How often does someone get 4 blocks in 32hours. And how often does someone go about 24hrs at 3PH/s - at least here at Kano.is

Sorry for questions literally my second week of mining.

am i misguided to think that hardware errors eat into the profits  or am i wrong about this

the hw number is less important then the % number.

so  if you clock and get under 0.0050 %  you are doing well

if you clock and get 0.0350  % you are not as well

if you clock higher and get 0.2000  % you are worse off.

because  the gear does lots of hash the hw number count means less .

my 2 had 450 errors in 17 hours  at 0.0003%  and 9360 gh

but in 30 days   that would be over 13500 errors  but still 0.0003%

0.0003% is really good

but even 0.0050% is really good
my issue is that hardware errors consume power produce heat and produce not shares and i have ants and sps and A6 and those produce 0 hardware errors with that said to a nano farmer like me it's irrelevant

Hitting a block is pure statistics base on the amount of hash rate you are throwing at the kano pool...the more you are throwing, the higher your chances are  Cheesy

The problem with dropping your speeds to try and get rid of all of the errors, you are also in effect dropping your hash rate at the same time.  Lowering your hash rate reduces your chance of hitting a block...there is a happy medium in there somewhere!  Cool

Phil is absolutely right...look at the percentage and not the total.  A 0.0050% error rate is a sweet spot to be in.

Now, back on topic with Block Wednesday!

yes they are and the big fat 0 HW is incredible Wink
So if I drop my clock a bit on my s7's and get the hardware errors to lower/non-existant the s7's are more efficient and more likely to get a block?
Blocks are slipping away on hardware errors? Crap. Should have fixed them sooner.

Interested as well to the answer on this...my HW on an S7 shows 21,352...I'd like to be as efficient as possible.

Don't get too wigged out about errors...it's a normal part of mining with antminers, even here on the kano pool.  I just try to keep my error percentage at double zeros and these things will run for weeks on end with no issues.  I have 7 S7s with error percentages ranging from 0.0009% to 0.0055% with my two best S7s being Batch 1.  Run at stock speeds and keep your temps right around 60C-70C by lowering your fan speeds (or raising them if you are too warm).  This will help your errors to stay down and your hash rate to stay up.  (Your fan speed always should be set to manual in case you lose your internet connection.)

hw means less then  hw %    so 0.0050 or less is really good

what is your %

here are 2 batch twos running on 1 batch 2 controller see the 0.0003%

these two are doing 4680 each but  .24 watts a gh on platinum psus'

see downclock in freq from 575 to 568  note batch 2 are 575 clock 4660 gh rated
