take in. It's a kind of mix between what you take in and what you were forced to take in (due to different factors such as education, religion, parents, etc.). Now as for money being root of all evil, well, I think that would depend on what mindset you'd grow up with as you said, but being rich and being poor is kind of generalizing the choices a tad bit. It's influenced by a lot of factors, and well, the biggest factor would probably how much money could influence you as a person.

Money is an influence, yes, but who says that it's bad? It's both good and bad in a way since it's merely a medium. It's up to you, in the end, to determine how it influences you.

It's not, it's the people who uses the money so basically the man's malicious heart is the root of all evil. The reason that they say that is because they are jealous of people that have money and they want them to feel bad about it even though there's nothing to be ashamed of it. Always remember that there's no evil or good, it was a construct made by man so they can survive much longer.

1.Money is just a tool, that's being used for redistribution and reallocation of resources.
2.The people, who say "money is the root of all evil" are trying to put the blame on money for their own evil deeds. The people, who are born evil(sociopaths)will always try to find an excuse for their evilness.
Completely removing money as a legal tender/store of value/medium of exchange simply won't make all people in world good, compassionate, altruistic and happy.
Evil people will exist in a world that has no money.
Poor people don't always put the blame on money for their poverty. They lack usually skills, education or maybe are lazy and unmotivated.

Money is not the basis of all evils, but the way money is used or obtained wrongly is what makes it the basis of evil, everything in this life has two sides, one positive and the other negative, take the Internet for example, you can benefit from the Internet in a positive way in communication and in increasing knowledge and work Also, on the other hand, the Internet can be used to promote prostitution, drugs and terrorism, and this is the negative aspect.
Money can also be used for good, as it can be used for evil, so money is not evil in itself, but the way you use and think is what makes it evil or good.

Well it all depends on how you interpret things. Money can be use for good and can also be used for evilness.
"There's no poor people, just poor mindset" that's what I always hear from influencer who talk in public, they refer
poorness as an effect of poor mindset that leads to lack of knowledge and dedication to attain something in life.
I believe its all in our own judgement on how we use money. The question is would you use it in goodness or
for evil?

"IS MONEY THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL?"
No, it is not. Money is not the root of all evil. It is just because humans never stop making more and more money, so they will do everything to have money. That makes them forget that money is just a tool to make them buy something for their lives. But unfortunately, many people do not feel satisfied, even if they already have money in their account. But if you can feel that money is a tool and not chasing more money and grateful, you will treat money as a tool.

The environment is a great factor; poor people feel helpless due to exploitation.
Everyone needs money, it's our tool to keep living, but not everyone is privileged to learn to earn.
Some are desperate, so they end up doing unlawful actions, and the wealthy took advantage of it to keep them at the top.

money is just a tool, it can't spend itself neither creates evil if the people who uses it doesn't do so. but honestly, most of people who think that money is source of evil think so because they have this scenario in mind where money is a tool specifically created by some faction to dominate the world economy (im talking about paper money).
However, we recently see a lot more consumtive lifestyle which are very money oriented and that maybe where these idea about how evil money is comes from, however we've been facing such issue ever since ages ago, it's just we have internet and all these things gets exposed and becomes a lot clearer for people to see.

Today's society is governed by money through money people become rich and poor and in every activity there is corruption through money. Money is not always the root of evil for the poor there are many poor families who live in peace with less money there should be an effort to make money in an honest way without getting involved in bad deeds through money. If you are with a person who always wants to take the whole place of the house for yourself, then you should re arrange the relationship with that friend and keep the distance.

I prefer the question of, what is the root of happiness.
You're rich, you have a large sum of money and big businesses but they all need to be maintained for you to avoid getting broke and eat canned goods again.
Doing all that, can you still make yourself happy while you are too busy making more money? I don't think so.
But it doesn't mean the poor don't have problems but they can be happy with little things unlike the rich.
I always thought there should be a balance for everything but it can't be done. Greed will always be above all. Next to that is selfishness.

Money ain't really the root of evil, it's the usage that makes it look wrong. It was made for our life to be easier when trading goods and I think we should remember that definition.
