Many people may think that Buffon didn't play all that many games because he is old, I did the same way, I assumed that he didn't play that much and was just a bench player for the past few seasons at least. But then I took a look at it and realized that he actually plead quite a few games. This means this dude was still playing meaningful minutes at 40+ years old.

Buffon is definitely one of the best goalkeepers of his generation and not only that he actually saw two or even maybe three different generations come and go while he played. That's a good situation for sure, I could easily say that he is in the goalkeeper hall of fame without a doubt, he had an amazing career and it could be considered very well for anyone.

I know Buffon is getting old and he is a 45-year-old player, I think Buffon could even play for more years in Prama because as a goalkeeper he could even play at this age but the I think Buffon got retired because Buffon and his team, Prama couldn't get into Serie A in this season, otherwise he could even play for another season there.

Gianluigi Buffon made 45 appearances for Parma in Serie B in the last two seasons. Last season Gianluigi Buffon made 19 appearances for Parma, which is a lot for a goalkeeper of his age. But now the final decision has been made, so Gianluigi Buffon has retired.

Here are just Gianluigi Buffon's stats by club.

While it is true that player departures and expected transfers will provide issues for Napoli this season it is necessary to take into account the inherent unpredictability of transfer rumours. Since Victor Osimhen contract with Napoli is still in effect and there are no trustworthy sources to back up this rumour the report that he will be joining AC Milan looks dubious. It is important to wait to draw judgements until there are formal announcements. To maintain a competitive position in Italian League Napoli can still bolster their team with potential acquisitions and rely on their strong custodian and defenders. Even if the season may be challenging they have a chance to claim a high spot if not the first then at least the second.

Although there are rumors about Osimhen moving to Milan, I'm not sure it will happen. Even though his contract with Napoli will soon expire, Milan is unlikely to bring him in as a permanent purchase. Considering that AC Milan is currently focused on buying affordable players, they might not pursue Osimhen with a buying status (maybe if he was free agents). Of course, I would be happy if Osimhen does join Milan because he would enhance AC Milan's attacking rhythm. But for now, i don't think this rumor will come true.

I also don't think the rumors of Osimhen becoming Milan player next season will really happen considering his current deal with his club Napoli and the Napoli president saying that the player is still a player of the club Napoli even though offers has come from Saudi Arabia Which is one of the bigest deals for the player but it is not considered yet because Napoli is happy with the performance of the striker who helped them to win the league last season as the top goal scorer in SeriaA. Osimhen joining Milan is going to be a huge deal for Napoli but I think Napoli will rather sell Osihmen to another club to make money when he still has one year contract with the club than letting him join Milan as a free agent that will be of no profit for the club but rather Milan will be a stronger opposition for Napoli to play against.

Not only Buffon, but sometimes other players also choose to retire to the club that started their career. But it is clear that Buffon is different from other players because he is so special and during his 28 years of career in football he has won various prestigious European titles and even the world cup in 2006. Buffon is a legend for all players and especially for today's talented goalkeeper, of course, Buffon's influence is the beginning of their interest in becoming a great goalkeeper.

I think it will be very difficult for any goalkeeper to beat the statistics of Buffon's career as a goalkeeper so far and maybe it will take a very long time to see another goalkeeper who has achieved the same as him. To be a head coach, I think it is quite difficult because you rarely see a former goalkeeper who has become a successful coach and maybe Buffon is more suitable to be a mentor for young players in the Italian national team.
I don't have many words for Gianluigi Buffon after he announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 45. He is one of the legendary goalkeepers who remained until last season in Serie A, but we will miss him next season after declaring his retirement. Yes, of course we all have the right to appreciate his brilliant career with several teams he has joined, and he deserves something special.

Regarding his future, I don't think Gianluigi Buffon will become a coach even if it is possible. Gianluigi Buffon deserves a different position in a team, it's like Oliver Kahn who once served in an important position at Bayern Munich.

It is reported that Buffon's agent will hold a meeting in the coming days to discuss termination of the contract, thus Buffon will decide to retire at the age of 45. Buffon still has one year left on his contract with Parma, but frequent injuries have forced him to retire and refuse to continue his career in the SPL.

It is time for Buffon to enjoy his time beside his family, he is the oldest goalkeeper who is still active today. After retiring, Buffon received an offer to fill the position of Chief of Delegation for the Italian National Team.
45 years old is a very reasonable age to retire from football even though he is only a goalkeeper. Because at that age, a player is already very vulnerable to injury, moreover, his reflex level is also not as fast as before, so that can also be a consideration. It is a very good solution for Buffon to retire and enjoy a normal life with his family because he has also made a very bright career and quite good achievements in his youth. So now it's time for Buffon to take a break with his own family.

Buffon has a wonderful past. He was a magnificent goalkeeper and made his name in the Italian legends. A legendary player, known not only as one of the best goalkeepers in Italy but in the world, thus left his football career behind. Buffon, who left great memories of football in his 45-year life, I hope he continues his life in football. It will be better if he can be a good coach in the future. We were used to seeing him in football.

It's interesting to talk about Buffon because it seems, Buffon might be the only player who started his career and ended his career at the same club and that is Parma. Of course, as a legendary player there are many achievements that Buffon has and next, I will probably wait too. Will Buffon eventually become the head coach of a club in Serie A, or maybe Buffon will just pursue another business out there. But as a legendary player, I really hope that Buffon can become a head coach at a club in the future. Although it is possible, the chances are very low because it seems Buffon also is probably too old to start as a head coach.

