Bitcoin ownership does not violate the law. Bitcoin or any other currency may be used by corporations and individuals for illegal purposes. Owning the cryptos proves that you are a dynamic person, catching up with the trend when the paper money is becoming less and less popular today.

It all depends upon your jurisdiction, some countries will ban it while others will accept it, since bitcoin can be traded anyone in the world ,i do not see any change even if some countries come up with a ban as the people are free to use any exchange they want.

I think it's an exaggeration, you can not put the equal sign between the two. Bitcoin does not kill anybody.

Holding and owning bitcoin is not actually a crime, bitcoin is like an assets of a properties that contributes to the life status become financially stable. And when we say owning bitcoin is a crime, well let us consider that there are some people using for a crime actions, so difinitely, it depends upon the persons who owns bitcoin on how the way they use their bitcoin, rather than that, bitcoin is no liable or liabilities for any bad actions for the people who used bitcoin for any bad or criminal actions. Bitcoin is actually similar to fiat or any real paper money that can be used any time depends on what any purposes that used by a certain person.

I don't think gun is the best parable. Probablg knife is better. Because we can use knife to slice meat, so we can eat the meat. We can use bitcoin as currency so we can buy some stuff. Then we also can use knife to kill someone like some people use bitcoin for crime. However, bitcoin is good or not depends on the users.

It's not a crime  to hold the bitcoin and I don't think any country consider bitcoin holders as criminals and you can also trade to earn more bitcoin and bitcoin is illegal in only four country in G20 countries.

The Canada really makes the way to apprehended criminal and protect people from a crime .owning a bitcoin is not crime if only it is for legal purpose .I do not believe we are humans always doing the way to make things worse is that people are profound web abuses in technology and use them alone for their selfish and fearful actions here up for us whether we use bitcoin for the greater good or bad also.

No. It's not a crime if you are only holding bitcoin. And I don't think any country know bitcoin holders as criminals.
You can also trade to earn more money. You can also buy or sell things where paying with bitcoin is possible. But bitcoin is useful for some crimes and there are many stories about this.  As long as you have not done anything illegal, you are not a criminal.

Of course not, holding crypto is just the same as holding currency, and not only Bitcoin being used to buy something illegal Fiat also being used for that kind of thing, the government need to have a better point of view rather than associate Bitcoin with the criminal activity

For me it's a big No, bitcoin never be a crime in my eyes because it helps many people to reaching everyone's dream in life. It always serves the opportunity and benefits to us.  All of this we can consider as the basis that holding it is not being a crime. Maybe the perspective of some of us is like that because some other people are using btc in wrong way and totally abusing this system.  But in this case the one who did the crime is none other than but people.I believe that  we are the one who are resnposible for everything's gonna happen to our btc.

Owning bitcoin is really not a crime. This technolgy has a mission and vision that helps people to make the easiest and fastest way in doing transaction and it's really help for the financial stability of people. It has a good cause whilw entering to the market. Maybe some of us saying that holding it is a crime because other people are using it in a wrong way. This is means that btc is not a crime and the people on itself are the one who responsible in doing a crime.

Bitcoin is nothing but an alternative currency. Governments may not give their 100% support on it, that doesn’t make it illegal. Yeah one or two Governments have banned Bitcoin in their countries, still that doesn’t mean it’s a crime to hold Coins. Nope, it’s not any crime.

Of course not. It is not a crime, but, it is an opportunity instead. It gives you chance of getting rich if you will know already the business. To others, owning a btc is a blessing. A friend of mine becomes now financially stable since he joined the Bitcoin community.

In my country there is no law that prohibits us from holding or using cryptocurrencies but it is crime to use Bitcoin/any other thing with the intention to evade tax or to get involved with the illegitimate activities.

There is misconception among newbies that no one can track their crypto activity but in fact, government can find you if you are conducting any crime with it.

* Woman busted sending thousands in bitcoin to ISIS.

Using Bitcoin for general purpose is not legal but that's not illegal too so things are still in the gray area in most of the countries.
