Welcome to the forum.
Some time ago I collected a few resources where you could find the one most appealing according to your aspirations and your abilities:

5 Resources to teach Average Joe about Bitcoin

Hope it helps,
Fillippone
I must confess that those resources have not helped only newbies but some other members also and appreciate your efforts and dedication towards bitcoin and the forum.Collecting resources and data and then summarising them in attracting format is not an easy task and most importantly such threads help to learn a lot about bitcoin and also minor technical knowledge which help them a lot.But the point is members need to take some time to learn from them as they are not providing any fake information to you but will surely enhance your knowledge unlike of those scammers who are giving you misleading and untrue information and promoting shitcoins so stay away from them.Better to be a learner and reading such articles.

Contributing at my level also i made an thread about such books which could help many if they are willing to read them for their sake and have knowledge about btc and other Some books we need to read

Keep your goal to acquire and give knowledge as said above also.

First of all, I'm sorry to read about your previous maltreatment from your husband and my respect for your passion to rise up again. As a woman myself, I didn't have some experience like yours, but I believe you didn't deserve that and deserve chances to learn about cryptocurrency like others people instead. So, it's true that we have to learn from the basics first. When I was learning about cryptocurrency, I try to search for information about Bitcoin first. As I thought it's kind of enough and I know some of the terms, I stepped up to other projects (Altcoin). So, I learn about the wallets, the mechanism, the fundamentals, etc for each project. We can't learn all of the things in an unorganized way, and by the way, this forum is a great source to learn. Keep it up.

For a fact, I appardidnt know anything of bitcoin until I got here. To some extent I started on the wrong foot, got discouraged a few times but, when the encouragement came, I pushed on through the basics and have been about upgrading my knowledge on cryptos ever since. If your really determined to learn a thing or 2 of cryptos, here is probably the best place to start. There is no better way to learn a language than have it spoken and interpreted to you regularly. With bitcointalkforum being the first bitcoin community there is, started by the founder, your sure to learn a lot here.
Your welcome to learn and the forum.

As my name implies, I'm Joy a woman from West African part of the world. I have heard about bitcoin around 2015 but from the part of the world I come from the role is a woman ends in the kitchen, to take care of the family and give birth to children, so this poses as a hindrance to me learning more about Cryptocurrency.
After many years of maltreatment from my husband and my husband's family which subsequently led to our divorce, I have come to pursue my vision of learning Cryptocurrency.
I'm not here just to invest in bitcoin, I don't even have the capital, after the research I have made so far, I have come to realize that Bitcoin is the future and I would not want to miss out of that future.

There are many women like me and some young youth from my part who are enthusiastic about Cryptocurrency but faces difficulties and obstacles as I do, I also would like to share some knowledge I can get with them.

So far I have been able to learn about wallet, blockchain and exchanges, I know these are basic but I believe this is a good starting point for me, during my research of this topic mentioned above, I found some links recommending this forum to me.

why I am here
• I'm here to work on and develop what I have learnt so far
• I'm here to ask questions and also provide some knowledge I'm able to compile along the line.
• I'm here to find out new opportunities about how I can be financially empowered no matter how little.
• I'm here as a motivation for women like me and young youth who finds it difficult to take the bold step.

I have done a little reading of the rule and I think is something I can abide with, I have also learnt some pinned posts and I found them very helpful to me.

Conclusion
I'm glad I found this forum and I hope it helps me achieve all the goals I set for myself.

I am very happy to open my Bitcoin forum. First of all, I feel angry for your domestic abuse. After reading the replies that everyone gave you, I also felt the enthusiasm and sincerity of the forum people. I hope you forget the past, restart your life, and pursue Bitcoin. You will never be alone. Thanks to those who responded to the author, because there are also things I need here.

I have read the forum rules and shared two with you. One is not to plagiarize, it is more important to read the post (for novices, unless you are a hidden master), and the second is that there will be no discrimination in the Bitcoin forum. The content is more than everything. I found a post that may be useful to our novices. Come on.

This article can help novices increase their merits

Also, if any offer seems too good to be true, it probably is.
I think scammers already getting knowledge of this, like the OP replied about you tube, I think scammers has taking some psychology classes, even few of them condemning themselves or acting to condemn themselves to the switch to condemning other scams that doesn't just for victims to fall, I think -Newbies- should learn trading not let false identity traders scam them.

