You can wait when the price stabilizes or when it dips but if you believe in long term and your okey with the fluctuation of Ethereum I think you should buy at little of it so when it goes to the moon again you dont have any regrets because we really cannot time the cryptomarket.

That being said, if the thought of losing that 5K doesn't make you feel suicidal, I'd say go for it, or like others suggest, wait for a BTC bull run to get ETH cheaper (then again, it shouldn't matter if you're looking for a long-term investment). ETH is a solid crypto and in my personal view there's still a lot of room for it to grow, both in terms of technology and value.
