Probably many people have lost money because of investing in the ICO's that he recommended. Anyway, it's good that people realized that he promoted the ICO's just for money, and he didn't really believe in them. Let's hope that he doesn't come back in the future with the ICO promotion services.
This is what happen when greed controls you, so many baseless advertisement and speculation coming from this guy and now he is facing consequences for that move. I hope SEC will continue to make threat to anyone who will hype the market again and in the end it turns to a scam.

I think there will be so many investors and traders need to find out new way to get news about cryptocurrency when John McAfee decided to stop promoting for ICO project cause as I know there are so many guys still follow all ICO projects and cryptocurrencies that John McAfee Tweet about on Twitter 
I don't know why would anyone pay $100k for his shilling in the first place, I never thought of him as a reputable guy, I would be cautious buying in into his projects. He made his $1M or balls prediction only to become more recognizable in the crypto space, it is not backed by anything. Nobody would talk about him if there were no absurd predictions.
It's still good marketing if you think that he has millions of followers and quite many who follow his recommendations, I think McAfee calculated himself that it costs his clients 17cents to reach out to his followers so it's not such a bad deal

People are realising that the coins he supports are paid tweets rather than actual support. He probably hasn't even read the whitepapers, just shilling what they pay him to say. Bad for his credibility as we can't take him seriously any more.

Thank god last time I heard he was getting paid over 100k just to promote an ICO. This guy has been shown to be a constant lier and will do almost anything for money.
I think he should do that long time ago cause there are nobody believe this guy anymore after they lost their money by investing in TRX for longterm. LOL. I think this is the right decision, because he is worried about its freedom. I think that his team is not always can check the ico quality for 101%.
So what if he's going to stop his service to make that much money by advertising a random coin/project?

That is good because he will likely save himself tons of fines by making that statement and or jail time. He is a smart guy despite what everybody thinks, and he is protecting his own bacon by making this move.
But do expect him to bounce back in some other form of schilling/scheming once the heat in the kitchen dies down.
I think it is a good decision and most of the icos that he promoted were the ones that he got paid to promote so i think it was somewhat unfair and unethical, for a guy of such statute like Mcafee we do expect him to Be unbiased and neutral always.
