Atalanta seems to be one of the big losers of the first half of the season. Nobody would like to see Napoli dominating the season and finishing it early I assume. I still see Milan as the only team that can compete with them for it. I don't think Lazio or Atalanta can keep up a good effort until the end of the season. Juventus are getting better but I still don't see them more likely than Milan. It is the same for Inter as well.

I think Lazio are quite confident in securing the second position of the Serie A standings, because they are still able to stay in the top three of Serie A after half a season has pass.
While Milan, which is one of Lazio's main rivals, has increased position in the standings since the last few weeks, because at the start of the season Milan look difficult to return to the top position of the Serie A standings.

So I don't seem to understand a reason why those nay-sayers would acclaim Allegra as an "incompetent" coach, just for the fact that a team lost it fine form. If Juventus can make good use of the next transfer window, then they'll tend to closeup those loopholes.

Even the first place isn't guaranteed since Napoli has a bad history of dropping points after being in the first rank, well this year is quite different since their attack line is very effective. It is good to see them playing like that.
Lazio will play vs Juve in this round, Atalanta vs Inter, Milan and Roma have challenging games too so the ranking might heavily change before the international break!

While Napoli were in the lead with 38 points after 14 matches, the race for second place got very hot.  For now, Lazio is in second place with 30 points and Milan is in third place with 30 points.  There is only 4 points difference between 7th place Roma and second place Lazio.  Napoli leads the race alone.  Serie A is in such a position that anything can happen for second place.

Victory was enough for Napoli to add to the difference in points they accumulated from the team chasing them in the table. Overall their game last week against Empoli I can say it was still good, but maybe there was a difference where they couldn't take more chances. They had 18 shots but only a few were on target, I think that's one of the things that set them apart in this game. But overall they have no serious problems.
