John McAfee Will Stop ICO Promotion Services - The cybersecurity pioneer and eccentric digital currency advocate John McAfee, who has long been a digital token promoter has revealed today that he will not promote ICO anymore because of the perceived "threat" of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Mcafee revealed this through social media on his Twitter hand.

McAfee is just a big media figure. In theory, his place can take any famous person, somehow connected with the world of cryptocurrencies. There would be a desire and people who will prompt him some good, profitable projects, guaranteed to take profit.

Some nerves to say that he will eat his own thing on national tv or some showy badass things then suddenly he got scared by the SEC for promoting ICO? any links for this thing? he is actually a paid promoter loss for his great earnings each tweet and ads, P&D groups would probably get pissed because they are not getting any tokens to shill from John McAfee.

I don't know why would anyone pay $100k for his shilling in the first place, I never thought of him as a reputable guy, I would be cautious buying in into his projects. He made his $1M or balls prediction only to become more recognizable in the crypto space, it is not backed by anything. Nobody would talk about him if there were no absurd predictions.

I think now that he is no longer a good adviser or support ICO, many of the ICO that he supports turned out to be funding less investor interest

Most ICOs scam the newbies in the market and john mcafee promotes those ICOs not to give you a profitable ico but to take your money and sometimes to make profit from the ico itself.

Nice to hear that McAfee finally stops with that,  because I think a lot of these promotions were just fake and he got paid for these promotions in the past.. I don't like people who promote project for money, because a lot of people buy in because of that and in the end they lose money..

maybe that's not the only reason john mcafee to stop promoting ico because it's risking his reputation

What reputation? His reputation as a scammer and con-artist?

More likely he's just made enough money for now - he was charging $105,000 per tweet. No doubt he'll be back with another shady as hell scheme in a few months when the money runs out again.
Most likely this would be the case. We dont know on whats behind on that mask on such reasoning of that dumb ass but rest assured he do already make some serious amounts on crypto-field. I didnt know that he do charge up too much with just promoting or per tweet. Mcafee is famous but int the field of traditional assets and stocks thats why he do made impact when he chill out things. For now he must rest because no one do really believe in him anymore and SEC was just a pure alibi.

SEC is starting to say all ICOs are securities. But what if a platform is already built and the token is full utility from the beginning?

Before there were too many crypto enthusiasts that are looking up to him but with his past actions of being a shill, only few believes him now.

There's no reputation that he is longer protecting, it's totally destroyed although there's still hope for him if his prediction about $1,000,000 will happen but no one's believing him with that.

You are right, as this is only business and money. I think if mCafee get a higher offer and payment, then he will come back and want to promote ico again.

maybe that's not the only reason john mcafee to stop promoting ico because it's risking his reputation and not all the ico being promoted succeeds because some are failing or slow to develop.
