Have you guys watched their previous shadow boxing? If you haven't yet you can watch it [1]
LOL, it was the most impressive boxing match of this era, should we use VR to see shadow boxers?

Jake Paul shouldn't fight against Tommy Fury, it prove nothing, he need to fight against Bivol or Beterbiev lol. I believe he didn't even survive for a round and will got KO'ed after 1-2 minutes.
I agree to add Bivol to the list of fights against Jake Paul. Bivol is very difficult for him and chances are Jake paul will have a losing list.
But Tommy Fury winning history is also impressive, both boxers are unbeaten in the previous few fights but they must maintain the history of boxing wins for their careers.

We wanted to see Jake Paul being destroyed by a real boxer. But in this is going to be an exhibition match, I'm not expecting any knockout.

Why dont you expect a knockout in an exhibition fight? In previous exhibition fight Jake knocked out Tyron Woodley, even though some people consider it was staged. Previously formed MMA fighter Vitor Belfort brutally KOed former boxing champ Evander Holyfield (but I think it was a mismatch).

Jake is able to knockout Tommy Fury, as Tommy is not the greatest boxer. He has a good record, but he was fighting against punching bags all the time.

It's not really an exhibition at all they promote it as an exhibition match but the fighters are hurting each other exhibition should be friendly they conceal it as an exhibition because these are not real boxers because they have no license, they are here to entertain people, they do entertain people but it involves a real fight.
The Paul brothers change the meaning of exhibition matches, in fact exhibition should not have knock out and there should be no winners that's what exhibition matches should be in boxing.

It show how different the truly professional boxer is by looking at the footwork and how the way they punch, Jake Paul like a kid who already trained after a week Roll Eyes

Looking from Wikipedia [2] this is a professional match Cheesy

The choices now are Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury or Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz. I think the latter is a better draw than the former. The reputation or popularity of Nate is probably bigger even among outside MMA fans. I don't really watch his fights but he's known to be a bad ass and he has some boxing skills to back it up as well.

These youtuber fights are for making more money anyway so it make sense for Jake to drop Tommy. They can set up another one after Nate.

Nate has a good boxing background in my opinion, he has a good left hook so this is a good match for Jake Paul. And it's going to be interesting as Nate is bad ass and really love to trash talk his opponents. So we will see two fighters who will bad mouth each other before even the actual fight. And I think this will sell more than the Tommy Fury fight for Jake Paul.
Hardly anyone knew Diaz was smaller but he always had boxing and not just one punch and was a great boxer and ideal opponent Jake Paul had never played before, shorter and smaller and also older than him with less reach.

I didn't say that Nate is smaller though, I said he has some boxing skills.

I think Tommy Fury is a real boxer who has beaten a real boxer, he's not short and I think Tommy Fury is a better fit for Jake Paul and will destroy him.
he has shown a good understanding of the basics of boxing, he is good at boxing behind his jab and is able to throw very strong hooks up close, especially to the body.

Perhaps it boils down as where the money is, and as I have said, Nate with his mouth will be a good match for Jake Paul as far as hyping this fight. And as @Yogee posted, the verbal tussle has started and just imagine what will they thrown at each other in the press conference.

I'm loving their twitter war after they finally signed up for the match hehe. Tommy doing better at responding to the social media taunts and rants of Jake than I was expecting. He understand how to sell fights and this could do well on Gate sales and PPV with how things are going so far.

On August 6th you’re gonna wish you just stuck to fighting those paid off MMA fighters and kept my name out of your mouth 🖕

Their press conference should be fun to watch. It could be better than their actual match.

It seems that both Jake Paul and Serrano will be fighting as a Co-main event in August but doesn't look like any opponents have been announced. Weird. Unless they're fighting each other haha.
This would be really funny lol.

Thanks for updating this thread with who is going to be in the match with Jake Paul.

Wasn't there supposed to be a fight between them back in 2021? It's good that they were able to realign with having a match this year. Hopefully, there wouldn't be any bacterial infection that would let Fury be pulled out of the match again. It is still a long way to go though so, we will never know. Lol.

