yes, i think. why? because the members are the real person as another social media already full of "fake person", like twitter and instagram that the followers can be bought but telegram not. i think all of them in telegram are real person.  Cool

although it can not be used as a benchmark for the success of an ICO but an ICO telegram group provides a transparent trust service for the sustainability of the ICO, a place to discuss and know the progress of the project

Telegram is a platform for communication between people, and it has become a news platform too. Telegram is easy to use so it has a large number of users, but I do not think it is the only measure of success or failure.

Totally agree. Let us not discount the concept of ICO projects and roadmap that are needed to accomplish of which I believe is the true measure of success.
There are a lot of scams out there that have a garnered a mass of community support in telegram but are by no means end of the day the same scam as they were.

social media does have a big impact on a project, just look at now a lot of airdrop using social media and most of all is telegram.

Been seeing projects' Telegram groups blow up and I think that's an attribute of success. Personally, when I find a project, I do judge them by their social media presence. How active a telegram channel does say a lot with their demand.

With the rise of groups exceeding Telegram's 50k member cap...what do you guys think?

For me yes! Telegram is on of the marketing strategy of all ICO. If the telegram group of the project has many members, it means that their marketing strategy is good. The more investors, the more percent that you can earn profit by making investment.

I think telegram is also a good sign for an ICO success the more members are joining the more chances that thwre is more buyers or participants that are joining and believing in ICO. When telegram is use for supporting ICO this is sure not a scam Airdrop or ICO. People seek for good ICO platforms and community.

you can see some project have big number members in their channel due to bounty campaign! Not the true value of the ICO

Base on telegram channel, you can see their marketing team. How they answer all question, promote their project, and make sure for investor; they are one of indicator that the ICO is gonna be success or failed.

Personally I don't think so. A crowded telegram group doesn't mean necessarily a big interest in that ICO. As for example if the ICO did an Airdrop the group is obviously crowded but it's not a measure on which to rely to invest!

I don't think that it is a good point to measure. Remember, that many ICOs have bounty and one of the different obligatory actions is to join telegram group for taking free airdrop tokens. It is the only good point to take into consideration is that many persons like free stuff Smiley

I think news, twitter and medium now popular than telegram,  social media website has a lot of power to an ICO , a big group on Telegram could be a sign of potential to make attractive from the investor, but it doesn't mean certainly a success.

I don't think so. In the recent year, media such as twitter, Facebook and telegraph played a great role in promoting encryption. But a powerful telegram is not a new standard for ICO success. There is not a lot of active users in a large number of telegraph groups, many of them are false users, and many have dozens or even hundreds of telegrams. Such users have no effect on the ICO project.

Having a telegram 50k members cap is a big boost for the bounty campaign of ICO to connect with some investors. It is one of the very effective way to attract more investors to track your ICO. But still it depends on the marketing strategy of an ICO if it will accumulate a big amount for their project.

I agree with you. I think that Telegram is so popular because they plan to release a TON, I do not know at what stage this coin is now, but it's really very popular.

heavy bot manipulation in telegram has led some people to believe that no. of users equals no. of investors in an ico which is obviously not true. some icos have previously used bots to increase the no. of participants giving an impression that ico was a sought out project instead it proved to be other way round. Telegram is a fine app but people are waking up to the fact that mere no. of participants in a telegram isn't gonna make a project successful. Seele telegram admin cheated more than a million dollars from investors, so i don't think telegram is any measure of success for an ICO.

Their success was due to the fact that everyone knows such a program as Telegram and therefore it was easy to collect such enormous funds, they knew a lot of people and therefore contributions are large sums

In my opinion Telegram it's not the most important thing, because you can see that there are lots of channels with over 50.000 people who came there just because for an airdrop reward( most airdrops require you to join the telegram group).
It doesn't matter that much the number of people, but the quality of the project.

It is already kniwn and established that if your ICO is not on telegram, you may find it difficult to attract funding. Many ICO investors are all on telegram. Telegram also made it easy for investors to follow on development going on with their project!
