Atalanta is ahead because they have two games left in the season while Roma only have one game left so it will be quite impossible for Roma to overtake Atalanta. However, Atalanta will try as hard as possible to achieve victory in order to secure 5th place so they can play in the Champions League next season. Roma seems to have to settle for 6th position and they will play in the European league next season. Roma lost a lot of points at the start of the season which made their performance less impressive this season but with the good performance directed by De Rossi there is a big possibility that Roma can compete at the top next season.

Atalanta are in their best performance because in 5 matches they managed to win in a row. Atalanta actually has two opportunities to win Champions League tickets because if they succeed in winning the European League, of course they will participate in the Champions League next season. Yes, Roma performed quite badly toward the end of the season. There is a decrease of the performance of Roma player. I am not sure if it is caused by they failed in Europa league. Inter Milan in their performance today did appear carefree because they know that they have won the league even if they eventually happened to loose that game but I think that wasn't enough to just allowing such a draw with such a team, they actually almost lost the game but then in the last minutes of the second half they became lucky enough that they were able equalize the game and had to share points with their opponent.

Even with a Red card , Roma was able to win their game and for me that's a show of strength they had the home advantage but then that's not enough because some teams will still get to loose even with the home advantage they have got because res card usually have a way of playing down on the psychology of the team and they will be unable to perform as they aught to have and I feel it's the reason they won by a goal maybe they would have won by even more goals but then they weren't a complete team against their opponent who still couldn't take advantage of their weak spot.

Ending the season with a red card is actually one that comes with mixed feeling for Roma but then they finishing at the sixth position which qualifies them for the Europa next season and not the champions league which they were aiming at, d Rossi has actually done a good job at Roma because upon his arrival they weren't looking like they will be able to make it to the Europa this season but then they have successfully gotten to that point.

It is the survival of the fittest. And it is very much evident that Sassuolo was not fit enough to actually stay in Serie A. Yes, they had some good performances here and there. But the performance was definitely not good enough to keep them in the Serie A.

I think Cagliari, Frosinone, Verona, and Udinese all of them are actually somewhat threatened to still finish in the relegation zone. Some more than the other of course. But I do not think Empoli is actually going to win the next match that they are going to play. Because they will be playing against Roma. Because if they lose this match they will actually jeopardize the position of themselves playing in the Europa League in the next season.

Roma will most likely finish in the Europa League zone, where the chance for De Rossi fleet to overtake Atalanta is impossible, because the two teams are now 6 points apart. If Roma finishes in 6th place in the standings, then De Rossi will not be able to make Roma better than the previous season, but considering that this is his first season coaching the club, De Rossi performance can still be understood.

Meanwhile, Atalanta looks like they will be able to sweep all the remaining matches in Serie A, even though in the European League Atalanta is not the favorite. Roma has not won any game in five matches which shows the level of inconsistency in the squad.

I doubt if they can beat Genoa and Empoli. Atalanta is not a club that will lose against Torino and Fiorentina. Atalanta will indeed be focusing on the game against Bayer Leverkusen which might bring some distraction. But I don't see them losing two Seria A games in a row. I just think that Daniele De Rossi boys should be comfortable with a Europa spot.  

Personally I don't think Roma team will be able to qualify for the Champions League. First, Roma team is 6 points behind Atalanta. So Roma must win the next two matches and Atalanta must lose both matches. Moreover, Roma will not be able to qualify for the fifth place in the table if they do not win two matches by a large margin.

Secondly, Roma will play their last two matches against Genoa and Empoli. Although these two teams are relatively weak, Roma team is not in good form at the moment. Their performance is quite erratic. For this reason, even if the opponent is weak, it is unlikely that Roma will win by a large margin

My guess is Atalanta will be fifth in the table. Roma is now playing against Genoa. Neither team could score a goal in the first half. So I don't think Roma have a chance to win by a big margin.

However, Roma might still not be able to represent Italy in the UEFA Champions League next season even after finishing the league in the fifth position if they Atalanta after finishing in the sixth position goes on to win the UEFA Europa League competition this season.

In the end, the Inter Milan vs Lazio match ended in a draw, namely 1-1. The result of this match does not change anything for Inter Milan. But the results of this match are actually a bit detrimental to Lazio who are aiming for 6th place. Thus, even if Roma makes +20 in the last games, and Atalanta loses two games with a score of 0-10 and gets -20 in total, there will be equality of points, but Atalanta will still remain in 5th place.

I was personally quite disappointed with the 1-1 draw for the final score in this match although indeed, I also did not expect Inter or Lazio to win. But yes, at least they can play more openly so that maybe the match runs more interestingly with many goals scored. You're right about Atalanta. Getting into the Champions League? Without a doubt a big win. Money, fame, and the Major League. They beat Lecce easily and are now six points ahead of Roma. Trust me, those fans deserve a party. Not to do too much. Have you seen that Lecce game? That wasnt very strong, was it? Competing with the best in Europe is not the same as making the cut. Its its own game. You need to be strong, smart, and fast. They work, but a few important changes could really make a difference. Moving this summer? Big, wait and see.

Yeah Serie A has the opportunity to send 6 teams to the Champions League and Atlanta as the decider, if Atlanta win the Europa League and finish in 6th place in Serie A then Serie A will have 6 teams in the Champions league top 5 in the standings + 1 ticket from the winner of the Europa League. The problem is that Atalanta doesn't want to take risks because there is no guarantee they can beat Leverkusen in the final so Atalanta will try to maintain 5th position until the end of the season.

I found this information in local media which was published 3 days ago so AS Roma and Lazio can only fight to get tickets to the European League, but I think AS Roma has a bigger chance of securing the ticket because they have 2 games left.

This was a very disappointing season for Sassuolo because they had to be relegated to Serie B but they failed to show something that would allow them to survive in Serie A. The 22 defeats they received, 8 draws and 7 wins did not allow them to survive. their position is in Serie A, and now they have to say goodbye to Serie A because they have to go to Serie B.
Sassuolo will accompany Salernitana because Salernita is the first team to confirm relegation. Now they are only looking for 1 more team that will complete the 2 teams that will go to Serie B.
