I never click on any links and all my coins are stored in long-term cold storage, so I know they are out of reach, but many people have hot wallets and they might be a target.
As a notice, you have to know that these scammers are also individuals around us who may look normal during the day, but at night take up a second identity, or who look normal without a computer or a mobile phone from where they scam people. You have to be generally careful with people both online and offline. There was a story the other day shared by one of our forum members about how he saw a close family member trying to check his phone

Quote
At some point a cousin said to me that... Let me see your beautiful phone so I gave it to him, then I watched to see what he was doing in the phone. I found out he was trying to penetrate on my wallets but unlucky for him that they are all on passwords and at his notice that I am being observant, he began to point out those wallet Apps in my phone that... What App is this and this and this? What is it used for? And suspiciously, he was only after knowing what my wallets Apps are such as the Binance exchange, Ethereum and what I uses them for.

These scammers online are sometimes our close friends, family offline. If they have no remorse stealing from people online, that evil heart will grow colder and one day will have no remorse if he decides to steal from you.

Be as vigilant offline as you are online.

You're right. We don't only have to apply this carefulness in our bitcoin holding online or keeping our private keys secured on private modes, we also have to apply that physical conciousness of how we makes our devices reachable to people.
We should also be aware that people who know more better of you're the ones who'd plan more evil against you. It could act of jealousy or some kind of golddiggers who perches around on how to take an earn they never worked for. So don't get loosed and easily trusting even your relatives.

Don't even try underrating anyone looking stupid and illiterate to the evolutions of today's because desperate persons also do operates on disguise and can be patient and tolerance. Total careful in all ramifications is the watch ward to keeping your funds save.

The Bitcoin price are reaching a new All-time-high again and we all know scammers are trying their best to get their hands on your coins.

I have seen a significant increase in Phishing emails, trying to get me to click on stupid links.

I never click on any links and all my coins are stored in long-term cold storage, so I know they are out of reach, but many people have hot wallets and they might be a target.

So guys... be safe out there and protect your coins. It's crazy season and the scammers are very active.
Yes, that's right, when the bullish season arrives, we often see fraudsters also increasing significantly in the Crypto space to trick targets in any way, be it by sending fake links or by providing bait that can double our crypto balance, this method is always used. by fraudsters from the past until now, but I really wonder why there are still people who believe in the old tricks that are often used by fraudsters even though on this forum many users often remind us not to easily entrust our finances to anyone but ourselves , Could all this happen due to negligence or because of greed, so you have to believe in fraudsters.

It seems that in the bull run market it is no longer strange that market excitement will also be an easy target for fraudsters. Even after bitcoin started its bullish trend and we can see many crypto projects launched like several altcoins. And very often the name of an altcoin that is launched on the top exchange is also followed by the emergence of an imitation altcoin with the same name which was created to trap beginners into the Honeypot. And sometimes many altcoins with almost the same name are also listed on cmc. Moreover, phishing and dusting attacks are no longer counted. So we might also have to warn newbies who come in more often. Because usually bullish market turmoil will also be accompanied by more beginners coming to the crypto industry. Which is usually also the target of fraudsters.

Unfortunately this is very true, as soon as the Bitcoin price rises there will be more scammers switching to the crypto world to try and steal many coins as possible. Crypto investors who have been around during the last few bull runs encountered these scammers before. But this is doesn't mean that we are save from these scammers. There are new scams every year, as the scammers become aware that their old scams are widely known and aren't as successful as before. Now with the values of all our crypto holdings rising it's more important than ever to be cautious when dealing with strangers or being sent any links that we didn't ask for. When it comes to the internet everybody can pretend to be somebody else and it's hard to build up trust. Best to stick to people and websites that we know and that have been around for a long time. This is no guarantee that it isn't a scam, but it makes it less likely than any new company with no track record.

Scammers are always active during the bull market, they go into hibernation during the bear market but immediately they notice the bull are taking over the market, they become active again because they know new and easy targets are coming into the market (the newbies). What those that want to avoid being victims are to do is to first stop storing their coins in a hot wallet, hot wallet can by those that are frequent users of their coins like traders or merchants but as an investors, cold wallet should be your go to wallet.

