So part of that freaking damn update for Windows 10 version 1607 failed.  Angry WINDOWS UPDATE = CONSTANT HEADACHE.

Like it's done on about 1/2 of the PC's at work that have win10. What a sorry piece of excuse for an OS. The thing tries to be the swiss army knife of OS's. It tries to do everything instead of trying to do a few really important things well. Instead it does a lot of things mostly poorly.

I apologize for my OT rants. Let's see some blocks fall into pockets!!  Shocked
Good luck folks!  Smiley Smiley Smiley

Hey all! Smiley

While waiting on my other PAINFULLY SLOW windoze laptop to update, I just dropped in to see how ya'll are doing. Glad to see the pool is above expected. Sorry to see that the expected is so low, however.
Man, if I had 10, 15 or even 1PH, I'd point it all at Kano this instant and leave it here!!

It's truly heartbreaking for me to see such a large majority of the worlds hash rate controlled and centered in one area. And there is not thing-one me, you or anyone else can do about it as individuals.

I just bought a Powerball lottery ticket today on the way home from work. If I miraculously get struck by lightning twice while sitting here at my desk (which are about what the odds would be..) I would buy a farm full of Avalons and point them all in proper, ratio to a carefully selected combination of Western pools.
Then with the many millions I have left over, I would hire the brightest minds from the world over to create the absolute best miner the world has ever seen. My miners would all come with random pool IP addresses as defaults. Everyone being equal as the production line hums along producing below $1,000 miners with hash speeds somewhere between 15-20TH each.  Grin

Okay, well I think my windoze laptop has rebooted for the final time and I can actually get back to being somewhat productive. I have spent the last hour cursing the damn piece of hardware/software.
My fantasy dreamland is over with for now. But if you see a few hundred PH magically appear out of nowhere in the next few months, you can think of me. Maybe I'm the one!  Cheesy

Best wishes and blessings, one and all!!!!
Time for some BLOCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We saw this in the past, it might be someone with a fat click error like 0.01 without the 0.0 ;-)

I think a pool admin did return the BTC to the owner of a big fees mistake last year. Cannot remember which one.

I remember that happening as well...before my time in this pool...can't remember which, either. But then, I usually can't remember what I had for dinner last night....comes with living hard and old age, methinks.  Kiss

97 btc fee and anthill or f2pool sent it back.

but like you  i lived hard for quite a few years  so quite a bit gets forgotten.

Be gentle on both of you please ;-)

What were you guys talking about..I can't remember  Huh Roll Eyes

Hi Kano,

Could you give me all the server we have and list them on the home page kano.is? (I heard we have New York....)

Regards,
nya.kano.is (new york)
de.kano.is (frankfurt)
jp.kano.is (tokyo)
nl.kano.is (amsterdam)
sg.kano.is (singapore)

... and at 5:48 UTC, and intermittently over the hour after that, there were network problems at the NL node.
Thus anyone mining to NL would probably have had a couple of failovers during that time.

Wanted to chime in on the A7 741 and 721.
They both seem to get pool side around 10% more consistent.
I found the reason for that slightly higher invalid rate, was stale.
I have a bad connection, so I made it so I send around 1 share every 10 seconds via difficulty.
Now I'm normal, these babies love this pool.

Yum these transaction fees are tasty.
Yeah that last one is actually the highest we've had since the halving.
I had to modify my payout processing scripts yesterday coz they didn't allow '14' Cheesy
(there are lots of checks and balances in the processing)

What is the average time to achieve 100% 5Nd at this hashrate?
The payouts help page says what it is based on the current 'day' hash rate (though that does change around a bit)
https://kano.is/index.php?k=payout

As VRobb said a bit over 5 days or
Quote
The pool hash rate for the last day is roughly 20.66PHs which means the 5Nd 'ramp' is roughly 5days 2hrs.

FWIW...someone asked, so...I think Kano has metered his 741 as well, but this is what I'm finding after three days online. It's running 7.5-8TH steadily; temps 31/95; fan runs around 65-70% depending on time of day/ambient. Meter showed as much as 1400W (this is at 110V/60HZ) at the wall when ramping up, but is now running fairly steadily at 1200W or less. It's drawing almost identically to the A721 next to it, and to the A6 it replaced. I'm in the tropics here, with ambient a bit low at night this time of year (around 60F) and around 80-85F during the day, but the temp in my flat is around 75 during the day due to the trade winds and good circulation. No A/C.

It's running on the same RPi3 as the 721. Also a useless factoid, but caught my attention...these two boxes (721/741) put out more hash than all the S2s, S3s, and S7s I've ever owned all put together. Ain't technology grand?  Cool

EDIT: I take that back...not the S7s...they're still cranking away in Sled Dog Land...but still holds for the two S2s, ten S3s, and assorted mongo GPUs in the early days.

I upgraded all mine to v2, had to adjust the starting frequency for most of them but if they are in a datacenter kept nice and cool they should be fine.

If you run them at home, then no don't upgrade to v2, you lose the ability to control the fans as it all becomes automated in the software. So they run hotter and faster.

That being said, any new S9/T9 will have the same v2 firmware so you would be in the same boat if buying new machines.

I did bring the S9B1 to Kano and upgraded to v2.  It did not seem to have any problems and the Temp(PCB) are 53 54 54 and Temp(Chip) are 86 87 86, so all is good!
Thanks for the advice - That is what I appreciate about this pool. I may bring over some more hash later on.

Mine On!
