I think it's hard to know. Because during the company chat is active. Admins say everything they ask for and see themselves as something Korean. Sites are now doing at a high level. Every day it is difficult to distinguish fraudsters.

It won't be easy to know which gift campaigns can make money and which prize campaigns are scammed, but at least we can try to find out by looking at the teams that are members of the prize campaign, or we join groups that discuss gift campaigns so we can overview prize campaigns which we will follow which allows it to make money and not be scammed.

There is no difference between scammed bounty and genuine one, that's why, it is very difficult to detect scammed projects. They are also promoting their scammed projects like genuine ones and spending a lot of money so that nobody can detect them.

Scam projects are of different levels of "professionalism", some easier to recognize some more difficult. It all depends on your ability and skill to look for inconsistencies, inaccuracies, errors in the design and technical documentation of such projects.

To choose a bounty campaign, I advise you to look at the status of the manager on this forum. The higher the status, the more reliable. This does not give a 100% guarantee, but most of the scams come from managers with the status of Newbie.

See the ICO rating on sites such as ICOBench and others. Do not join companies with a rating below 60% (3.5 on ICOBench).

Do not join the company from any managers from Amazix.

P.S. In choosing a bounty, this free table can help you: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19fLkDCH0E4uOrYlgqAVixmCIOGupLl8cLRlwttvXsT8/edit#gid=0
ico rating site is not guarante ico campaign and bounty campaign are legit even the ranking is high, but we can minimize the risk for not joining in campaign with low rate

No it is not really hard.
As for me, what I do whenever am been introduced to a particular bounty is that:

I checked the teams behind this project
Check there website
Less concerned about the whitepaper
And also I checked the bounty manager reputation, how many successful bounty has he/she handled.

Well, I can tell you that it hard to detect scammed bounty campaign because most of the scammed project are now doing things in a new which even reputable manager also fall as a prey. Although, the step you mentioned are a good to escape scam project but the best way to be sure of a project in joining a project that already have things going on(having license, already have some online project before switching to blockchain).
This is why I decide to join VITE cause it already listed on exchange.

Bounty campaigns that are potentially scam would give very high amount of reward to attrack many bounty hunters if so you should check if the project and the team is reliable, if the reward is low and the campaign is likely to be scam never join in.
That is true, outrageous and big bounty pool is a red flag and a signal that a project could end up as scam, every bounty i have done with huge pool have all ended up being scam. You have a good point.

It is really hard to detect scammed bounty campaign.  After completing all the requirements to be able to get accepted in a bounty campaign, spending much time to participate in forums and not to mention carrying their banners, completing all the tasks and reports then all of a sudden you will just find out that you have been scammed already.  luckily I am not the only one but to think all participants did the same efforts as well as you did.  But it is really happening, lesson learned and could be just charge it to experience and move on.  If we could only find out at early stage if we were in to scam or a legit bounty campaign.  Who would really know anyway?

It's so disheartning  since so many bounty campaigns are turning out this way. Howbeit,  it has been on my mind lately that there should be a way to devise some mechanism to detect these scam projects flying over everywhere

Some standardization according to me personally before deciding to join a bounty
1. The concept is clear and innovative
2. Real teams, at least have a linked account and a good work history
3. Partnering with big companies or famous Exchangers
4. Good feedback from investors on the telegram, and others

Of the several bounties that I have followed based on the above standardization, I have received a large payment from the bounty

* note, scam risk can occur at any time and need to be routinely analyzed at the ICO

Trust me its really more than hard to detect when a project is purposely to scam others. They most at times comes with all the details and really look appealing than the real ones. The most confusing aspect is even when they are given a higher rating at the various ICO rating sites.

It is very difficult, so the scammers learned to hide their lies that I remember even the case when a scam project went on the stock exchange and was trading quite successfully until it was revealed and scam project was announced. Everything is so disguised that it is almost impossible.

Probably need to say that today it is almost impossible. Scammers learn very quickly and we contribute to this, because all our information is constantly updated and how you need to behave is already known to every scammer.
exactly.  therefore, only market regulation can help us to avoid scam projects. There are no other ways.

I can't remember the number of bounties I have participated in that turned out to be scam. One things I've come to accept is to move on each time it happens because there's nothing one can do.

It is very difficult to detect a scam project at the beginning of the campaign. Because the project looks good and is wrapped so perfectly. But after being in the middle of a trip or the project has finished, it is known that the project is problematic. In my opinion who can know if this project will be a scam in the end? No one can predict that. We may have accepted the fate of each of us and accepted what had happened even though we were careful in choosing projects.

In most cases, it is difficult to differentiate a good project from a scam project, because these scammers ensure everything about the project look so real. Therefore, anyone can fall a victim even with extensive research being conducted about the project.
Yes of course even good bounty managers nowadays handling scam projects so which means good bounty manager were having a hard time also to identify scam projects or not. This is why many investors nowadays are having some problem when it comes to trusting a project to invest. Anyway, well just be positive that the governments on each countries will help to solve this problem even if it means taxing tge cryptocurrency.
Scam projects mainly look for easy ways to promote themselves. Big investors are looking for big bonuses in private sales and scammers use this fact for their own advantage. I don't blame bounty managers because they don't have more info than bounty hunters regarding possibility of scam.

The main problem is that you usually detect it too late and then you are probably taking longer to quit.
Kinda true and this happens most of the time when it comes to ICO
Distinguishing a good project and scam ones is quite the challange you need to analyze the developers furthermore whether they are real thing or not and even if they are doesnt necessarily eliminate the risk involved.