You should protect yourself by staying informed on things happening in the industry. Some scams are being repeated every bull market but there are some tricks that get invented newly and those are the ones we have to be on the lookout for because they're new and can get hold of both old and new members of the community. Don't click any random links you receive especially those from an unknown source.

Lastly, I'll say just stay true to investing in Bitcoin through DCA and don't get distracted or carried away by all the things that'll be happening in the market. Every bull market comes with its own madness and next year own won't be any different. Alot of scams will be trending and if you don't stay loyal to Bitcoin, you might end up not making any profit from the bull market because of scams you became a victim to.

Scamming is still massively profitable in bear market too, so it's not like anything really changed. Just remember that there's no free money or free golden opportunities, and that Bitcoin is very very unforgiving when it comes to any mistakes, so think carefully about every step and always ask yourself "what can go wrong".

As long as there are gullible people who are taking the bait of these scammers, there will be people who will get scammed. These fraudsters won't stop up until they got their victims exhausted with money.
They will pull a lot of tactics just to get their next naive person. Just consider the fact that they can operate anonymously, so it is like they can be free and cyberspace is their playing ground.

I've noticed that bad actors are working extra hard to send me password reset requests on an email and account connected to some cryptocurrency services I no longer use. It's as if they think they will magically gain access to my accounts through that. Anyway, there are also these investment scams going around when the price of bitcoin is marching up. They use the price action to their narrative hoping to get some money along the way which, hopefully they don't get.

Being extra vigilant during bull runs should be a must. You're already getting profits by just having bitcoins, don't let greed take over you in any way.

I think that will be one of the major routes that scammers are employing these days. So be careful on how you click links in your email. Most of them will have a title heading seemingly coming from official channels but carefully check the source and the email ad is weird.

Great advice, and yes. Do not click on any link in your emails and never open and try to figure out the "Spam" Folder. It's literally spam.
And one more thing, do not open any PDF file you receive from someone. It can be malicious too and can empty your wallets (mostly Metamask and extensions).
So take care of your funds, and keep growing. <3
Even the email which have not yet been marked as spam on my mail box if I receive any email from anyone which I’m not expecting email from especially on my private email which I don’t share out to anyone, the first thing I do first is to report the mail as spam then delete it in other for me not to come across it by mistake again.

Don’t know how the scammers use in sending out some mails most times that it enters one’s inbox like a real email coming from a corporate body which can’t be spam but one’s we open the mail you will notice the body and content of the mail are all fraudulent.

We may be in fishing season but this never stops despite there being extensive campaigns to disseminate one of the most common scams.

Protecting privileged information related to bitcoin is only part of the entire associated security framework.  Sometimes security weaknesses are where you least imagine, so it is not just about protecting your keys, but about being comprehensive in security.

Just as holders and investors see a price fall as a window to to get more coins, also those wcmers find high price times as golden opportunities for the grabs. Now look, the scam rate during bull runs are just quite appalling. Its common sense that high price= more scams.
And if anybody else here have  a different opinion, I'm just so curious to see what it is.
All the victims of scams I know  all happened during high price times😂
I'm not saying it doesn't happen any other time, but, you get my point.

Yes I heard the news and the notification of the hike of the price to the All Time High (ATH) today and I was amazed to heard that because I was expecting that to happen after the bull market. And also this has been discussed for a long time about the scammers roaring around the internet and looking for whom to devour. So avoid all the influencers and any link that is suspicious. Only visit legit domain and not a referral links.

Scammers use to send spam emails and if you don't know them, and click the link then your system would be infected with virus and your coins will be stolen. So avoid all those things.
If you don’t fall in their spam emails and phishing links, that won’t guarantee that you are free from being scammed. Scammers will definitely find new ways of strategies in this bullish market just to get us up in this crazy season. So it’s actually a must to be more wary and cautious when it comes to securing our investments, monitor your wallet most often and check if your coins are still there or have suddenly vanished. And most importantly, always keep up with the latest information about scamming and hacking so you can also prepare yourself for that.

