There are many cryptocurrency wallet softwares like metamask, trustwallet. I'm currently using Trustwallet to store my cryptocurrencies. I heard some people say that it can be hacked!
Can people hack my trustwallet?
Is it safe?
How to protect my trustwallet account?
Thanks in advance ♡
Trust wallet is a non-custodial hot wallet. Which means your private key is encrypted and  stored locally on your device and your device is connected to the internet (Hot Wallet) so technically  yes it can be hacked using malware remotely or hacked locally via social engineering or power glitch. It is safer than an exchange platform but not as safe as a cold wallet like Ledger which is offline.

First time I used trustwallet when they have promoting with airdrop project and each participants install and download with trustwallet app will receive several TWT or Trustwallet coins, there are not any trouble yet with my assets keep secure and I don't think about how many time people loss their assets in trustwallet due their own mistake.

Have been several years I used trustwallet and not any problem yet until right now, maybe found some person with trustwallet hacked after connecting with unknow dapp exchange and possibility ever approving scam token. I think for investor keep securing use trustwallet and don't connect on other network if afraid with their assets hack.

Trust wallet is safe as long as you know how to safeguard your wallets and not connect it to unknown sites to claim airdrops and other stuff.
Although it is a private source wallet, but still it is much better to use this wallet as compare to online wallets.

People usually lose money from trust wallet if they lose their private seed or maybe if they connect their wallets with scam sites.

The safety on trust wallet depends on keeping your mobile device & your recovery phrase safe. Trust wallet is considered one of the most secure hot wallet in the world. Creating an account is easily and security processes are satisfactory. And Trust wallet provided everything, so we can conclude It is safe.
Your tokens are on the blockchain, they require a private key to access, and if anyone gets to know it, your funds will be stolen.

It doesn't matter which wallet you are using and which wallet scammer uses to steal your funds, the crucial thing is the private key which you have to keep secret.

The best storage for crypto assets are offline/cold wallets - your assets are stored outside the internet environment which reduces its vulnerability to attack. However, Trustwallet may be more convenient since it is easier to manage and affordable (you can download it in your mobile phone), and also if you are keeping small funds. In my opinion, I suggest that you write down your password and seed phrase in a book/paper and keep it only where you can assess it. I suggest you avoid keeping your password/seed phrase anywhere in your mobile phone. I personally avoid enabling Google or other browser you may be using to keep or store my passwords. It is your hard earned money, so don't be lazy in writing your password/seed phrase on a paper outside your mobile phone. This can help to secure your funds. However, if you intend to store big amount of money/crypto asset, then you have to go for an offline/cold wallet.
If you are a pure crypto hodler then it's better to use offline wallets. As a hodler you will also buy more coins so your coins are more safe offline but if you are both a hodler and spender, where you sometimes use your cryptos for sending money and buying something then it will be convenient for you to have an online wallet. Trust wallet is one of the trusted mobile wallet but they don't have a support for desktop users.

For this, you may use Exodus or Electrum. Metamask has a support for both mobile and desktop but AFAIK they don't support Bitcoin. Just remember, we only need to store sufficient amount of cryptos on them since they are less safe than compared to offline wallets.

So far I don't have any problems using trust wallet and I used this over 1 year but not totally Ill deposit big money just only a small one because we all know that cold wallets like this is not just totally okay theres some times a bad issues. So all we need if we use this kind of wallets make sure that we can't hold all our money to prevent loss. But for me still using this wallet.

The majority say that Trustwallet is safe and maybe those people who get hacked and do not properly secure their seed phrase, private key, or installed a modded trust wallet app which the hacker can easily transfer the funds to their wallet.

I only installed trust wallet and downloaded it from the play store but I never used it, and only using Metamask since 2017 and never experience and issue or get hacked.

