Carl, aka Sonny :)
Hi all,

I thought I'd just say hello Smiley

I started mining a week ago with a new S7. Tried a day on AntPool then started reading this forum and came across this pool. I've been mining with Kano the last few days and I'm very happy with the rewards after my N Hashrate stabilized.

On the hardware side, I got caught by customs and they ripped me off so there's no way I will achieve ROI with this S7. I live in an apartment building and luckily enough have managed to have Internet in my basement cellar using a PLC adapter (I live on the 6th floor!!) so no annoyances whatsoever from the machine. Also, incredibly good ping and bandwidth, so very pleased with this PLC adapter.

I'm doing this more as a hobby but some future plans are:

* Get a second unit, this time second hand probably
* investigate about mounting some S7's into a U4 rack case and take them to a hosting place
* Join some friends to the project and look for a dedicated space to put some machines

I always keep an eye on this thread so I will probably come back with more questions. Pleasure to share the adventure with you!

Cheers

Welcome to the Kano CKPool!  We are a crazy bunch at times but the more, the merrier!  Cheesy

You've made a good choice by pointing your machine here.  You will not find any better pool operators than kano and -ck (ckolivas), the developers of the CKPool software and the two main developers of cgminer which runs on practically every piece of hardware out there.  These guys have a special operation going here.

Would not mind to see the rules changed to track the highest share of a solved block for the month, hehe. Mine was a 8.56T

I thought the same thing when I hit a 3.98T share but there was a 13 or 14T share a page or two back.

I could definitely get used to this...the new S7 should ship Monday, so another little bit for the stew...  Cool

do kindly update us on the "performance" of the B16 S7 . . .

more powah to the pool.

I will do that. I'm working on some low-cost cooling/noise mitigation logistics that may be of interest to "mini" miners who can't stuff their hardware in the garage (because they don't have a garage)...I'll post it on a more appropriate thread, though.

Yeah...it was nice to wake up to blocks. I'm making enough now that the third (and last...it will max out my power) S7 will likely be paid for by BTC from current production. That's for 1 May. The plan is to be at full capacity before the halving, as that will provide me with a decent base for future projection/planning. The info I glean here, and the new acquaintances/relationships generated, from the board is invaluable.

And now for the details of the March results of the AVALON6 GIVEAWAY Smiley

Firstly, the April competition has started, with the same rules as March.

The March rule changes were here:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.14042677

The provisional March high and low winners are:

Block #698 StevenD with a CDF of 0.963 (330.466%) at 2016-03-27 18:43:23 UTC

and

Block #694 sercinsabri with a CDF of 0.051 (5.279%) at 2016-03-26 04:49:55 UTC

Now as per the rules, the Avalon6 winner is chosen from these 2 by the value of the first network block hash in April UTC
The last March and first April blocks according to the pool were:
Code:
[2016-04-01 10:46:34.731] Block hash changed to 000000000000000003532be135e917df7d1d5c7deff5ffc16d346f6a8b9f323c
[2016-04-01 11:10:08.882] Block hash changed to 00000000000000000077f2ec2992699287ae7c1b7a15e1d113048875b4f4eaef
Timezone there is +11 so no difficulty deciding which block it was.
The April (2nd) one was block 405179 and as you can see ended on the right with an 'f' so it's odd (not even)

And 'odd' means that the winner of the Avalon6 is the lowest CDF which is:
Block #694 sercinsabri with a CDF of 0.051 (5.279%) at 2016-03-26 04:49:55 UTC

The runner up with my fee for the 1st April block (#720 Block 405191 - 0.1271652BTC) is:
Block #698 StevenD with a CDF of 0.963 (330.466%) at 2016-03-27 18:43:23 UTC
