Based on my limited experience playing poker, confidence is high online. When you're playing face-to-face with people you don't know, you'd always be apprehensive. Bluffing skills, hiding skills, are intense in a face-to-face poker game, a lot more intense compared to an online game.

I can even remember I couldn't keep my hands from shaking when I was playing actual poker, that's even if I was playing with friends and workmates.

The stakes involved also matter a lot. If it's just small bets, you'd be more confident playing. But if it's a significant amount, your body could show signs involuntarily.

True, it is all about strategy. That's why we should play with various different strategies against the same opponents so it will be a bit difficult for them to know what we do. If we are playing in offline poker, combination between flat gesture and various strategies will be better.

I guess you don't know much about playing poker in person. In general, if you play the lower levels, which are usually $1/2 or $2/5, you don't need to change your strategy. Usually there are already quite a few recreational players (one way to identify them is that they are drinking alcohol at the table) and versus them playing few hands, for value and aggressively is usually enough to win.

That of changing strategy is for tables full of regs and pros, typical of higher levels but you need a lot of money to get into them in live poker.

Think that in low level tables, for example $2/5, a full stack is $500, and you should have several available in case the variance screws you.

It's different among players. Advance players would probably want to play on a real table but beginners would most likely want to hide their inexperience so the online version is the preference. I personally think neither is above the other. I like offline when I want a good ambiance and online when I just want to play as relaxed as possible.

Personally I feel comfortable playing poker or any card game offline. Games like slapjack, crazy eights, blackjack, spades and cribbage are the games I prefer to play offline. And these games we play when friends get together or hangout. Playing these games takes a bit longer time. This is why I don't like to play these games online (mobile or computer).

Online I usually bet on cricket, football, tennis or NBA matches. I find online gambling perfect for these games. But playing card games online makes me bored.
Indeed, playing all types of card games offline is more exciting and also takes longer, making the game more interesting and making you enjoy the atmosphere even more.
Apart from being able to interact directly, we can also read the facial expressions of friends or opponents.
And the weakness we have to accept in playing poker or other cards online lies in time. And online game time is too fast compared to offline games, because the distribution of betting cards and chips is all automatic with little time. And this often happens in a rush due to limited time, which affects concentration.

So what do you think?, how do other players know when I have good cards when playing online?,
They don't really know whether you have a good card or bad card, what they have is just a hunch but there are times where people tend to be too obvious they have a good card or a bad card even when they are playing online.

They may know eventually if he does the same thing most of the time which lead him into a pattern. It wont be hard for experienced online poker players to know what he does especially he is still less experienced than others. At first they will just use guessing or predicting and relying on the cards they have but after several hands, if he keeps the same thing again and again then the pattern will be realized by other opponents.

Is by check and don't call the bet they know we don't have a good card?,
Checking doesn't necessarily mean that you have a bad card.
It can mean a lot of things and it can be bad to assume that someone have a bad card just because they checked
anyway, if you don't call the bet when someone raised, then your only option is to either raised the bet again or to fold.

People like you, I presume a predictable one because you can't hold your emotions when you have good cards.
Yes, this is the problem when I am playing poker offline, I can't hide my emotion when have a good card, my face will definitely light up and my opponent will know that I have good cards. And, Of course it will be different if I am play online, no body know my gesture, and indirectly I can acting like I don't have a good card. But, is there any casino where we playing poker with videos like zoom, or meeting?, if there were, this would be very interesting because even playing online and don't meet with another playing, we can know their face like playing ofline poker.

You are still telling a story with how you bet. If you are pushing all in everytime you play a hand, you're not normally going to win that many chips. Like I said before, read up on some strategy and join the 2+2 forum. They have tons of information available to potential players.
I just heard that forum have 500000 members and 100 different poker forums, but unfortunately, they won't let me in because of the IP address problem. But I will learn how to play well, by trying to join again at another time, or looking for information outside like youtube video or other forum. thanks for that information.

