What does it mean by "last share"? Sometimes i see it at: 1, 3, 6, 15, 3, 2, 5, 50, 60 seconds, and etc. Just random seconds. Sometimes faster, sometimes longer. Isn't it suppose to count the shares consistently if we have a stable internet connection? Or how does that part work/calculate?
Last time you sent a share.
It works exactly the same as block finding, it's random.
You find a lot of shares a day, so it (the variance) is less obvious than block finding.

ckpool restart was done (5 minutes ago)
Was very smooth, user count ended up (only) 2 less than before the restart 652->650
Hash rate climbing back up - since that's a decayed value it takes a while to catch up to the value before the restart.

Thanks kano and -ck and good morning  Smiley

I bet there are not many pools where you are given clear, open and honest updates like this one. And definitely none of that from the big bad pools where if anything goes wrong, major or minor you are left on your own waiting and wondering  Huh.

When I rolled back on the ckpool update, it included a point where ckdb wasn't being confirmed by ckpool.
Nothing was lost and, yeah as someone suggested, it's not critical so there's no alarm to wake me up Smiley
That confirm fix I'll add in shortly with a ckpool restart in 15 minutes.

I've confirmed the block manually and that corrects all the stats and creates the new payouts and shift rewards - but doesn't correct the web page top left header since that works by resetting the counters when the confirm arrives
(add about 26% to it's current value until we find the next block when it will correct itself)

Did we lose shares? I thought I had seen the shares hit over 100% before it updated, but the block was only 89% and we are at 1% now. Shouldn't the total between those two be much higher?

I'm sure Kano will let us know at some point and confirm this (I hope) but as long as you was mining at the pool (should of been no reason why not as mining was not affected) then your shares will still be recorded and you will get paid for all your shares. Look at the shifts page and you should see your stats there.

I understand that. I only asked because there was a discrepancy between numbers. If a glitch showed a higher percentage than what it should have then it makes sense.

My point was that the shares had climbed to +100% after that confirmed block. Which to me meant that after it updated our current shares would be +10% since the block was only 89%. But ck says all is good and I trust them so no biggie.

I think you may be right about that. I think the diff% may be off for this block because of the glitch.

"Share Rate" and "«Elapsed" are initialised when the miner first connects.
"Share Rate" and "«Elapsed" reset every network block.

Their aim is to inform you: if you are connecting properly and sending shares properly.

"Share Rate" is the number of shares you have submitted in "«Elapsed" then converted to a hash rate.
The very first second that you connect to the pool, they will report the shares you have submitted since "«Elapsed"
Thus it has high variance, but has the specific use of being able to see the shares you are submitting, immediately.
They are not trying to tell you your accurate hash rate.
They are telling you that you are connected to the pool properly and sending shares properly.

Also take some time to read https://www.kano.is/index.php?k=payout as this will explain how its calculated and how you will be rewarded for your work. I'll try dig out some other pool members explanation as this might also help

not a good day to start mining on kano-too many blocks that did not count for me in any way.
also, what is hash rate vs share rate ? why they are so different? which one counts?

Hash rate is all that matters. Also block friday comes every week so don't worry about the low 5nd rewards right now.

Are you sure? Then why "hash rate" data on the account interface is so low in comparison with the "share rate"
"share rate" is more like what i see in anminer gui.

The hash rate is an avg over at least a few hours while share rate is realtime. Give it a few hours and compare again.

Whether or not the share rate is real time, it is a calculated number and not your actual hashrate you get paid for. Please correct me if I'm wrong but this number really has no impact on what you get paid.

A while back I connected my U3 for funzies and it had a high share right away and my "Share Rate" on the website was like WAY higher than the 55GH/s I was actually getting. Something like 200GH/s.

The hash rate you see on the website, in almost all locations as far as I know, is an average of x (5min/1hr/etc...) amount of time. So eventually they will show your current real hash rate assuming it remains constant. If you look at your shift graph after a few hours you will what you are getting paid for.

Ah, got it...hash rate takes long averages into account somewhat, that's why it is initially lower.
Sorry for this pool newb questions. each pool has their own quirks.

Nothing was lost. It was just a glitch in the system due to a bug which hasn't been properly addressed yet in ckpool (will be next pool restart as the last restart was an unsuccessful upgrade - my bad).

Gotcha, disregard then.
