BLOCK!

They seem to be like busses, nothing for ages and then two come along at once.

Ha ha and I didn't even have to light a cigarets to get this bus to come 10 seconds after lighting up.

But under an hour for the last one is pretty sweet.

Bloodbath... COIN ETF got denied by SEC.

What's an ETF? an altcoin?

Exchange traded fund. Got denied because SEC concluded it cannot exercise oversight on the major bitcoin exchanges.

Ah, thanks.  Do we want the SEC trying to exercise oversight?  Probably not.

Probably not, but I am not sure what "exchange oversight" has to do with an ETF Huh

Are there any stats of what was the longest time in between blocks? I know statistics and all, but this really seems kind of long... Maybe solo mining is not such a good idea after all  Shocked
Time is not relevant, % is what decides.

If a pool is half the size, then the blocks will always take twice as long.
If a pool is twice the size, then the blocks will always take half as long.
In all (3) cases if the pool is paying the same level of reward, you expect the same reward.

The longest block was the 1st pool block.
25.5 days - Diff was 55.77%

The largest % block so far is ... 745%

Though I've no idea what solo mining has to do with it Tongue

Yes, right. The %age is what is comparable. 745% wow, that is quite a statistic anonomaly. Solo mining? Because I am thinking of trying my luck on that with a handful of TH/s...

Sorry for OT,

But Slush hasn't had a block in over 7 hours, and that's with over 209 PH.

It's time for the blocks to fall!!!!

Slushypoop has had a bit of extra long blocks in the last few days. and Thats with a lot of added hash power they have picked up over there so a 100% luck block should be about a bit under 3 hrs on slush with the hr they have.  and I seen a few blocks that were like 12 and 13 hours apart there. which is the same as a block taking us about 4 days to crack.

and  antpoo right now looks as if they have had so many extra long blocks there over all pool luck % is down to 50% and on there graph its the lowest dip in the line right now for how far back there histoy graph goes back.

I've been watching them both for a few days and its making it seem as if the luck isnt just us getting these long to crack blocks.

Now for something that is on topic.

Looking at shares performance - specifically my Avalons vs Ants and I see that the Avalons have a MUCH higher percentage of Invalids than the Ants do.
Condensed sorted by Invalids

Details as to what the Invalid share are
https://i.imgur.com/AaPRuarl.png

As one can see most of the Avalon Invalids are either Dupes or Stale shares.
Avalon workers used:
Avalon721_1 is 1 controller, 3x 721's in one chain, 1x 741 on its own port.
Avalon741_CM is one controller and 1x 741 miner.

Should these Invalids be of concern? Why are the Avalons throwing so many? As in over 10x and more. The s7 and s9's have far far less stales/dupes per-THs.
Well I did reply to this same question when huynhdat1989 asked ...

However, a list of info:
Hash rate shown doesn't include invalids, thus reducing invalids will increase your hash rate by the % you reduce it.

Bitmain miners hide stale shares, though in your pics the bitmain range itself is 3.28 times from lowest to highest.

I mine from the other side of the planet and get the same sort of numbers, only a little higher.
(as you can see under Workers->K.Workers on the web site)

I guess that '~0.75%' stales may be standard with them since I've checked some large 'farms' of them and they are around that figure also.

My 120 x A721s hosted in Canada, averages about 0.5 to 0.7% invalid shares.

Anything more than 1% probably will be a concern.

Other than that, I would not worry too much about this factor because there are hardly any serious downtimes with Avalons. Its the S9s that are giving me the white hairs.

Jaja.

I've put an old metal trunk near the outflow and some rocks I found in Guatemala near the exhausts of the S9s to help radiate the heat.  It's nice ... reminds me of my heating in Maastricht, NL, during study abroad.  I have not had to use my 1500W heater at all.  It's great :fire:
