my batch 2 s-9's are shipped.  so the solar array will go from 25th to 50 th   .  I am hoping the new fans ordered will help to keep the gear a bit cooler.

Mine too  Cheesy

Can't wait to plug them to kano.is

My S9 Batch 3 is up and running on kano.is...the speed and HW errors of each board were looking good and holding right at 12.87 THs (13THs on the pool) for about 45 minutes.  The temps on each board were about 57, 87 and there were only about 3 errors on each board.  Then the 3rd board dropped to zero and eventually dropped out of the picture.  Now I have about 8.3THs total running with the first 2 boards.  Soft reboots have not revived that dead board yet.  I may have one of those with a faulty board and I have Toomim looking into it for me...

that sucks.   as always  try a lower freq.

Thanks Phil, I lowered the frequency to 550 and that board came back to life...whew!  It doesn't seem to like running at 600.  I'm going to let it stabilize overnight before I do anything else to it.  In the morning I'll try different frequencies to see how close I can get back to 600.  It's holding right at 12.66THs on the Kano pool at the moment but it's only been running about 30 minutes so far.  Grin

EDIT:  It is now up to 12.97THs on the Kano pool...if it stays like that overnight then maybe a frequency of 550 will be alright!  Cheesy  The specs for an S9 Batch 3 is 12.93TH/s ±5%  Grin  That ±5% hashing range is 12.18THs and 13.58THs so even at a lower frequency it's right in the mix there.  The HW error rate is 0.0008% so that is looking great!

I'm glad to see that we got that long block out of the way...  Cheesy

Well, it's been 24 hours with my S9 and the third blade simply will not work.  We first dropped the frequency to 550 to get it back online but it eventually dropped out again.  Then we dropped to 500 to get it going again and it eventually dropped out again.  Now we can't get that board to hash at all and I will have to start trying to figure out how to get this thing replaced...bummer!  Angry

We disconnected the power from the bad blade and now it's just hashing on the 2 good blades...
Underclocking worked once, so I'd try turning the machine off for 10min and boot it at 500 again.

that really does suck. and that is more like a cold solder joint and when the board warms up the solder moves it  a bit causing an issue. you may need replacement.  don't feel bad my gear is being delayed a day and is subject to some kind of tax.

Woooohooo  my first kano and my first block ever !!!

Thanks to all of you guys(and lady's) for all the previous blocks.

That's so nice 1 month in the bitcoin world and i hit one with my single Antminer S7 overclocked this afternoon

By the way two more antminer s7 are coming

(sorry if my english don't sounds really good i have never learned it at school)

Your English is better than that of the majority of graduate psych students I taught...for whom it was supposed to be their first language.  Undecided

Congrats to you. I've been at this for a while with 9 machines and still have to hit a block. Welcome to ckpool/kano.is.

Just saw the notes on psu's...I've been using units I get from Centrix/Kickasspower that are 1KW HP server bricks, using blade connector adapters. One powers two S3s, or two of them power an S7 (one supplying two boards w/6 PCI's, the other supplying the third board and the controller w/4). I would suspect it would handle an S9 just fine as well (as each brick is only having to put out less than 80%), but won't know until I can try it. They're cost effective. Now that I'm shipping units off, however, that's a moot question. I'm letting Cryptoboreas use their units.

Also glad to hear that board issue got tweaked.

Thanks for the input...got the drive thing covered...my mining buddy here found a new SSD he forgot he had that I can use. I can get stuff from anywhere anyone else can...the FedEx guy has his own coffee cup on the shelf here... Undecided just still having some issues with finding vendors that directly take BTC. Places like Newegg can only accept it if the actual supplier takes it; they're like Amazon in that respect. They are not the root supplier of most of what they sell these days.

I've got half a dozen used HDDs around here, but don't want to replace the drive with another used one. Hopefully this drive will keep on trucking for another 24, and then I get to do the onerous cloning thing, etc. Just glad I don't have to shut down my S3s and network whilst switching.

Mine on.

With the old DE node, about 2/3 of miners have moved to the new one already.
I'll stop the old DE node at 10:00 UTC (about 1.5hrs from now), and that will just push the rest over.

Basically: I just stop the connections and each miner will immediately reconnect and be on the new DE node.
This was done at 10:01 UTC
About 10% of workers haven't reconnected yet, so I'm guessing they may be poxy rentals that don't reconnect properly.
Hash rate on the new DE node is up to 90% of the old+new total also.

SG node disconnected everyone on the SG node for a couple of minutes there at 09:40 UTC
All resolved shortly after that and everyone is back connected now also.

fast guess is the psu runs out of gas at the 600 setting.  do you know what the psu is?

back to the blocks  we are so close to going to:

" a lighter shade of pale"  when it comes to the blocks  So  we need four more  block to come very: fast and furious.

IF we pop 4 blocks in under 90 minutes we will get to that perfectly pale green we all love to see.

Actually I don't really know...It's a 220V 80+ Platinum with 93.5% efficiency rating that Jonathan Toomim provides but I have never heard what brand it is.  It could be worth checking into...

that could be a bitmaintech  1600watt 220volt psu and i think it is a bit short based on what people have been writing.

not a lot just a bit.

I have been  fucking around with mining for 5 years spring of 2011 and I have found a ton of psu's  will do only 85%-90% of their rated numbers.  so maybe the bitmaintech psu's have just enough for the s-7 and are just short for the s-9
I would like to the bitmain psu connected to an oscilloscope just to check how much sine product is present

IMO no psu will achieve any kind of efficiency rating advertised by the manufacturer if it is not connected to the device that it was intended to be used for i.e. a pc or a server with an bios and os that supports energy management also in conclusion it takes power to make power watts Tongue

Phew! Glad to hear that. I had so much trouble with my Batch 1 S7 that I was worried you got a lemon S9. As I want to buy an S9 sometime later, i had the sinking stomach feeling when i saw your trouble. Hope it stays stable for you. Smiley
