I attribute their defensive weaknesses to that. Roma finally scored the goals they should have scored in the previous two matches. It is an extraordinary result for Roma to score 7 goals, especially for the soccer promoted by Mourinho it is not typical.

Honestly before the match I was quite doubtful about what Roma would do in this match especially by looking at some of their matches at the beginning of this season which were not very good for a big club like Roma but they played very differently in this match.
7 Goals completely destroyed Empoli and Roma looked so confident after 2 goals in the first 10 minutes that made them play more freely. On the contrary in this match Empoli were hit mentally from the start when a penalty early in the first half and Renato Sanches' goal 5 minutes later made Empoli lose a bit of confidence which made them crumble even more.
Quite a striking first win for Roma in the 4 matches they had at the start of this season.

Lukaku provides more strength in Roma attacking and he together with Belotti, Azmoun will compete each other the striker position to play together with Dybala. Empoli made mistake just 30 seconds after a kick off and Roma made a lead from a penalty by Paolo Dybala. After that, the match is very easy for Roma and even they proactively decreased intensity, they created danger in most of counter attacking and in a good day, almost all shots from Roma converted to goals. After conceding 3 goals in the first half Empoli started to show a bad game and even looked like they had lost confidence and made the AS Roma players more enthusiastic until the second half started the players became more active in carrying out attack after attack and ended up getting several goals until they finished the match satisfactorily.
From this victory Roma should be able to do better in the future to be able to collect points for sure and improve their standings for this season.

It is an emphatic win for Roma over Empoli that had a bad beginning in Serie A too. Empoli made mistake just 30 seconds after a kick off and Roma made a lead from a penalty by Paolo Dybala. After that, the match is very easy for Roma and even they proactively decreased intensity, they created danger in most of counter attacking and in a good day, almost all shots from Roma converted to goals. The result would be bigger for Roma if cross bar does not rejected two other goals for Dybala and Paredes.

This big win does not help Roma to improve their standing too much but bring their confidence back and Lukaku will become more dangerous after having a first goal for Roma.
