Yep, I notice that too, since the beginning of the bull-run the amount of scam email was increasing. But in my case the most annoying one is Social Media DMs and tag, basically I am now unfollowing almost all of Bitcoin and Crypto related news account, thats might be the reason those scammers are sending me DM.

But I haven't found any new MO, all of them are using similar narrative with giveaway or airdrop with phising link, nothing fancy, at least for now.

Exactly Social media should definitely be a place you stay very clear off at this particular time. Some of those links sent by those reputable people or crypto influencers you follow might not even be the ones sending those messages because many of them are getting their accounts hacked and the hackers target their followers since they know most of them shill better opportunities to their followers. Others might have share those links out of ignorance that it is malicious because them too do not sometimes do due diligence on the things they share.

One thing OP hasn’t added although is mostly connected to Altcoins is never connect your wallet to any website for any airdrop if you must do it then let it be with a fake wallet.

yeah, and it's now getting worse because the verified check mark now can be purchased by anyone, people used to be able to recognized a public figure from that verified checkmark. All that being said, I guess if anyone has enough knowledge and experience they would know that anything that is too good to be true would definitely be a scam.

Scams are very common and with the increase in the value of bitcoin the number of scams has increased so be careful in the beginning. Hackers can easily steal information from android phones so avoid sharing your private information while installing apps. New projects will create various traps for scamming will show greed and cannot be interested in them. Go ahead by investing in the right coins.

If you are investing such a high amount, then it’s obvious that you need to be extra careful to manage the investments. Always double check the emails before clicking on any links. Move your coins to hardware or offline wallets rather than storing in exchanges and at last don’t invest in ponzi schemes which provides multiplication of investment due to the rise in price of the coins. You just need to open your eyes and observe with full determination, in this manner only you can be saved from scams.

Right. If you're throwing big bucks into the game, be extra cautious. Ditch storing everything on exchanges and  go for hardware or offline wallets for extra safety like steer clear of those shady schemes promising crazy returns because they're usually trouble. Cheers to smart investing

Scammers are never on vacation, so although in times when the price goes up, they probably increase their activity - what difference does it make if someone receives 1 or 100 spam/phishing e-mails today? If you don't know what you're doing, even 1 such e-mail will be enough to cause damage, so I don't see that anyone is in more danger today than they were 2 or 3 months ago.

I don't think that's an issue antivirus can solve.
~snip~

Of course, AV are not tools that can prevent every malware or virus from penetrating our device, but a good AV will always warn of danger, especially if it is a malicious file that has already been marked as a potential threat. My AV scans every file I try to download, and shows how many times that file has been downloaded so far (based on the user's access) and gives a recommendation for it, or automatically quarantines it.

Once a man, twice a child!
I advise everyone to have antiviruses, I haven't had one yet. And also, in no case do not click on links in suspicious emails.
I don't think that's an issue antivirus can solve. Malware don't just happen on our systems/devices. Before getting an antivirus for our device we've to first be the security we seek outside and that's where your second advice comes in. It's a notable thing to do and I think newbies (maybe some old members too) should pay attention to that. Don't click on every link sent to you. Be sure of the source first before exercising your fingers on the keyboard. Be weary of anyone hastening you up to do one task or the other or even an investment. Once you spot any level of impatience with them, that's when you should slow down. Don't allow anyone hurry you up in this space. That's one of the weak links scammers like to explore.

We really have to be careful not to be tempted by the offers we receive, especially from emails that come. Scammers will always try to trick you and take your money without you even realizing it.
It's only by remaining careful and alert that we can always avoid being fooled by offers that look as good as they are. Maybe we have experienced scams before, so we can remain alert because the scammers will definitely use many methods to deceive us again.
We must really protect the coins we own and not be tempted by anything. We have to be responsible with these coins so only being careful can do this.

You have given very good advice, OP, which is quite apt for the current times. Because the Bitcoin bullrun has already started. And as Bitcoin continues to rise in popularity, scammers are coming up with new ways to scam us. And we also ignorantly or unintentionally fall into the trap of scammers, which is a huge harm to us later. Especially those who are new to crypto are the first targets of scammers, who drain their funds by tricking them with various tempting offers. So it is important to be very careful to keep our wallets safe and avoid clicking on phishing emails. I am responsible for protecting my wallet.

The Bitcoin price are reaching a new All-time-high again and we all know scammers are trying their best to get their hands on your coins.

I have seen a significant increase in Phishing emails, trying to get me to click on stupid links.

I never click on any links and all my coins are stored in long-term cold storage, so I know they are out of reach, but many people have hot wallets and they might be a target.

So guys... be safe out there and protect your coins. It's crazy season and the scammers are very active.
Thank you for the reminder but yeah in this kind of moment I am wearing my shield doubled than in a normal days because I know that we are in target of bad elements not just scammers but also hackers and shillers
clicking links anywhere is like putting your self into danger , I rather search for my own than clicking shared links aelswhere .

There was 16 phishing attempts in my "inbox" this morning and the funny thing is that it is trying to target hardware wallets.

I had 3 emails claiming that I need to click on whatever link to enable 2FA for a Ledger and Trezor wallets and if this is not done before a specific date, then these wallets will be blocked. (I do not have a Trezor or a Ledger wallet... ooops)

They just mass mail this nonsense and hope someone click on the links.  Roll Eyes
I haven't received any yet but I am getting to know detailed on how this scammers work. My question is, if I have these wallets just by mere clicking on the link without carrying out any 2FA will my coins be automatically stolen?

