Of course not, having bitcoin is not a crime.
However, you will be deemed unlawful if you hold bitcoin, while the government in your country forbids bitcoin.

Then having money is a crime, if your reason why post this is because bitcoin is being use to process or transact withh illegal doings, then possessing money is like holding a gun too, because before bitcoin was made, money is the main payment for their illegal transactions.

NOPE! The report says that bitcoin or alts is used to bought illegal items like drugs, firearms and the like.
The question is, if you buy those illegal stuff and pay using dollar, does it means that owning a dollar is a crime to?
Bitcoin is a form of currency, owning it and donating it to the charity is good thing, but using it in illegal activities doesn't count it is illegal to.
One thing that just government din't like about it is its anonymity. Unlike cash, the government could track and pinpoint people.

No. Possessing bitcoin is definitely not a crime. Although, maybe some use it for illegal use that doesn't mean having it is not right. People who own bitcoin earn it in a right way. Does having an income like this is a crime ? I don't think so.
It will not a crime, others thinking it as a crime becuse they use it in a bad way or illegal use. It should not be treated bitcoin as a crime it really helping people. It has many uses even we own fiat money it doesnt me a crime.

No. Possessing bitcoin is definitely not a crime. It is not a bad thing to have and possess because we do not have a law stating that it is illegal. Although, maybe some of the users of it use bitcoin for illegal doing or unacceptable acts like scamming people that doesn't mean having it is not right. People who own bitcoin earn it in a right way and right procedure. Does having an income like this is a crime ? Does working hard to achieve something like this a crime ? I don't think so. Therefore I conclude, possesing bitcoin is not a crime.

How can holding a digital currency be a crime !?
NO it's obviously not a crime .
Though it's anonymous and many nations kinda restrict and don't want their public to interact with bitcoins and other crypto currencies directly , holding it wouldn't be considered a crime.

I dont know where this issue comes from but i can only imagine that this is a scheme by other so that everyone will be afraid or cautious in investing in bitcoin. If it is a crime to have bitcoin, they wouldnt even endorse that people have bitcoin

Actually it is a widely spread rumor that BITCOIN is being used by criminals for illegal purposes and for this reason sometimes the one who owns BITCOIN is considered to be a wrong person. But it is not the reality it depends on the purpose for which you are using BITCOIN.

In some countries this might be considered as a crime, but users has got the opportunity to keep hold of it with cent percent anonymity. So, even if it is a crime people can keep hold of it. Another thing is that, there are people who still make use of bitcoin even when they're in countries which were against bitcoin.

Holding or owning bitcoin is not a crime but if your country has declared it illegal and does not support bitcoins, then it can be a trouble for you if they detect you posses bitcoins. Although you can save bitcoin on wallets and exchanges, yet you need to be careful not  to convert them to fiat in a illegally declared bitcoin country.

I don't think that having a bitcoin is a crime but if you use bitcoin in illegal purposes then it would be a big crime your entering at, everything that value can be good or bad depends on how you use it, because having something especially bitcoin is not bad if you use it for good.

This is absurd, how ignorant and reckless this news can be, it is clear that it is just part of the FUDs who are spreading malicious write ups to make people distrust bitcoin, bitcoin has so many opportunity to offer, many potentials and there are so many things you can do because of its anonymity and being digital, honestly, bitcoin can be useful to criminals because of anonymity of bitcoin transactions, but to directly connect bitcoin as owning a gun, is too much. Let us look at dollar, you can buy guns using different kinds of fiats, does it mean owning dollar and other fiats is a crime?

Owning BTC cannot be compared to owning a weapon, and guns can still be legally held for self protection. BTC isn't harmful to anyone and cant kill either, so holding it isn't as illegal

You gave a good example. I remember writing similar thing about science in the past. It is both good and bad depending on how the user is using it. Same applies to bitcoins, it is also used by good and bad people.