It is true that Buffon is a player with the position of goalkeeper and has had quite a number of achievements during his career in football.
Parma has been proof of how great Buffon was during their time as a goalkeeper and Buffon himself retired at the age of 45, that is quite an old age for a footballer even though he is a goalkeeper.

Many rumors circulated that since his retirement, Buffon has not coached a club in Serie A, but he will have an offer to become the manager of the Italian National Team and work closely with coach Roberto Mancini in Vialli's place.

Such news and information are purely speculations.
Victor Oshime goes nowhere, he'll stay with Napoli this season despite the links to Ac Milan. That can never be possible after all the strong relationship built with the people of naples. Osimhen wouldn't want to repay them that way. The quest for a central attacking player is important even Paris Saint Germany lacks one currently. Osimhen is currently hot cake in the market everyone wants him.

My Prediction for who wins the Seria A next would be amongst, Roma, Juventus and also Ac Milan.
Napoli would narrowly jump into the top four clubs,  I doubt all of those positivity to win the League nor defending the league. They already lost the shepherd, now who leads the sheep's? Next season, player's like Khivicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Oshime would definitely leave Napoli but not ending up with another Italian side.

And what a ride is it for Buffon. Long range ball serving are closing not important but most importantly, youngins can look at his leadership role and passion also for the game to add to them game. Godspeed with whatever he does ahead.

whether it is true or false we do not know, whether it is likely we can guess: Osimehn is a great player and everyone wants him (it seems to me an absolutely normal thing) but he clashes with a team that RIGHTLY does not want to give him up and wants a lot of money.

The news from Buffon we were all waiting to see if he is going to retire at 45. While this legendary player got offers from the Saudi teams and some people were thinking he is going to finish his career there but Buffon is going to get retired in Parma the Italian team where he started his career.
However, I think if they could get themself into the Serie A Buffon could play for another season.

It's time for buffon to retire from football. He has been dedicating whole of his life to play football. It's now the time for him to enjoy his life. Buffon can now try to think what must be doing him tomorrow like going holiday or something like this.
Im really surprised to see that how he was still playing as a goal keeper till 45 years old which is very old. His physic cannot support him anymore. Finally, buffon shall be leaving from the football which has been making him being so popular as one of the greatest goal keeper in the world when he was still in his prime. I hope that buffon can have a good life after he retires from football. We will miss you buffon and GBU.

I remember Buffon fondly, he played for my beloved Juventus for many years and gave a lot to the team. I see a certain romance in his finishing his career at the team where he started. I wish him all the best in the world and I remember his early days very well. Hello and thanks for everything Buffon.

on november 19, 1995, at the tender age of 17, he made his professional debut in ac parma's 0-0 draw vs. ac milan - it was the start of a career that is beyond compare and now almost all the relevant media in italy are reporting that GB is to become head of delegation in the squadra azzurra in the future.
in the graphic below you can see some incredible numbers of the italian goalkeeper legend

he played a lot and he also played well, however there are spots in his career due to penalties for suspicious things about match fixing or similar
I think all resolved (or covered up) however he is not the clear champion like Pele or Van Basten. I would say a sort of Maradona, with his problems and all. He was good and gave a lot of emotions with saved penalties.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
45 years old is a very reasonable age to retire from football even though he is only a goalkeeper. 45 years is a very impressive age for a football player if he still manages to play at that age at a professional level. Buffon had a great career but leaving football is not easy, I think he could continue to work in Italy and train young goalkeepers, maybe he will do that, but first let him rest with his family, he deserves it. He had a very tempting offer from Saudi Arabia, but he refused, so it's not about money, he just wants to end his career.
Buffon as the best goalkeeper.
Maybe he will become one of the special staff to train talented goalkeepers but we never know if he wants to do that or not but usually someone who is retired then he will help his club or country if there is a suitable offer on him as a special goalkeeper tactician.
I think he will continue his career after the Arab League comes with a lot of money, but by refusing it means Buffon is already planning to end his career at the age of 45.

True, high appreciation for Buffon. Now is the time to enjoy the fruits of your hard work, perhaps switching professions to become a coach or assistant coach after retirement is the next step. After delaying retiring several times, finally Buffon with a heavy heart had to accept his fate to hang up his gloves, even though he still had one year left on his contract with Parma.

I wish him all the best in his retirement years, this is the main reason Buffon refused to move to the SPL, constant injuries and age factors do not allow him to play at the best level anymore.

I haven't heard anything about Osimhen like he is planning to join Milan. Why would he think of doing so in the first place? There is no motivation for him to do it while he is playing for the last champion of the league. Napoli are likely to be a competitive team for the Serie A title regularly from now on. It just depends on establishing a good relationship with Rudi Garcia.

Besides Milan wouldn't even like to spend that much money on anyone. Osimhen's asking price would be around 150 million euros I guess. Milan don't make this kind of big transfers as they don't feel the need for it.

I think Osimhen would be signed by a top team in other big leagues in the future. But I don't feel like it will happen this summer.

Honestly, I didnt even hear about this news, I knew that the English teams and PSG had tried it without results since Napoli had rejected the offers. (like Chelsea and PSG)

On the one hand I am happy he are staying in Italy on the other I am unhappy that he going to Milan (better than Inter though) Anyway this is the story and we can only read it.
