Jake Paul fight is no more. Hasim Rahman Jr has failed to lose weight and show he would make 200lbs next week. Jake Paul agreed to fight him at 205lbs but Rahman’s team said he would only fight at 215lbs now. So the fight is officially cancelled. Jake Paul is tweeting about it so you have to wonder now who is next… A second cancelled fight is pretty bad for Jake’s career. He’s got to set his sights on McGregor or Tyson now to keep his name in the news.
There was a lot of debate whether this would be the first career loss for Jake Paul as he is fighting a real boxer in Hasim Rahman Jr and now the real boxer backed out of the fight even with the leverage and this will not harm the reputation of Jake Paul. Two boxers pulled out of the fight against an Youtuber which gives him the hype.

Personally i do not want to see Jake Paul fighting Conor McGregor as they are completely different weight class and Conor would not stand a chance against Jake Paul.
I would feel sorry for Jake Paul if they would reallt cancel this fight again because I watched on different video clips that he's been preparing for this match. It should have been another opportunity for him to prove his stregth on the ring. I hope he could find a perfect opponent where there's no any chance of canceling anymore because he deserves more than this.

We don't know who really did cancel first this fight.
But no matter what, a professional boxer should be the next opponent of Jake Paul.
However, who would have the guts to fight him inside the ring?
We need to see the caliber of Jake Paul if he is faced with a real professional boxer.

Be nice!
As much as I want to see Jake Paul in a ring, but I don't think his opponent would really want to fight him. His opponent, Hasim Rahman Jr., could easily get into shape and be within the specified weigh however they did not and not just once. It will really hit his career hard and he will need to provoke another fighter on social media to keep his name upfloat.
So many fights cancelled already. 5lbs seems easy to achieve, Hasim just making it an excuse.
Mcgregor is going to be perfect as they could trashtalk well for the public buzz. It's also what Jake wants as it could add to the hype. The Pauls live in hype but they know the business well.  I think Mcgregor also have a good chance of defeating Jake.
It's really very disappointing for Paul it seems there is fear in his would-be opponents after that last brutal knockout of Tyron Woodley, the rule is they are going to wait for the weigh-in before they decide, and if they can still continue I don't know what's on the contract but it's very clear that Rahman doesn't want to be in the fight, if they really want the fight they will work on to get that extra pounds but there is no effort, Paul cannot afford another cancell fight he should get a fighter who is more willing, people are excited to see him in the ring.
Even if they wait for the official weigh in, I doubt that it will even matter if Hasim haven't reached the desired weigh that they intended to fight on. It will be another cancelled match for Paul's career. It will really be interesting if he can reach with McGregor and try stir the media as well as other social media platform for more views. Hopefully, we will see that into action in case he can provoke him to fighting in the ring.

Uggh. So annoying. I was looking forward to this fight and it was going to be shown for free on Dazn in the UK. I wonder what sort of financial hit Jake is taking on this? Pretty shitty and stupid of Hasim not have taken this fight seriously as he's going to lose the biggest paycheck of his career and now he looks like a coward who wanted to fight on his own terms and whatever weight he felt like.

I am quite certain that it will take some future financial hits for Jake Paul as a promoter. There might not be much other fighters who would be as excited to be in one of his cards. Those other boxers have also trained hard for August 6 and have also had their expenses paid for their training.

I have a feeling though that this fight is still going to happen and it might have to be push through, just maybe a couple of weeks.

Or maybe find a replacement fighter for Rahman?

But if they fight is totally scraped for good then sure, it will have a financial toll on Jake Paul.

Are these fights official? Is Jake Paul really trying to force his way into boxing by challenging fighters that he knows that is out of his caliber? Though that may be the case, I still find this entertaining enough given that lots of people loathe him due to his attitude and demeanors. I guess that is how he got his fame and money, through all the social media attention and attraction.

I just hope that if this fight continues, regardless of the weight disparity, both fighters would at least make it entertaining enough. But if gambling were to be present, I'd put my money on Hasim.

Maybe, but I doubt it. Jake wouldn't have announced it was cancelled and likely just tried to get it sorted behind the scenes as people will start collecting their refunds already. I wonder if lack of ticket and PPV sales had any impact? Hasim Just posted a video explaining why he couldn't make weight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3HketvrwGA

Sounds to me like he didn't have any intention of losing weight and was just trying to hardball Jake into fighting on his own terms and left it this late so Jake would be more likely to just acquiesce rather than pulling the entire fight. If you aren't willing to fight at a certain weigh then don't sign the contract.

I think Jake should fight Tommy next, then maybe Nate Diaz, and then depending how well he does in that either McGregor or Mayweather. I think it Jakes makes it past Tommy and Nate Connor is certainly an option.