You also have to be very careful about choosing wallet to use storing or managing your funds. There are other fake wallets that looks so legit or looks like the real deal. You also have to be very careful on websites you want to access as it might be a phishing site and will only take your funds once you have done filled up the log in form or access wallet something like that. You might want to search about phishing first but you can use the browser's bookmark feature to save the sites you have visited before and you have to check again the URL or link if it is the correct site you opened.

Everyone have to be very careful while searching for knowledge on YouTube.
Not just on YouTube, every social media platform is filled with scammers who are always coming up with updates was to rip you off or tonsteal your identity for sale. It's usually advisable to have a different device for browsing the internet and another (airgapped) for storing your funds, or much preferably, you keep them on a hardware wallet. This way your finds are not directly exposed to scams or malware's which you can mistakenly click on.

Also, if any offer seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Andreas Antonopoulos is very knowledgeable. However, his books and lectures might be too difficult to follow for those who are just starting out. Some of it is very technical and his videos are quite long.

Instead, I would suggest something easier to digest that could be more suitable for beginners. Check out these two channels and see if you like them:
Coin Bureau
99Bitcoins
I first have to thank you for the information and I have found it very very helpful.
First I respect your recommendations of those YouTube channels and I think the owners of those YouTube channels are giving alot of advises and helpful content for beginners and experts especially the ones you recommended.
There's something I found out from those channels and many others Cryptocurrency channels.
I think all newbies like me have to hear this, There're lot of scammers impersonating to be the owners of these channels and some scammers also claiming to be traders having conversations with a lot of bots accounts in the comment section, Everyone have to be very careful while searching for knowledge on YouTube.
The scammers who uses bot accounts to discuss in the comment section always say things like, I traded with ------- and he gave me profit after 7days or so, and they now reply this comment with upto 50 bots accounts saying the person is real and can help you trade and make profits.
The scammers who impersonate these YouTube channels usually use for instance, Coin Bureau (Coîn Buréau, pin by coin bureau, admin coin bureau, Admin etc)
If you check well you will see that the scammers comments comes in these orders I listed in bracket above, and it isn't highlighted where as YouTube highlights the comments of the channel owners

Take note
Don't fall for scam

Congratulation. You are highly welcome to the bitcointalk family. An interesting and loving family one can ever find his or herself on the face of the planet. And just like what you said, that in the part of Africa where you come from, the role of a woman is only left in the kitchen. But I promise you, from the moment you created this bitcointalk account, that role has been elevated. Thou, it's never too late to start something, just like what you said that you have known about bitcoin since 2015 but never made any effort towards it. But I will like to tell you that it's never too late. As long as you have a goal, stick to it, you shall surely actualise that goal.

ITS NEVER TOO LATE TO START.. I wish you the best of luck

Binance has a bias to recommending their wallets, services it is not the best resource to recommend to a newbie who does not know what Binance is. Instead its better for them to look on the forum of all the services offered and decide for themselves.
Recommended wallets. If people know the rule that non-custodial wallets are better than custodial wallets, they will not use exchange wallets.

With non custodial wallets, let's download them from official websites but the vital step is Verify your wallet. After you finish the verification of downloaded wallet, you can use it to store your Bitcoin.

The forum and crypto community is for ever welcoming to those that truly wants to learn. This is because, the wrong ideas of cryptos strive due to ignorance on the part of many and yet, as much as there are ignorant people, most of them still chooses not to research and learn what cryptocurrency is really about and its utilization.
So, the forum has been made to be a unique place for sharing of ideas and teaching those that are willing to learn. If that be your purpose @OP, your most welcome and be ready for an adventure that would change a lot about what you've known of cryptos. It's a beneficial one and do your best to learn and contribute as you learn. It helps for better understanding and then what you've learnt gets to stick.

Congratulations on your coming into the forum I think your goals aren't what you cannot reach out and achieve Miss/Mrs Joy, when I was a -Newbie- I only thought more of Bitcoin, so much that it's the reason I haven't gotten any alt-coin yet in my possession, so make room into your goals, about Bitcoin and alt-coins, while you save money for bitcoin, alt-coin at cheap rate than Bitcoin May be an alternative, but if you have done your research, you would know that no crypto-currency not even Bitcoin is indemnifying. I am very happy. I have been browsing the forum for a month, but I only registered today and found out that you too. The words you wrote moved me and admired you, bravely say goodbye to my previous life. I believe you will be here. This industry has developed very well.
One more thing I want to say is that you can go and read the posts that have been deposited a long time ago. There are many things to learn from there.

Read at least 1 to 2 threads per day and ask and verify to the community if you have learned it correctly. This can fasten your learning curve by doing it repetitively until you make a habit of reading regularly.

You can start with the following thread:
