A little talk about INter Milan's current striker Lautaro Martinez. Up to week 3 he has scored 5 goals in the 3 matches he has played in Serie A with Inter Milan this season. Since he first joined INter Milan, every season there has always been an increase in goal productivity. Last season he managed to record 21 goals in 38 matches played in Serie A, and he also managed to record 6 assists.
This season, at the beginning it looks like his goal productivity will increase even better if there are no serious problems he faces such as injuries for example. I think INter Milan are lucky to have a player like him.
Lautaro have a good sharpness in scoring of goals, in three matches at the start of this season he was able to scored 5 goals, which is a good record for now. If he can continue to develop and still in good performance like in the previous match, then I sure his market price also could increase in the transfer market next season, especially if he can become the top score in Serie A. Last season we saw Lautaro below Osimhen in scoring the most of goals, it would be great for Lautaro if he take over the top score.
It's difficult to catch up with Osimhen's sharpness last season, because we know that he transformed into a very good goal season. But I think it will be different this season. Because I see something missing from Napoli's game too.
There was something that pushed him to be as good as we see him today, and that something was Inter's improved play. It's also inseparable from the good play of the players individually, because it's interlinked.
I think this is the best version of Lautaro so far and if he keeps this going for the rest of Serie A season , I think he will carry Inter towards another title or at least fighting for title until last games.
True , last season he really struggled to score or even having chances to score but it looks like winning the World Cup made him more deadly when he has the chance to score. So yea , it would be great for him to rediscover the hunger to score and it looks like he might have found it.
Maybe if we say in the 3 matches we've seen, I agree that this is the best version of Martinez. But again it is not wise to compare 1 full season with only 3 matches. I mean we also don't know how his performance in the future will be like, whether it will continue to be consistent, or better, or even decline and cannot be as good as last season.
But despite all that, I appreciate what he showed during the 3 matches, and that is a positive signal for the future.