Should be a good month for boxing with AJ/Usyk later in the month.

I just watched his fight's highlights on Youtube because watching it live is only a waste of time because after all their fight is only for entertainment and it's all obviously rigged, just a money fight and no thrill whatsoever. Look at this, no opponent yet but they announced it, they really wanted the people's attention as early as possible. their marketing is on another level. I thought those two will gonna fight each other which really doesn't make sense. I'm looking to see a real match for Jake Paul one day, a fight that would gonna make him regret stepping in the ring.

Shut up with the baseless rigged nonsense. And all boxing fights are just for the money. Nobody is doing this for free. It's all about the money. Neither Jake Paul or Tommy will want to lose this fight and it's going to be an embarrassment for Fury if he does and I think that's what makes this fight intriguing. If Jake has a decent performance who knows where he will go after this fight but if he wins it wouldn't surprise me if his next fight is against someone like McGregor.

Nate Diaz winning rate now is not a top fighter however but he can box, he is a bad ass even if he is bloody beaten. It'd be more exciting to watch since there seem to be a war against Paul vs MMA fighters. MMA fans are waiting for Jakes loss. Jake is bigger though and still very fit to fight making him in favor on odds. I bet his brother Nick will be the next if Nate loses.

It looks like Jake Paul was apparently going to face Tommy Fury on this card but Fury is allegedly pulling out with some more excuses (according to Jake in the above video). Hoping this fight does get made as I think it's a great fight for both of them. Gives Jake the credit of fighting a 'proper' boxer and will be huge exposure for Tommy in the USA/worldwide and could get him out of the shadow of his brother depending on how well he does. If Tommy loses though he will be an embarrassment in the boxing world so there's a lot at stake for both of them. Personally, I think it's quite an even fight and couldn't really pick a winner. If Tommy doesn't make this happen it's gonna make him look like a flaker though. Two million purse is a lot of money to walk away from especially to someone like Tommy who really doesn't deserve that sort of cash right now but that's the benefit of fighting Jake.

Looks like Jake might have a back up plan though in Nate Diaz as Dana White has apparently given the OK for him to fight:

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/other-sports/mma/jake-paul-nate-diaz-fight-27297260

I'd still prefer to see the Fury fight though.

Edit: https://twitter.com/tommytntfury/status/1539647903685173248

Looks like Tommy Fury is insinuating he's still fighting him according to that tweet. Tyson Fury was recently denied entry to the USA due to his ties to alleged gang boss so neither him or his dad would have been able to travel to the states for the Tommy fight. Maybe Tyson can get his VISA situation sorted out before then. You know they wouldn't turn him away if he personally had a boxing fight on.

I wonder why Serrano just didn't take the Taylor rematch which it seems Taylor really wanted. Even Hearn seemed to be disappointed and very surprised it wasn't happening but maybe Jake thinks he can earn more for her with this fight. The first was a really close fight and I'm sure the rematch would have been even bigger.

Its more important for boxers to retain an undefeated status, than it is for MMA fighters. Serrano likely won't pursue the rematch unless something changes that gives her confidence she can decisively win.

I seem to remember the right side of Serrano's face being swollen in the Katie Taylor fight which is also not a good look for boxers.

If there was a rematch, I would expect Katie Taylor to improve more than Serrano. Taylor seemed to tire and lose focus in the mid rounds, which is easier to fix than any adjustments Serrano might make.

Jake Paul confirms next fight date with Amanda Serrano set to box on undercard

No opponent has been announced for the YouTube star, who will compete at Madison Square Garden

I'd imagine Jake won't be fighting anyone big less he likely would have announced it already and done his own fight. Maybe he's combining it with Amanda so it's not a flop. I'd be very surprised if he fights anyone notable, especially someone like Tommy Fury, unless he's worried that not many people will be interested without another headline act like Serrano. I really think he should have tried to set that fight up as it's a logical step up for him and gets him the cred of actually fighting a boxer.