It's better to play poker online, against real players, than offline playing against a programmed opponent. You can maximize your skills if you are up against a real human and the pressure is there if you play online whereas offline, you will just feel comfortable and relaxed.
maybe you mean the opposite?, because when we play online maybe some player is a programmed opponent and is not a real player like offline. I don't know casino out there have a table who have a robot or AI playing there together with real player. And for sure when we play offline, we have to try to play relaxed to hide our emotion, because when we not playing calmly the opponent know what card we have on hand.

Sorry to hear that you cannot get into the 2+2 forum, So much help and info there. I watch a few streamers on twitch as well, Matt staples and Jaime Staples are 2 brothers that I like to watch. They also talk strategy from time to time.

If you're not good in hiding your emotions, you'd probably be better off playing online poker. The downside is, you're not going to be able to observe other players as well if they have a good or a bad card. Poker is a great game for the keen observant because they can notice everything, and with it they can use to play their positions better and possibly defeat everyone in the table.

Online poker offers a lot in terms of comfort and availability. You can play anywhere and celebrate if you get the good cards or just fold if you got the bad and express all your frustrations and no one will know.

I often watch poker videos on YouTube where the player have very good acting to hiding his cards through his flat face. I have seen them being able to win with very bad cards on their hand with a good bluff, all in his chips. So I imagine, and often play poker online, I am very happy if I get a good card and I can't hide it well so just go all in all my chips. So what do you think?, how do other players know when I have good cards when playing online?, Is by check and don't call the bet they know we don't have a good card?, I'm not good at hiding it, sometime when I have double AS, I always all in at the beginning.

Online players can find out that you have good cards by analyzing the patterns in your game. Going all in at the beginning, when you have good cards is a mistake, because the other players will come to the conclusion that you have good cards. Luck is always a big factor in poker and sometimes your bluffs can win, but this won't be consistent. Poker is about analyzing the opponents game, risk management, luck and trying to trick your opponents into thinking that you have weak cards, while raising the stakes.
I prefer online poker because I'm not the most social and extroverted person. I don't know how good I am at having a "poker face".
Why do you try both offline and online poker and then decide which one is better for you.
It all comes to reference since not all would really be having that kind of impressions when it comes to things and just like you have said that you arent that comfortable on facing up other people or simply having some issues about socialism then it would really be just that not shocking that you would be choosing up online rather than on offline, but ill tell you honestly that when it comes to poker or other card games then i do prefer on having some offline set up on which you could really be able to make out that kind of social interaction on which you could be able to see those gestures and behaviors in regarding with other gamblers you do have in the table but of course you should really know on how to read them up.

Poker is really that relying on skills and luck of course on which it is really something that you would really be needing up to consider on the time that you do play on out.
When it comes to choices then it would really be that depending on you entirely.
It's actually true that online gambling can be very convenient for most gamblers, but we all know that the thrill and fun which physical casinos offer can not be replicated by online casinos.

In physical casinos you get to actually interact with other players which I don't believe is possible with the new emerging online casinos.

Another important reason to why a physical casino could be considered more preferable when it comes to games like pokers and blackjack is that, you get the chance to study and predict your opponent's next move through their body language or behaviour, which isnr possible with online casinos.

Having the opportunity to read your opponent's body language is very useful and can come in handy during a game. These are the things that make gambling in a physical casino a lot more interesting.

I also several times watched this on movies.
Is it possible that in an offline casino, that could actually happen? The point is, is it really possible with such a fast trick? Hmm, or maybe I'll go deeper into watching the film.

Regarding the choice between online and offline poker, I am sure, I will choose online. Firstly, because gambling is restricted in my country, I don't want to get into trouble because of that. Of course,  Grin Grin

However, actually, it will depend on each individual's choice in playing poker gambling. Because there are also people who prefer offline, because the euphoria is different, it is more satisfying to see your opponent's expression directly, and you can also beat them. However, there are also those who prefer online, it could be because they have the same reasons as me or different ones. For example, reasons include maintaining privacy so that people don't find out, it's simpler and more practical, and you can manage your finances better compared to doing gambling directly.

I am thinking of the opposite that offline means physical poker tables with real people on it sitting together with you and playing against each other. While for the online type of poker, there are many ways to play poker today with some AIs or bots that might join the table which is programmed by the casino. And that's why I am quite confused about the difference of it between the two based on how it is described by everyone. But I do agree that if we're up against real human and playing it, I prefer more of that.

There have been tables in the past that I've sit but it was long time ago and that's in offline or physical setup and to be honest, I prefer that kind of poker. The tension and emotions are real with that and I think that's what I have been looking for compared from doing it online. But what I like with online is that nobody disturbs me and I get to play anytime I want and anywhere.

But I'd prefer to play it online while I am at home and not in some random areas where anyone can disturb me. That's how it goes for me with the peace that I am finding when I am doing alone. But that peace surely will be broken if most of the cards that I have been holding are losing me but that rarely happens as I believe it's like an equal opportunity that's being shared to the majority of us.

Even though i might be better reading players online, not seeing their faces and it's just based on their tactic, agressivity, when they fold and when they bluff. I would still choose offline if it was easy enough and i wouldn't need to travel much.

I am not best of reading some micro expressions or even determining if someone is lying just by reasing facial expressions. Facial expressions could even distract me, but it's a social game and it's socially interesting to study how people act when they play it. Also i am failry sure that i can bluff pretty well these days, when i am not drinking while playing. And i believe i could just focus on the game in similar way i could do it in online and practice trying to affect their mood to make hasty decisions.

And also poker is way more then gambling to me. Tournaments take so much time that real life human connection element would make matches more appealing to me. In best case my friends will be playing too and we can team up to play out people from the table and reduce competition.

The adaptation to playing online or in person is progressive, but after you get used to it it is a matter of focus.

Playing live poker tournaments may not be as exciting as you see on television, sometimes even hours go by when you have some action and play an interesting hand.

On the other hand, online you can play many more hands per hour and have more entertainment.

Taking that into account, answering which is better depends on each individual on how to approach the game, in any case there are better chances of winning as an online player than in person, and the reason is that the volume of play per hour is greater.

You have to be really, really good to be a winner in face-to-face poker, at least when it comes to poker tournaments.

People who don't know the game well ask very general questions in reference to poker, like yours, and the reality is that each part of the game can be extended in its complexity.

I'm not good at hiding it, sometime when I have double AS, I always all in at the beginning.

You don't need to practice hiding if you are not comfortable with it. On the other hand, you also don't need to practice knowing what's their card per round. Focus on your own way to come out a winner every round. In every round, you will encounter lots of strategies that your opponent can use against you, take note of those and use them on your own if you think that's applicable.

one of the old games that I really like and to this day I still play it to entertain myself and get a little profit.
online poker games are a little different from offline poker and of course everyone here knows the difference. When playing offline poker, we can tell from movements or worried faces that we usually have bad cards, but in online poker we can't see which players really have good cards or have bad card.
all of this is really just about your strategy or skill on how to keep getting small profits from bad cards.
and in my opinion, if you go all in when you have a double AS, you are actually giving a signal to other players that your cards are so good that all your opponents will choose to fold.

I will tell you a little strategy that I often use but you don't need to because each table usually has different opponents and the situation will also be different.
usually I am more patient when playing online poker looking at the playing patterns of other gamblers and when I already know the playing patterns I start to use a strategy to call small amounts even though I only have one pair of cards in my hand and when several other gamblers start to call, I will call again in slightly large amounts just to bluff other players.
I only do it a few times each round and when I get a really good card I will do the same thing call small amounts and continuing to call increases every round and go all in.

It's a little difficult to explain what strategy each person uses because actually it's about each person's skill, even though you will try several strategies from other people, but if you don't understand the patterns of other players it certainly won't work well.
you just need to look at the playing styles of other gamblers so that you can take advantage of them in certain situations.

So what do you think?, how do other players know when I have good cards when playing online?

Depends on your call.

Since you are up against experienced online players, they are somehow used to determining what's on the mind of their opponent. But remember that it's about only their instinct and if you eat the bait, they will assume things that are currently on your mind. Anyway, just keep up with the others as possible as you can while playing online, and don't mind how they will know your next move. Instead, think of how will you determine their next move. Counter them with your strategy.
