The market is growing and i think is a good idea to sell ETH if you need another altcoins if the price grow enough for you and can get a profit when sell, if not just wait more and maybe you will get more profit, and can buy another altcoin if price is still low for that altcoin.
Is it a good idea in your opinion for me to wait for ethereum price to increase so I can sell it and move the money to more alt coins or should I just move the current amount of ethereum to other altcoins right now? 
At this point, I have determined that ETH is very good and the price increases continuously according to Bitcoin. Therefore I recommend that you should not transfer ETH to other Altcoins because when Bitcoin ma does not increase the price, almost all Altcoins will not increase. Therefore, it is better to wait for stable ETH. 
Maybe you can buy BTG, BCH, and Bitcoin because this coin is now pumping. And even Ethereum also experienced very good growth. You should start trading and investing from now on due to increasing market conditions.
Many potential altcoins around which give more profits more than of what ETH can give to us. If we are not satisfied for ETH profitability there is no reason to stick with, instead to find another coins that we believe it provide us of what we looking for.

Its a really difficult question as we don't know what coins are you talking about Eth is one of the best coins in my opinion and its worth to hold ,you need write here coins you would invest then maybe we could answer your question as you can buy alts and tokens which are going to die soon or late and arent good for long term.

Of course, that is a good idea to wait for ethereum price to increase first before you can sell it. If you still have balance in btc, you can move to the other altcoin because there are so many profitable altcoins that can increase at any time. But you need to analyze to find the altcoin. But don't use your ethereum if you still want to wait for the ethereum price increases because it's better to use bitcoin to trade with altcoin.But it's not a problem if you have more than 10 ethereum so you can use 1-2 ethereum to trade with altcoin and get more ethereum as the profit.

I already sold some of my eth and use the profit to buy some oversold altcoins that i considered ready to rise like pxg.

Just for me, altcoins is far better than ethereum when it come to investment. Why? Look at the price of ethereum its about 150$ and thats need the same amount of mone to get your investment double, isnt it? But when you invested on altcoins which price is far lesser you have high chance of getting a double, triple or even much hicher multiplier to you money.

If you believe in ethereum, you should hodl and wait for it to increase because ethereum has the potential for increasibg its price and is good for a long term investments. If you wait, you can earn much more profit. Don't move or exchange into other altcoins that has no potential like ethereum, maybe you dont get profit if you change to other altcoins.

Good thing you seek some advice here as a newbie. It is better to sell your ethereum at a higher price then keep 50% of it as a long term investment. Buy some altcoins with your 50% profit from your sold eth as a short term trading. There are many telegram, discord group and even follow some enthusiast in twitter that suggests altcoins to buy if they are going to pump
