No, having bitcoin is not a crime, bitcoin is a crypto currency and having a currency is not a crime. I can not see in terms of what bitcoin is called a crime.

Gun kills bitcoin don't. There might be an idea around this post that they equate bitcoin with a hand gun. It is not just to say that a person had made a crime for possessing bitcoin.

Why would we even consider owning Bitcoin as something illegal? Because it brings more freedom and anonymity. That's ridiculous. Some governments are doing their best to discourage people from buying and using Bitcoin but fortunately their efforts are vain. Young people understand why they should use cryptocurrencies. Let's hope that they will be adapted soon. Some countries have already banned Bitcoin and people still use it because it is impossible to track them.

Not sure, but that's not the purpose we're here for - in the crypto market. There is not any information available on that. But if bitcoin is used in a bad way, it will be unchanging in nature and character.

No. Buying and selling has been made illegal in some countries but possessing one is not.

I don't think so. Who ever said it, he has no clue about bitcoin or any other crypto currency. Really? Like owming a gun? Even a gun can have a license to carry, bitcoin don't have a license to have. So having a money is a crime also 'coz bitcoin can be converted to money right?

I dont think holding or owning a btc can be compared to owning a gun or is committing a crime. BTC is a digital currency, it is money, so why is it a crime? Owning BTC is not a crime and  will never be a crime.

It depends on the law in your residency country. I don't think owning Bitcoin is a crime, at least for now.

No, although some countries prohibits or do not support doing transactions with it. There are no laws yet states that possesion of bitcoin is against the law, and I don't see it to be written anytime soon.

Because if they do, they are like stopping a river flow with paper barriers with bitcoin's innovation.

It's never a crime unless your government banned it and using it is prohibited. It's made to make our transactions convenient so there's really no legit reason that owning bitcoin is a crime.
Yea you're right. Unless there is some kind of punishment or penalty for the using, buying or selling of bitcoin then you are not committing a crime by owning bitcoin. Just because bitcoin hasn't been declared legal does not mean that it is illegal. Without a ban or prohibition being put in place then there is no problem with you owning or using bitcoins no matter how many.

LOL, why the hell would it be a crime?

Please, can you try to re-read what you are writing before posting? Came on guys, it is not so difficult to do so!

It would be a crime to do illegal activities with bitcoin, or with "money" everything that you do that is illegal is considered as a crime.

Owning bitcoin  can't be a crime.  Those some countries are against it because  they really  need time to study  how it works and the technology behind it. Since bitcoin doesn't pose threat in any way so it can't be crime
Exactly, owning Bitcoin can't be considered as a crime because it actually didn't effect to anyone else like drugs or weeds, it's harmless and it's totally useful.
But if you're holding Bitcoins in the country that put it in the prohibition so it's totally a crime because you're against your goverment and they will put you in jail because of that.

If you read the news then you are right, the G20 summit was held and it was said that the Crypto currency is not a monetary means, which means that it is not forbidden to own, print (get)

It depends on the country you are a citizen of, depends on the government and their views and foresight in this area, but I believe that those who go the way of the ban will lose.
