It seems they don’t really care about this match. Many teams prioritize European competitions and league matches ahead of the league cups or any local competitions they’re participating in. This happens in other leagues too, small teams often win more in this competitions and make it far. They get eliminated at some point by big teams that are focused on winning that cup if they’re not participating in other competitions and don’t see themselves as a contender for the league title. Maybe they don't really care about this match because it can be seen from the line-up that Mazzari fielded because there are more important things that must be achieved.