That's a bummer. I wonder why Hasim didn't feel like fighting Jake in the first place? Dude's obviously trying to gain the upper hand by forcing Jake to move on to his weight, which of course isn't easy to do considering that the fighter already trained and aimed for that said weight for weeks or months. Also, why sign a contract if you plan to change things on your own terms later down the line? This doesn't make sense at all, and honestly Jake should sue Hasim for damages. What a load of unprofessional BS for the said boxer.

Also, this is the first time that I actually root for Jake Paul Cheesy

A second cancelled fight is pretty bad for Jake’s career. He’s got to set his sights on McGregor or Tyson now to keep his name in the news.

Lots of fights get cancelled for missing weight or injuries etc. He'll be fine. Plenty of opponents willing to fight him but he's probably going to need to fight a boxer just to make that next step in his career. I read that if Jake would have won this fight he would have got a professional boxing ranking so that's probably something he's going to want to try get to give him some legitimacy and move onto the pros. Personally, I hope he just makes the Tommy Fury fight happen as that's the most logical step and one that is not out of reach for Jake to win whilst still being a challenge, but I'm not sure if Tommy has burned his bridges with Jake now and Jake might not be willing to fight anywhere other than the states. It looks like they're trying to drum up interest with KSI for a fight but that won't happen for a while as he is fighting next month. I think Jake easy beats KSI though. He only beat his brother on points and Jake is a much better boxer than him.

Honestly, I'm a bit interested to this rematch because McGregor surely had some improvements and changes after their first encounter and this time he knows how and when to conserve his energy to last longer rounds.
Maybe you are right about that, though that is still undecided that McGregor will be a lot better this time because their first encounter was almost 5 years already and McGregor fought some foes too afterward in the octagon. Many thought that their fight last 2017 was just a one-time thing but it seems that they will revive that again to have a rematch, and honestly, it's still got me interested because Mayweather said that he's willing to put his professional career on the line.

I think Connor wins too, but he's rusty and has been out of action for a while, so I don't think they'd be too far apart skillwise, other than Connor has a lot of fights both pro and amateur under his belt. Jakes trumps him on age as well and will have that underdog spirit and hunger. Connor did pretty well against Mayweather I thought and has knock out power as does Jake so it wouldn't be a big mismatch. I actually think it could be pretty close. I'd love to see it.
I've never got why so many people jumped on Conor for that Mayweather fight. I'm also one of the few it seems that thought he did well. I mean he gassed out in typical Conor fashion, but he was going toe to toe with Mayweather, who is regarded as one of the best boxers, and for a few the best boxer. I can't say I agree he's the best ever, but he's definitely one of the best. So, for Conor to move to a sport he doesn't train in, and doesn't do, and put on that sort of performance I thought was good.

He gassed for sure, and quite frankly I thought the stoppage was very early. Conor fights better when he gets hurt, as do so many other fighters. He was just incredibly tired, you could see it.
It was already clear that Mayweather will have the favor and advantage even before the fight started, but looking at the fight, McGregor's performance was really good than what I expected considering that boxing is not his forte and his muscle memories are trained to attack in a way that is prohibited in boxing just like what we saw on McGregor where he was frequently told by the referee not to do his thing because it's not allowed in a boxing match.

I think it will be an interesting fight if the match were mixed, 3 rounds of boxing and 3 rounds of MMA Grin

3 rounds of boxing and 3 rounds of pure MMA? Wow, that will be great to see if that kind of fight will happen but I think it will be impossible to wish for that because we know that the said sports are so different and MMA fighters will be at the advantage side unlike the boxer who only trained all his life using the fist.

Also, I don't think that Mayweather would be that dumb to accept that kind of fight where he would be embarrased.

You're right, I'm also wishing that it could be possible though but it's literally impossible especially in this fight because Mayweather will surely reject the idea if that is the case. But yes, maybe in future fights this kind of idea will be possible where we can see a fight that is consisted of mixed boxing and MMA rules.

Honestly, I'm a bit interested to this rematch because McGregor surely had some improvements and changes after their first encounter and this time he knows how and when to conserve his energy to last longer rounds.

There’s a zero percent chance that we’ll be seeing Mayweather in the octagon. He’s an elite fighter, but I’m guessing even the worst fighter on the UFC roster could easily end his career. He definitely won’t ever be in an MMA fight with McGregor. As much as I’d love to see it, there’s no way we ever will. Crazy to think it’s even a possibility.
Yes, you're certainly right about that. It's really impossible to even consider that it will happen with Mayweather fighting in the Octagon especially if he will go against McGregor, I cannot imagine what would be the outcome of the fight because I'm really sure that Mayweather won't be the same anymore considering what McGregor could do to him in the octagon. But I would like to see that kind of fight someday, mixed MMA and Boxing kind of fight.

Jake Paul is a good fighter although I must say he probably has bought over some fights he actually has the money to do so. But I think he has found his calling and making money from promoted fights is his calling I think recently I saw him in the World wrestling entertainment ring. But I don’t think he is ready for big fights, Andrew Tate once called him out but I really doubt if he is ready to take that fight fairly.
