We've also had a bunch of established members adding more hashrate too. So, although the user count appears lower, the hashrate will increase.

If your hash rate stays the same, then 2 things:

1) As the pool hash rate increases, your reward per block will decrease.
As the pool hash rate increases, we expect to find blocks more often.
Thus it works out the same.

2) However, every 2016 blocks (or about every 2 weeks) your reward drops due to difficulty increases.

The next difficultly change is going to leave a mark.  lol

Edit: ... and if you mine at the small pools that don't find lots of blocks each 2 weeks, you will be rewarded less - they like to leave that fact out.

Forgive my ignorance and for perhaps being a conspiracy theorist but I've noticed a strange increase in the hash rate of the pool while actual users has decreased.  I see that when the pools hash rate increases (while my contribution stays the same) my reward goes down significantly. I only have 3 S9's so I know my contbibution is small but when I started, the pool was around 48K TH/S and its now like 234K TH/S.  For me the only variable to change is the pool's hash rate.  I find this strange since the user count when I began 4 months ago was around 1450 users.  Now a few hundred less user's we're at a much bigger hash rate.  Just like every other pool, my rewards keep dwindling week after week.  Thanks in advance.  DH.

I'm sure there has been a ton of S7's and lower equipment drop off this pool over the last couple of months and each s9 equals 3 times the hash rate of a S7.

The biggest thing that affects earnings is difficultly.  example at the current hash rate and difficultly we should find about 30 blocks for the month but when the difficultly changes in a few days the number for the month should be closer to 27 blocks expected. (this assumes hash rate stays the same which everyone knows this is a moving target)

at 45 ph we would only be expected to find 6.24 blocks for the month.  5.52 block if the difficulty change estimate is correct in 3.2 days.

Is everyone holding as I am doing for more than 6 months which effectively means more fiat going into BTC.

Personally, My intentions at this moment, are to use my profits to retrieve more equipment to increase my hashrate. After I reach an amount I'm content with, I will hold and watch prices.

So I know I will get flak about this post, and thats ok, I know people will say that its a long term investment for mining.  I agree, but it is too long, at least for me.  What do you think is a reasonable amount of time?

@AerialGopher, are you selling BTC immediately or holding? That is what I understand that mining is a long term investment.

I am also curious of what is a good time for ROI?
12 months or more with the current BTC price?

Thanks Kano. It appears to be correct. I have other uses of the 2FA function and they work. Interesting, I will figure it out with the info you provided. As always you are a great resource and truly a SME. Thank you for the help.

KANO,

My 2FA is not working with the KANO site.

Nothing has changed on my end.

Thanks in advance for looking in to it.

Check the time on your phone.
The 2FA code on the server only changes when you change it Smiley

You have to have the correct time on your phone and it has to match the web server - the web server shows it (in tiny letters) at the bottom left in UTC on the server (the correct time) and your device time in the bottom right - which may or may not be right.

Edit: the console log shows you checking the time each time just after 30s so it would appear each time it was too slow with the previous 30s code.
The code changes every 30s at HH:MM:00 and HH:MM:30 (and you can only try it once each 30s)

1xA921 + 1xA741 + Backup-->1xA6 ;)
I've been waiting all night for this.
Lol. I've found it passes the time faster to try getting some sleep.

Or, maybe you adhere to the "No sleep til Brooklyn BTClockies!" approach...

Sorry to hear it. Electricity is killing me too, need that price to go back up. Normally I would thank you for lowering the difficulty for the rest of us, but your buyer will take over.

My summer pricing just started. I don't like it but it should be ok for the time being.

I'm happy my mining box is working well. The heat is being removed and the sound is unnoticeable upstairs. Outside it sounds like a dryer exhaust.

It is nice having the three machines purring along and not having to worry about anything at the moment.

Though, I've already thought about improvements for the box when I pick up my next three miners.  Smiley

haha  hopefully, I left them configured for my account here..  Maybe he will plug them in and run them and forget to change the config?  hmm likely not...

Just curious, How many miners did you sell?  Were they S7's or S9's?

My Mining days are over.....  All equipment is sold.  TH/s = 0.0

Guy who bought it will probably put the stuff on kano too.

Been fun.  Less work for me now...

I see we found another block and i didnt even have to do anything for it!
Sorry to hear Gopher, best of luck to you.
Wow. Same here. Hope you came out on top!

Here I am about to use my rewards to buy a 741, and you're callin' it quits... Weird.

Regardless of any "flak" you may get, it sounds like you've put a lot of thought into it and came to the best decision for yourself considering your multi-faceted situation.

I respect that you made an informed decision. Best of luck!
