Hi Rozo,

Welcome to the world of cryptocurrency and mining Smiley.  I'm glad you chose to point one of your S7s to my pool, and I'm honored that some of my posts were able to provide you with inspiration and/or knowledge.

Do keep your fingers crossed... I know I am hoping for a Christmas miracle or two Tongue

Hello everybody I thought I would introduce myself, I'm Rozo, I live in North Carolina. I'm very new to mining but I have researched it extensively over the last month or so. I just got my miner's maybe 2 weeks ago. Jonny I read through some old post of yours and you impressed me so I decided to take a chance on you and direct one of my S 7 over to your pool with my fingers crossed thanks for taking the time and setting one up.

Much obliged for the explanation.  I'm spoiled with bandwidth, so I sometimes forget that not everyone's got hundreds of megabit connections to the world Smiley

I'll take a look at those minify versions.  Thanks again for the suggestions and the input.  You keep this up and I might be pinging you for a job in real life... we could always use some detail-oriented performance engineers Smiley

Hi Solipsis,

Thanks for the suggestion.  I've looked at the code you mentioned and see that it is indeed full of documentation and comments.  You state that it's 1/10th of my initial page load.  Do you mean just in terms of sheer bytes being sent over the wire?  Is the implication you're making that I'll have better performance if I strip out the majority of the comments/documentation from that file?

LOL... no worries about snooping the source - it's available on github.  I used standard MPOS/NOMP.  I added a few tweaks and fixes on my end to address some of the known issues in them, but otherwise it's pretty much stock.

Yes, I did mean in terms of sheer bytes being sent.  The initial page load is about 1019 KB and 100 KB of that is "jquery.dataTables.js".  Sometimes I forget how much I use slang terms.  "Minifying" JavaScript is using a program similar to a compiler which automatically removes documentation and changes up things to make it more efficient in terms of raw size.  (C.F., "jquery.dataTables.js" and "jquery-2.13.min.js").  I did some looking and the developers of DataTables already publish a minified version here: https://cdn.datatables.net/1.10.10/js/jquery.dataTables.min.js  Using a minified version, would help with bandwidth and also somewhat performance.  It should be a simple drop-in replacement.

I love the pool Jonny.  If I could make one suggestion though: minify your "jquery.dataTables.js" file.  It's 1/10th of the initial page load, and is crammed full of documentation and other stuff you don't really need to send over the wire to clients.  (yeah, I was snooping your source... yes I have weird hobbies)  Keep up the good work!  Grin Grin

I can also vouch for nicehash.

I got lucky the two times I used it at a few different pools and they both went on good luck streaks so the PPLNS worked out in my favor (meaning I earned back what I spent and then some).

nicehash.com usually.  MRR also is a good choice but I usually find their prices to be higher.

Where do you guys rent hash from?

Just curious...

I got screwed over by, what turned out to be a  fraudulent company a couple years ago --which is what prompted me to purchase my own mining equipment -- and have been skeptical of the concept ever since...

Thanks...

This is a legit pool, I was paid .5 btc in that last block

How and how much power you have??? Wink 5 btc???

can more accurately 0.56702425
It's because of how many shares he had when the block was found.  When the pool found its first block, there were very few active miners who had contributed any shares.  Therefore, the block reward was divided up into fewer pieces, with each participant getting a larger portion of the pie.

Yes, icezer0z saw 0.5BTC payout that block.  If my pool were to find a block right now, he'd expect to make an even larger payout.

Yes I got lucky and it was Jonny and like 2 others including me hashing away.  I left and went to Kano because I felt that we were getting nowhere so if I would have stayed it probably wouldve be 0.65 or 0.75 btc.  Plus I rent hash once in awhile.

Unfortunately the block gods were not with me during my rental.  That is sad.  However, we've also gotten a few more miners on the pool and are currently averaging about 40TH.

Thanks to everyone who has joined and I look forward to our next block together Smiley

Well... the new difficulty is here, and it was a pretty nasty change of over 18%.

As soon as the current orders on NH start to taper off and the prices for this difficulty kick in, I'll be renting about a petahash for a while.  Let's hope for a Christmas Miracle Tongue

I'll post here when I do the rental.

Edit: 1.1PH running for the next 8 hours or so.  Let's nail that next block!

yeah, that was extremely good luck for a first block on a new pool.

There are only 13 people with shares in this current block so rewards will be good. All we need is some of that good luck.

Forget about all these newbie accounts appearing and offering up new pools and other scams, go with a pool OP that is trusted and has a good reputation. You need look no further.