Many are into the emails spam and making you think that you've got some giveaway that you haven't claimed yet.

They disguise like that and if you're a gullible guy, you'd fall for that and that's why many are being phished through email because these forms of emails are encouraging them to click a link for such claims.

Or some scary email like your wallet have been hacked and you just realize that you didn't used any email upon creation of a wallet.

Bitcoin reaching a new all-time high have been the most talked about discussion in the forum since the beginning of the year. With all this information flying around about scammers, one should have already thought about it and know that they need to be on the watch out for scammers. I have seen how a lot of people have complained on how scammers infiltrate their wallets and take away all of their savings, it is paramount to keep reiterating on this, most especially for newbies as scammers will always be looking for a new technique to use and scam their victims once again. It’s the most sensitive time in the crypto industry, so we should all trade carefully and stay away and know when a scam is being portrayed.
Be more cautious in holding your coins this time. Most especially that bitcoin price has already break the record of the last ATH, I’m sure a lot of scammers at the moment are eyeing on every bitcoin investor and even send strange links and emails. Once you open it, consider it you fall on their trap. One day, when you wake up, you’ll only be alarmed seeing all your coins have gone.

This is a reminder to always check your wallet more often. And never ever dare to disclose your private keys even to your closest friend or family member, this is not the time to trust other people but only trust yourself.

The crypto world can be a goldmine – or a feeding ground for those looking to exploit unsuspecting miners.  Just like with any kind of investment, there are always those lurking in the shadows, waiting to snatch your hard-earned cash.

People offering seemingly "free" crypto play on two things: greed and lack of knowledge.  A hefty chunk of Bitcoin – especially in a country where the equivalent is significant – sounds too good to be true, because it probably is.  Scammers dangle these fake rewards to lure in the unwary, hoping they'll blindly jump in without asking questions.

Education is the ultimate weapon against these digital bandits. Spreading awareness, like you're doing here and with your friend, is crucial.  People need to understand that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I noticed as well that especially on Telegram I receive way more scam messages during a bull run rather than during a bear market. And the funny thing is that during the bear market they usually use old guys' pictures and during the bull run they pretend to be pretty girls. I wonder if there is some psychology behind this choice, like that when things go bad you may believe an old guy because it sounds more reassuring and when there is excitement for a bull run people are more likely to listen to a girl? Roll Eyes

The idea is very simple in a bull market, the mainstream media and everywhere there is talk of bitcoin and hence many people invest in bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Since many people are investing in crypto, the scammers will also try to scam innocent newbies in the crypto world. They may deploy the same time and energy in the bear market to scam people but since there are fewer people interested in bitcoins at that time, the scammers may have a difficult time finding people to scam as compared to the bull market crypto users.

Also, there are many tactics to scam people like phishing sites, making scam exchanges and of course, the attraction of girls is one way to get hold of people's cryptocurrencies.

Scammers are aiming for crypto right now since it is making a noise due to Bitcoin hitting a new ATH.
There would be so many newbies who would surely be a victim of those scammers, so many fake online traders who would try to guide them or investment schemes.
I heard one of my co-worker talking about investing in a trader he met online and told him that most of those traders are fake and he would just get scammed if he invest on it, then after few days he did confirm that it was a scam and thank me for telling him about it.
Scammers that you mentioned target newbies on social media platforms, mostly Telegram, by saying that they are traders or they know some expert trader who would help them earn a lot of money and newbies think that they are telling the truth and they have got an opportunity that would make them rich in no time. However, when we talk about scammers who use bull run in their favour and get benefits from it tend to create fake projects that they advertise as legit projects to attract investors and when they get some investors, they run away with their funds.

This is why, when the bull run is around the corner, investors need to become more vigilant and careful when joining new projects and making investments in them.

Yep, I notice that too, since the beginning of the bull-run the amount of scam email was increasing. But in my case the most annoying one is Social Media DMs and tag, basically I am now unfollowing almost all of Bitcoin and Crypto related news account, thats might be the reason those scammers are sending me DM.

But I haven't found any new MO, all of them are using similar narrative with giveaway or airdrop with phising link, nothing fancy, at least for now.
