I don't bite.
I was looking for something to spend btc on that isn't illegal that would make using bitcoin worth it, like are there "extra content if you use bitcoin" subscriptions or anything cool like that?
You can spend your Bitcoin at Microsoft store. As far as I know, you can't find anything illegal in their store. But I'm not sure if there is any website that will give you anything cool if you spend Bitcoin on their website, though.

You can buy Trezor hardware wallet and some ASIC miner units with Bitcoin only, fiat not accepted. So yes, there are legal products you can buy with Bitcoins only. For non-Bitcoin related stuff this cant work so well though.

Lol, that's cute, but here:

Trezor.

Which miners were you talking about? (I haven't been following the mining scene for years,)

How do I find the merchants? I know the whole gift card thing, but that seems like a long winded way to get something. Thanks for replying.

Have a look at the following site:

http://spendbitcoins.com/places/

Also, Overstock accepts BTC if you are doing internet shopping in the USA.

I think he's only looking for merchants that offer discounts for BTC payments. Not sure whether someone put together such directory, it could be useful.

@OP, just say what kind of things are you looking to buy and your location and I'm sure someone will point you in the right direction.

Usually if you're buying an expensive digital good with bitcoin, no ID is needed, unlike PayPal. That's what I like. You usually have to wait multiple days for ID information.

Almost all alt coins? That might eventually include the services some of them are purported to offer.

There is service called Purse.io where you can buy everything Amazon offers for bitcoin with 15%-30% discount.
All those "services" are is someone with a Prime account buying from Amazon and reselling to you, acting as a middle man.  Often they simply place the order at Amazon and have it shipped to you.

I was wondering that too. If there are some better deals if I would be using bitcoin to buy stuff or something like that. It is really hard to find such opportunities.
Usually it is shop which accepts FIAT and bitcoin, and did not offer special treatment for bitcoin users normally. But you can hit occasional sale sometime.

I purchased a 3D printed part off eBay, a few weeks later the seller came out with an improved version and sold it for btc to previous customers at a reduced price.  You'll find btc only deals like that all the time.

Many stores selling legit goods accept Bitcoin... There's also one or two websites accepting Bitcoin for memberships, but I haven't seen such very often, so far

You can buy stuff without having to provide sensitive information and usually it will be cheaper with bitcoins.

Like your name, address and means of contact?

That is open for debate, in some countries porn is illegal too --> See this link for more detail. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_status_of_Internet_pornography .... To address the OP's question is difficult,

because we do not know what is illegal and what is not in his country. As a example : Absinthe .... A alcoholic beverage is legal in some countries and banned in other... well as a matter of fact, alcohol is

banned in it's entirety in some countries. So yea, difficult question to answer.

Some merchants would give you small discount when paying with bitcoins (or more loyalty points etc), mostly applies to gift cards purchases, but recently JM Bullion (precious metals dealer) started accepting BTC, you can get bigger discount (4% iirc) as compared to credit cards or paypal payments.

Yes and Provident Metals gives the same or a similar discount and I've used them in the past.   But yeah I would think the advantage is mostly in dark market goods.  And altcoins.

I'd say remittances to places like the Philippines. People used to have to do it with Western Union which I think charges at least $25 per transaction. Sending by bitcoin is way cheaper - and if you have to do remittances monthly or weekly, at the end of the year, the saving on fees is a substantial sum of money.

You can buy almost anything with bitcoin but to get something extra over fiat I don't think we have reached that level yet.  It would be cool if one day when you purchase a game or a movie using bitcoin it would open up some hidden extras but that is way off and probably something that will never happen.
