You own more than $ 1 million, so I believe you will have enough experience and intelligence to be able to choose good projects to invest. To be honest, I've never seen anyone who can hold bitcoin for 4 years and sell everything in 2017, it's hard for it to happen.

you may think its hard because you imagine it your self but for a pro investor they know how investing work  . they will risk and wait , if their asset pump for a long time then theyl be happy and take the profit but not then they can accept the fact that they loose  . money doesnt also show if you have experience or you are already good at investing  . poor or rish , both cant avoid to be unlucky  and loose   . what i only dont get is that he said he was involved on here for a long time but still ask question like he is a a total noob

Its a dream for so many even to think of $1 million of investment and owning the btc is just the best things to do if you own such money. Ideally keep investing in the dips and sell on the high in short term time so that you can make some money occasional as well. Will look to see if any such new project looks promising for the future to hold it.

With the development of the economy, BTC is now gaining more and more attention, and it is not disappointed by the people who chose it. From being questioned at the beginning, to a large number of people investing now, it has become a popular investment product. I first learned that BTC was recommended to me by my friend W (who was the administrator of the Monetary Authority) at that time, and let me also invest, but I thought it was a hype May be cheated (this has become a big pity for me). Later, I started investing in 2013, when I bought 100 BTC and sold it at the price of 16,000 in 2017. Now my friend W has recommended a new cryptocurrency to me. Should I invest?
Yeah, you should invest. Your friend helped you to get approximately $1.5 million worth of profits in four years of time which must be really amazing. How you believed your friend in 2013 but now hesitating to repeat the same now? Is there any specific reasons behind it? If I were you, then I will blindly follow a friend who have helped me to get 15x profits in four years time frame. Unfortunately I had no such friend in 2013 but now I have this community and they are always suggesting to buy and hold.

I am just curious about your buying prices in 2013 and about approximate target prices and time of holding for new buying of bitcoins. If your time permits, please share those which must be helpful for many people here. Honestly I do not need them as I do not have any plans to sell my times in next four years as I may hold them till the year of 2030.

Since you have not revealed the name of the coin in which you are interested then it is difficult for us to give a complete advice, however if your friend knew about bitcoin back then when many people had never heard of it and recommended that you invested in it back in those days then his advice should have an important weight on your decision of whether or not you should invest in this new project that he is recommending to you, however at the end of the day you are the one that is responsible for your money and as such you should do your due diligence before you invest in any project.

Surprisingly, you bought BTC in 2013 and sold them in 2017. It's been a really long time and you sold everything when they went to the top, if what you said was true. I believe you have enough experience to choose new projects to invest at the present time

If you can get the name of this new altcoin then people will drop their different opinions about the project on here, but the truth is new coins can't be trusted, you have to be extremely careful or you can lose all your money

Your friend was probably right back then because he choose the best coin ( Bitcoin) but what makes you think he choose right this time? Some he choose altcoin for you he might be wrong, altcoins are unpredictable
His friend has made a new recommendation for OP and it's not about his friend was saying bitcoin the best investment but as long as the coin has a very good reputation and i think it's not a wrong decision to invest on it. It's better for OP to do his own research again whether it's a good coin or not.

Well, if you are interested, then why not dig in for more details of that cryptocurrency.  There are lots of worthless token projects that claim to be the next BTC or ETH.  I know you are mature enough for this kind of thing since you have been in the industry since 2013.  Or, if you trust Mr. W that much then just invest the amount you can afford to lose.  There is no harm in gambling if you only gamble the amount that will not affect you.

Friend, you owe nothing to anyone. The question is do you want this. If you have increased capital, then leave the money that you had at the start and work further with profit. If you lose everything, you will remain with your own, and if you increase your income, you will be doubly happy.

That will depend on what new cryptocurrency that is recommended to you. If the cryptocurrency is the altcoin, then you should stick with bitcoin, and only use some money to invest in an altcoin. But if that is out of cryptocurrency, and that is a new thing, then I think you can invest with that, but you must search for more information so you will know what kind of investment that your friend told you.

Not yet, some times,I will not invest heavily

Many members above have asked you what coin that your friend is recommending but you are ignoring them, Why not share it here so we can give our own feedback on that specific altcoin right? We are here to discuss we cannot discuss further if you don't give any info about that coin. Well, Always DYOR (Do your own research). If I am in your shoes I will invest on top altcoins because it is low risk and safer. But I am not closing my door on new altcoins with potential.

The market can and will accept new coin that can contribute to the development of the industry, just this year I saw two projects with good potential and they are new coins in the market MASS and IDENA, they never did an ICO which is good and they doing good in the market, although IDENA is still in testnet.

I would request you to do a market research and choose the right set coins before investing in them as market is completely different than what it was back in 2013 or 2017 as the market is more saturated and mature now it's not as easy to get invest and cashout with profit as it was in the past. I would request you to learn and altcoins before investing into them in order to avoid any loss.

Feasible and improper depends on the new crypto project. If investors see that the new project has an opportunity, then it is not wrong to contribute or invest in new crypto. If we look at it in general, this new project is now mostly a scam and a scam. so it is difficult to find projects that can truly turn a profit.

I'm even curious what the name of the altcoin is, if the selected coin is not
1. Litecoin
2. BNB
3. Ethereum

Or other old top altcoins well I suggest you take a step back and do some research, also make sure you invest only what you can afford to lose

Should you always invest in a cryptocurrency because your friend recommended it? You should at least always DYOR especially when you will be investing huge capitals in the currency.

DYOR, that's a must, we can't generalize by saying that the new cryptocurrency is worth as it's not new to us that there are a lot of scam projects in the market, what I can advise is just to always be careful with choosing coin to invest, do the math carefully since 10% or less are the number of projects that are legit in the market.