What kind of email provider are you using? I use Gmail and I barely get any suspicious looking phishing emails. All of them end up in the Spam folder anyway. It's funny that the scammers are working harder when the Bitcoin price is high. The smarter decision for them would be accumulating more BTC when the price is low and keep HODLing until it hits a new ATH. I'm expecting another big exchange making a big exit scam, while claiming that it got hacked by some mysterious "hackers". This might lead to a BTC price correction, but we aren't in 2017 anymore and the bull run might continue. Grin

Great advice, and yes. Do not click on any link in your emails and never open and try to figure out the "Spam" Folder. It's literally spam.
And one more thing, do not open any PDF file you receive from someone. It can be malicious too and can empty your wallets (mostly Metamask and extensions).
So take care of your funds, and keep growing. <3
Scams are everywhere. Whether online of offline, you have to secure your investment 100% so that they won’t see any holes that will give them hints to steal your coins. And curiosity sometimes might be misleading. Don’t be deceived with different emails and try to open them, it will create immediately an access to your investment that will lead them to steal your bitcoins. As much as possible, have a separate phone for your personal email account and another phone for your bitcoin wallet. So that even if your email account will be hacked, at least your bitcoin wallet will not be put into danger.

Thanks for bringing this to the notice of this forum because I have already started receiving such emails and links through random telegram groups and to be honest someone new to crypto will end up falling for their trap.

It's simple don't click on any suspicious link or links where they promise you profits because nobody does anything for free either they want to get you subscribed for their premium channels or else scam you. There are lot of ways how these scammers pull the sc hence it's better not to click anything new and not to tray any unknown source.

If we are talking about phishing emails or emails that have malicious malware, then it is best to do prevention. If you have email apps, then turn on your email filter, which will automatically distinguish those emails that look suspicious and dump them in the trash or spam sections of your email. I'm sure all email applications have those features, because that's the feature that is most important in order to protect their users from unwanted and malicious emails that may scam or hack people. Truly, the age of bitcoin right now is at its peak. Is there less than $2k left before bitcoin reaches its ATH, or will it surpass it? We never know, so until then, protect your assets at all costs because there are many lurking there to get and steal all your hard-earned profits and assets. Remember,  prevention is better than anything else, so better secure all your accounts that are connected to crypto currency.

With the extraordinary increase even now that we are at $67k, it is certain that there will be more and more fraudsters trying to take the portopolio that we have so that in this case it should be better to continue to be vigilant because after all, with the current situation there are certainly not a few people who are trying to double the bitcoin they have (for beginners) which sometimes they are actually persuaded by this kind of seduction because there is indeed a promise where doubling is instant for your portopolio.

This is not a new thing but there are still a lot of people who are tempted by things like this which makes the situation a little complicated because they don't realize that it is precisely things like this that sometimes make us forget that we are being trapped.

Secure your seed so you don't get caught off guard and don't fall for the promises of multiple benefits for beginners because this can lead you to regret.

Generally, scammers will never stay out of a place where there is money and they focus on such place if it involves new people. I'm every Bitcoin halving, we do have some new set of investors that has not experienced bull run before and because of the excitement and quick profits they are programmed in the head to make, they quick jump on anything that has to do with Bitcoin making money. What I think everyone should do right now is to get educated on all forms of scams and updated ways of losing Bitcoin to scammers.

People should also learn to be independent of Google, your search contents are personalized and because they are known for adverts, they will surely bring you one or two Bitcoin adverts or websites fake ads that you may not expect and since they are lazy to carry out personal research on the adverts and money they collected, people fall victims to those adverts as they are usually full of scam. This is why they don't accept Bitcoin ads but because they accept some exchange adverts, scammers do use the advantage to phish aor clone a fake one with fake address.

Hmm, that's concerning. In the days of high gains everyone enjoys the good gains but keeping those gains safe is an important task to do so, I almost got trapped last day, not for Bitcoin because I always get more conscious about my Bitcoin wallets, I was scrolling the random airdrop pages to check my legibility and found an OP Airdrop unclaimed on the explorer and when I checked and tried to claim just before connecting wallet I came to know it's just a copy page and that's a random shit coin which is getting shown on the explorer.

In whatever assets your funds, are be sure to secure them, well. Try to use an extra device for the wallets, to avoid such phishing attacks. Double-check the link of any Dapp you are using because clone pages are also getting good SEO and you might get trapped by them.

Thanks for providing an important information on this time. In the meantime, the bull run of the market has started and the scammers have also started spreading their nets. The possibility of falling into that trap is very high at any time due to a little carelessness. Precautions should be taken to stay as safe as possible. Be careful not to click on phishing sites or phishing emails. Double check if the wallet is backed up or not. No one is safe here unless you take care of yourself.

The tune of bitcoin at now is blinking so attractively which I know that as much it's impressing me, so also it attracting scammers who feels as the market goes high so they stands advantage to benefit from it too as if they invested their money in there
It's very true that the value of Bitcoin as at now is like millions of dollars in the bullion van which armed robbers are on the target to hit and rob. There so scammer's are sure of operating with different strategies that might be suspicious or unsuspicious. So it is a good reminder letting us know that we've golden fund there in our wallets because the market volume is never hidden even to those who doesn't Invest in the bitcoin.
