If you are in the winning side, you can double or triple your money fast.
But if you are on the losing end, I guess gambling is the easiest way to lose your money all at once.
Gambling as you said, serves 2 main purposes, entertainment and earn money.
I would prefer more on entertainment as it will give you better feeling no matter what.
But if you chase on earning money via gambling, I don't think you will win on this regard.

Before, I can say I was absolutely wasting my time in constantly gambling but now, it's very different.
Now, I have absolutely control of my gambling habit which was difficult for me before. I have learned from my mistakes and work towards it.
Now, I don't constantly put my gambling habit in check, as I have master not to gamble constantly but once in a while.

^ You are not looking for the negative consequences, probably it will double your money but that's not easy as that. It will double or it will lost all in all. So better for you to set the amount that you can afford if ever what will happen. Other gamblers' purpose is to have a fun activity and while in having fun they also hoping to win at the same time. This is a good mindset if you are in gambling, you don't need to worry the words "addiction". Nevertheless, I hope that you are already aware of what will happen if you become greed in gambling.

I think money is always involved in gambling and we play to win the gamble not just for fun or addiction in the game we always play to win and for the money.
I cannot think of other purposes to play gambling aside from gaining a profit but as we know we cannot win all the time sometimes we are lucky and sometimes not.

Yeah right, it's not only to entertain but also to have some profits. Some people enjoying their gambling activities especially when they've earned

We'd all be hypocrites if we are to mention that we are here solely for spending some time to get entertained and not make money.

Most have made gambling their primary source of income and are very good at it while others are simply hopefuls, trying to get luck on their side and make it to a jackpot and change their life. While that in itself isn't really bad at all, I still feel that chasing money on gambling is still somewhat riskier than creating an investment and make your products/skills work on the market. In that way you'd still get something out of what you invested even if the returns are low and can still sell something from your initial investment and breakeven if your investment fails.

Nevertheless, gambling and hitting the jackpot is easy money, so yeah, the goal would always be to make more money. Rich guys are the only ones entitled, or at least apt to say that they gamble 'for fun.'

I don't know if there is any purpose to gamble, but I think other people will have their own purposes why they gamble. Maybe people playing gambling because they think that they can win on some games so they can get another income from gambling. But that will not be easy because they need to compete with other gamblers and they will depend on the luck itself. We have a different reason why we gamble, many of them seeking the win money, while others only want to get fun.

Each of your questions can be answered with a specific answer although I'll answer from a general point of view. Firstly, there ain't anything that involves earning more or having fun that doesn't have a purpose, for some gambling, has a purpose of making them some extra cash while others it serve as a means to catch fun so obviously, gambling doesn't have a main purpose since it's be utilized differently.

Your second question is kinda confusing since I can't comprehend if you're referring to the forum when you used the word "here" so presumingly you meant the forum then obviously we're all here foe a reason (could be to learn, associate with like minds or earn, etc).
