Ixcoin has double the volume of Peercoin now on vircurex.com

does PeerCoin even trade much on Vircurex since it went to BTCe?

Well, at least IXC has 100 times the network hash rate of PPC.

um yeah, you know PeerCoin is not really a hash POW coins but a POS?

So, with POS you get coins for free?

Nice converter.

I guess 10 IXC is now worth $2.   Could be worth $200 when this is all done!

Doubt n.1:
Is there a place where you can spend your IXC?
e.g. http://digitalcoin.co/spend/

As long as IXCoin is convertible to BTC, then it is spendable everywhere BTC is held.

Do I care if half a dozen stores carry a coin?  I only care if the network is secure and the price of iXcoin relative to USD or BTC is stable.

iXcoin essential has its network secured, so there is no worry about that as compared to most other alt-coins.

Liquidity of course is not as great as the other major alt-coins (i.e. LTC, PPC, NMC etc), however the first objective is to bring up liquidity by demonstrating that development remains active.

Also, the next frontier is not a bunch of U.S. based stores accepting payment, the next frontier is countries setting up exchanges.

Going forward, the target audience of this coin are non-U.S. residents.

The moment of the truth. On ixcoin.co:
Note: The updated 0.8.5.1 source tree has been uploaded into GitHub.  You can find it here:  https://github.com/FrictionlessCoin/iXcoin

I don't think this update will make a great difference. Still many doubts about this coin

Doubts?

Can you be more specific?

You can't deny that at over 2 peta hashes per second, this coin is more secure that almost 95% of all other alt-coins.

Most alt-coins have no guarantee that one day all miners move to something more profitable.

I was comparing virtual coins on http://coinmarketcap.com
Having for example:

QuarkCoin    $ 0.17   246,070,081 QRK
WorldCoin    $ 0.78   34,491,401 WDC
Megacoin   $ 1.13   21,202,050 MEC
BBQCoin   $ 0.11   28,304,851 BQC
Digitalcoin   $ 0.21   11,288,979 DGC

The fare price for Ixcoin, considering the 21.000.000 cap, seems to be between 0.15 and 1.6 USD.
Realistically, 0.50 USD in 4-5 months.
Does it sound right to You?

The coins that you mention are all extremely insecure relative to iXcoin.

Furthermore, they are playing the game that people will fail to notice that there are billions of coins in circulation or the mint rate is extremely high.

Most of the coins you list have not been around for 6 months!

iXcoin has been around  for 2.5 years and only has 16 million coins in circulation.

Fair price?  Megacoin valuation should be perfectly fair.. in short a bit of over $1 or $20+ million market cap.

All iXcoin needs is a technology update and more aggressive marketing.   Which incidentally is in the process of happening.

I recommend folks to keep buying while it still is cheap.

It's a strange coincidence that ixcoin.co came to be at the same time ixcoin.org was suspended.
Personally, I do not believe in coincidences.

Yes, very odd indeed.   Still looking for Thomas Nakasioto so he can pay me some bounties.

Bitparking Merged Mining pool is having more and more trouble with variance. If the Bitcoin diff keeps going up like this and Bitparking doesn't magically double its hashrate all out of a sudden, and keeps doubling it, the pool will face some very difficult times - meaning people will join larger pools with lower variance, potentially the end of the merged mining game, and oh - ixcoin.

Ghash.io is mining IXC Wink

Well, you discovered IXC secret weapon.

Only one connection? That seems very bad for Ixcoin, it should be able to get its full 8 even if you dont have an incoming port open...

-MarkM-

Yeah...  I was scratching my head on that one too.

I also had to manually set the add node since the seeds in the code weren't available!

Talk about neglect!!!

If folks want to make money in this, they've got to pay their dues.  We need permanent nodes!!!

Have you had any luck increasing the connection count?

Do you have the cloud nodes running yet?

Man... I really hate this community!  I requested a couple days ago for some funds so we can get some permanent node up in the network!   Absolutely no response.   My patience is wearing very thin and I am going to have to take over all development and use my own funds for it!

You should also ask for persistant miners to post their node IP's.  Then we can add them to our config file.  Judging by the hash rate of ixcoin there must be a number of permanent nodes already out there.  You may not even need the droplets, although it certainly doesn't hurt since you have better control over them.

It seems the interest in this coin is collapsing again. Cry
Price falling, trading progressively reducing in quantity.

Not to worry.   Volume is extremely low.  I'm watching it, and I don't see any major sellers.

We'll see buyers flood in once the new client is released and the website is completed.

Most all prices are down because of China clamping down on bitcoin a bit.

Except for iXcoin, where the price is up!  See coinmarketcap.com
