However a switch that turns all amounts into real time dollar amounts would be cool.

Improvement idea:

With the bitcoin-price rising to new heights every day, it's probably cooler for gamblers to bet "integers" than "floats" (i.e. bet 5 mbtc instead of 0.005 btc). Guess that would make people feel better about themselves when betting.
Since wales probably dont like the change, maybe it can be made an optional choice via some checkbox.

I don't know if that's a great idea.  I can see a scenario where someone accidentally bets 10 BTC when they meant to bet 10 mbtc or vice versa they make a mbtc wager and win when they thought they were betting BTC.  I suppose if the price keeps going ballistic eventually we will switch to mbtc but I am only warning of a potential drawback.

Changing denominations is a risky idea. People will bet the wrong amount.

The format right now is plenty fine. I just think the site needs a makeover that's all.

Hi Doog,

I'm suro(122865)

I've lost big yesterday - a little bit too much.

I come from Poland - a country in EasternEurope - where quality of life is
far behind so called civilized world. I am a father to two wonderful boys
and I sear all I did for them - but I was stupid. Bitcoins seemed to give
me the oportunity to earn a little bit more, to provide for my family and
children - and I did gain... but unfortunatelly I've read an article about
Nakova, found your website... and commited the sin of gambling. I was
winning in the beginning - and than I started loosing Sad.

But the last yesterday's bet was something I was not ready for... I feel
guilty, I fell angry for myself, I let myself down. Everythinng is my
fault... I know. That was the most cruel lesson I have received in my life.
But the 100 BTC I've lost was the BTC I've bought some time ago... I can
live my pitiful life without it... but the last 30 - was - no kidding
almost everything I've managed to accumulate in 15 years of my adult
life... Now I don't know how to tell my wife... what to do... I'm afraid...

please forward my mail to some top investors who got most of my lost
money... They are wise, they don't gamble what they cannot loose... Maybe
they are merciful as well and could at least make the blow a little less
painfull.

I swear to you and to myself I will never gamble again - not a penny, not a
satoshi... I will leave everyting as an investment on the site...

And one more thing - please send me the chart so I can set it as a
wallpaper... to remind me of the stupid thing I've done...

Since I don't have a way to contact investors individually, I asked him about posting his message here.  He agreed.

His stats back up his story:

wagered: 6178.35237261
bets: 20257
balance: 0
profit: -130.22485193
losses: 10297
wins: 9960

If anyone wants to help him out, his address is 1PXhD54Wsy2R7At58FAePnT3GJ1i3N8pET.

Thanks.

So, he wants the money back from investors and then dilute their share on bankroll?  Grin Investing bitcoins is very risky too, if 30 BTC is so much for him, he should better stay away from bitcoins at all, not even thinking about investing.

Good gesture for doing that dooglus. Gambling can be entertaining, if it's stakes you can live without. I am a small investor, will give him back my 1% edge over his bet. That is 1% out of my share from his 130BTC.

I really hope this story, for the very least, teaches a few more people who read this not to gamble with what you can not afford to lose.

Didn't dooglus post some stats to back up the story?

The stats at best back up that he lost X coins.

I keep hoping for some site innovation.  I realize this is the best site out there but I know it can improve.  Hire a helping hand to help cover some customer support if possible?

The two big ideas I'd like to see implemented are:

-Figure a way to lure the Chinese market to this site if possible.  Chinese compatibility & advertising on Chinese sites.  Possibly even a 'lucky' Chinese skin that could be colored red and other things they like.  Missing out on a huge market like this would be a shame with your first mover advantage.

-Add a few slot machine derivative spinoffs.  I don't gamble personally but I feel that if I did it would be appealing to have a choice to win big without the need to lose every single roll (.0001%s) or wager everything I had.  My idea is to have a 99% payback structure that could offer a variety of jackpots of whatever but also have smaller paybacks while still allowing them to roll high/low.
I.e. if they roll .0001 = mega jack pot.
2nd tiered prize from .0002-whatever
...
micro prizes from 10-30
loss from 30.0001-99.9999   (all reversed if they roll hi)
it would all be tallied up and paid out in such a way that they receive a 1% penalty just like the normal dice game.

There could be a few different manipulations of the above offered of varying risk/reward/pay structure.  There could be a Dice/Slot button up top somewhere so they can rotate between the two easily.

If that idea sucks, just a few ways to spice up the gambling component I think can only be a good thing in the long run.  I have other ideas but those are my favorite two that I'll share for now that really don't seem terribly difficult to execute.

I'm just somewhat invested in this site because I want to continue adding funds into the site as it succeeds like a lot of others.

Is he still offering refunds?

I'm really suspicious whether this really was a hack.  He distributed lots of Bitcoin through coinlenders and he also had lots of investments through his hedge fund BTCINVEST.  And he also had a gigantic advertising scheme.  I got 0.12 BTC from offering this add.  But, that went to inputs.io, I was lucky to withdraw that to just-dice before it got "hacked".  He must have offered a lot of btc through advertising but most people might have forgot and not actually redeemed the bitcoins.

I think I read he was hoping to sort out the inputs.io refunds before going on to coinlenders ones.

You might want to edit your signature - it's still advertising inputs...

Last week was a pretty good one for investors, with the site profiting over 1000 BTC:

Another better than expected week, making a little over 600 BTC this time:

About 450 BTC profit this week, less than the ~500 BTC expected for the week based on the amount wagered.

As usual, the investor balances as they stood after the weekly commission run are posted here:

he maybe should not have done that before he figured out where it really went?  Cool

I had no claim on TF's coins.  I was holding them as a deposit against any inputs.io losses.  Once he had repaid JD for the 42ish BTC that was stolen he was free to withdraw his coins.

It's really none of my business "where it went", and I also have no way of finding out.