I have been using Trustwallet for a long time, but until now no one has hacked my wallet. Basically, Truswallet is safe to use with devices that support the application. To protect your Wallet or Truswallet you should code and password or other privacy so that no one knows it. thus all devices will be very safe to use including trust wallet

I also have the same sentiments toward the said wallet. I've been using Trust wallet for almost five years and so far, all my transactions have been smooth. I didn't encounter any hacking incidents because I made sure that the application itself have a safe and secure password to protect it. Sometimes, the safety of our funds depends on how we handle them responsibly. Be careful in all the clicks that you do because scammers are just everywhere on the internet.
it is very clear as you said that where the trustwallet has a guaranteed password and only we know it ourselves without having to be known by other people. I think this is very guaranteed trustwallet security

Using trustwallet as a wallet that has Multiple Chain Wallet in my opinion is very safe to use until now, I myself use it and have never experienced the problems you mentioned above. for me to keep trustwallet safe to use, of course, download the original application and avoid fake trustwallet applications. thus we will avoid hacking

I've been using Trust Wallet since 2018 and until now it's very safe. but now crypto wallet users have to be more careful because every time you send a token, you will get some token dusting too.

As long as it saves the seed phrase then it will be safe apart from the password which is hard to create so it won't be easy to crack anyone.
The ones that get hacked the most are those who like to connect their wallets to DeFi that are not clear like new sites that offer cheap tokens, airdrops that always link to their sites so this is vulnerable to being hacked because there have been many incidents of this but they don't realize that it was self carelessness.

But if you use trustwallet only to receive coins and send coins then it will still be safe.
Hacking occurs because of user carelessness who doesn't care about wallet security protection, many cases of wallet users connecting to scam projects or scam coin transactions are very vulnerable to wallet hacking, so it is strongly recommended that every user use a new wallet for that activity so that there is no risk of losing coins from your wallet.

It is also recommended that you have a main wallet for storing assets, the main wallet is never used to connect wallets with suspicious sites, only for storing assets and trading on trusted dex or exchanges.

Getting a hardware wallet or having cold/offline storage wallet is the safest. Online or hot wallets are more vulnerable to online attacks. Trustwallet is an online wallet.

Trustwallet is also close source. You do not know what Trustwallet developers are doing behind. I can not advice anyone to use close source wallet.

Never leave high amount of funds on online wallets.

For safety, get a reputed open source hardware wallet.

This. 100% this.

Closed source is too shady. Crypto stands for transparency. How else would we know what the traps and pitfalls are supposed to be? Just trust the developers and hope for the best? No thx.

I would not completely trust any non-Bitcointalk-endorsed wallet since most people here know what they are talking about and you will not find a community with more technical knowledge about wallets and which wallets are safe. I keep hearing that Trustwallet cannot be trusted, ironically.

If you are using a wallet for Bitcoin, use a wallet like Electrum. Most people here would gladly vouch for that wallet. Although there are others.

But if you need a wallet to store altcoins or use for DeFi then you can use Trustwallet as long as you keep in mind that its better to store long term somewhere else.

regarding Trustwallet there is no doubt about it and in my usage it is safe.
whether the wallet we use is safe or not, as long as we don't use a scam wallet. It all depends on usage.
if the wallet that we use is safe enough from the level of security they use. but in terms of use, we are too careless, it's the same as the wallet has a risk.
use 1 wallet to store our assets. and if you want to connect with any platform, as much as possible send it to another wallet first before sending it to the intended platform. never link the main wallet to other platforms, especially those working on airdrops and bounties.

exactly as you said. I also did the same thing when I was about to connect my wallet. much better to be careful. So I still feel safe using the current Trust wallet. it is important to avoid phishing or such to keep our wallet safe. do not carelessly connect our wallets and do not arbitrarily swap unknown tokens.

Yes, there are so many proof in here that people lost their funds in their trust wallet due to their faults mostly. For example clicking malicious links/emails/images that could lead you to malware injected into your devices, accessing the wallet in public network, your unawareness and etc. It's easy to get hacked nowadays.

Is it safe?
It's safe, but how do you make it safe and secure is vary between each user.

How to protect my trustwallet account?
Thanks in advance ♡
Don't click any suspicious stuff on the internet, secure your assets such as private keys, if it's necessary don't ever connect it to the internet.

correct, Trust wallet can be use for getting reward like bounty, airdrop or any other event. But when it comes to storing large accounts then one must use a good non custodial wallet like Electrum Wallet. In this case, using Trustwallet is a big risk.  Because Trustwallet has been hacked many times and my friend's wallet was also hacked.
