FrictionlessCoin,

In Germany someone talks about you

Here the translation (ixcoin at the bottom of the page)

http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=de&tl=en&u=http%3A//altcoinspekulant.wordpress.com

Well I suspect the author's decision to invest in WDC and NXT.

Still, getting the word out is always great.

Sorry this whole thread is too long to read the entire thing.

Are there working nodes ?

Last few times I tried anything with this i could not get the blockchain.

Without it are people just keeping their coins on Cryptsy & Vircurex ??

Yes, use the nodes mentioned in www.ixcoin.co

I actually don't know where people have placed their coins.

It used to be, most folks had their coins in Vircurex,  but you can run up the order book up to 0.005 and you will not find any major seller.  I suspect a 10 BTC buy runs up the coin 100%.

Cryptsy is even lighter,  nobody has coins over at Cryptsy.

Not even the owners of more then 17 million coins care about it (no donations), why should all the others care about it?

What's real strange is that I don't see those 17 million coins in the order book.   Just trying to buy 1% of the coins (i.e. 170,000 coins) will move the market by 50% or more.  It's crazy!

Vlad went back to his native earth in Transylvania or somesuch place for the holidays a while ago. Holidays usually tends to mean past newyears I think so likely won't see him until 2014.

Where is the purported new version of the clients? The linked thread didn't seem to have a link to the source code?

www.ixcoin.co has the links to the sources in github and the mac os x binary.

Here is the Mac OS X client in action:

I do not hold any ixcoin. I am really considering all this a sort of hopeless experiment. If it should ever become a serious coin, well, I will regret to have been wrong all the time. At the moment, it's just a bubble, caused by announcements of developments.

Not even the owners of more then 17 million coins care about it (no donations), why should all the others care about it?

Eventually, I think Bitcoin will reach the announced value by Winklevoss of 40k USD, maybe within a couple of years. All the others coins, apart from a few exceptions, will be simply trodden, vaporised.
Why? Every day a new "dogecoin" is born, letting the buyer so confused. The only logical solution will be to stick to the original one.
Sorry mate, I don't see any real future for this coin.

Well that's where you are completely wrong.   IXcoin competes with Devcoin for the #3 in hash rate among all alt-coins.   Bitcoin and Namecoin are #1 and #2 respectively.

Anyway, the value of that high hash rate is a more secure network that is extremely valuable.  More value that many of the alternate coins out there that have paltry hash rates.

That is why, if you look closely at the coin's trading,  it actually holds its value long term against BTC.

So we the hash rate secure, it is just a matter of upgrading the code, adding services and building community to get this coin up there in the ranks of the top coins.

Merge mining is the way to go for stuff like colored coins.   Stuff like MasterCoin is complete garbage and insecure.

IXC is doomed to fall below 0.0001 BTC if the trading remains so low for another week.

Honestly, a lot of the IXCoin holders are complete idiots.

They think that its a good thing to do stealth buying and not promote the coin so they can get it cheaper.  They do nothing to speed up development by not donating anything.

They dump en mass when the coin hit .004 the other day.

It is like they have an agenda to keep the coin low so they can accumulate cheap.

I've been making all the improvements on my own and have only heard from two other folks about helping out.   It is ridiculous considering the massive potential of this coin.

Also, where the hell is the Vlad character?

I almost bought back in if it had gone below 10k satoshis. But meh. Internet exchange coin, lol. Wow, how awesome is that?!

On that note, I recommend Vircurex, they pay interest on BTC, LTC, and PPC now
and you can save 10% on trade fees when using a referral code:

Such as mine, for example --->  Grin Thanks and happy trading!

iXcoin definitely one of the better performers in this down turn.

Coin is rock solid,   300 peta hash rate,  2 1/2 years in existence,  latest Bitcoin upgraded client,  hard cap of 21 million coins... extremely scarce.

You can't mine it... you can only buy it!

Meanwhile... what pray tell is digitalcoins difficulty?   Paltry,  a joke.   You can mine thousands of these coins in a day on a single GPU.

I'll look into helping out IXC where I can. PM me with whatever still needs to be done.

Thanks!  The more developers working on the code base, the better!

I would continue to post on bitcointalk, but I think it's a great idea to have an iXcoin forum too.  It allows the iXcoin enthusiasts and discussions to be focused in one place.  It should make for faster progress.

I don't think a forum out of bitcointalk is a good idea. At least not now, maybe in the future.
