I am sure that it was posted repeatedly, but can anyone help me with this since it is late:

What is a minimal non-dust level here currently?
One S9 produces something like 0.0006 btc/block-is this dust or not?
In other words, can a single S9 hash on a non-dust level at the moment?
Thanks.

I always pay with Bitcoin.  Fast, easy, and I use coins I mined with.  Twas a bit of a pain when they only accepted Bitcoin Cash, but now things are back to normal.  Well.  Kind of.  I've stopped buying S9s in favor of Avalons.  Now the trick to only do that when Avalon pricing is compariable.  Seems those windows are pretty short.

WELL IT WOULD APPEAR that ship has sailed,  what became of my much loved usd?  Some lucky chinese fella got a nice payday cause I inputted his bank ACCT# instead of bitmain's?  I know I double checked the #s.  I'm not too stoopid to type, or copy paste am I?  If so paying w/BTC wouldn't have helped me, would it?

EDIT:  AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Angry

Ugh, sorry to hear.  Sad

Yea, me to.  I've never tried wiring money to buy miners.  Sorry to hear a horror story like this.

Wow, 95 confirms in 11 hours.  Tomorrow's difficulty change is going to suck.

It is what it is: Difficult. I believe we are currently "teetering" at that point where some people are going to throw in the towel. Especially with the price staying below 10k, the FOMO's of December, and people using outdated equipment, are feeling some pressure. I can almost hear the screeching sound of angry Wives and Girlfriends!!! Ha!!!

Or they can buy those s9's for cheap and catch back up!

I tried to do exactly that and that's even more frustrating.  I didn't wan't to trade any BTC right now as we are in a dip, so I tried to buy direct from buttmain w/usd wire.  Even had the support guy from the bank on the phone while I made the xfer.  Now a week+ buttmain still claims they haven't received anything and the bank swears up and down it was delivered.  Am I literally too damn stoopid to mine bitcoin?  Hell I'm too stoopid to be trusted w/flat currency too I guess.  I mighta flushed most of my profits in a single mouse click.    AAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHH!  Angry

EDIT:  oh ya that mass email that they are dropping prices again was the final kick in the 'nads...looking for a email as to where my money went, and get that...I should change my username to 1dumbass.  Should any of you folks start a post w/"@1dumbass" I will assume you are talking to me!

May be easier to pay them with BTC and then just buy that BTC back with your fiat.

?

I still dont understand this. Would you care to explain or point where to find an explanation?

Thnx.

BTC is designed to find a block every 10 minutes and it uses the difficulty to control this.  When he says "95 confirms in 11 hours" that would be 95 blocks in 660 minutes or 1 block every 6.9 minutes.  That too fast for bitcoin so the difficulty should go up to adjust this time back up to 10 minutes.  Actually, 11 hours is way too small of a sample but that is the general idea.

The bitcoin network readjusts difficulty every 2016 blocks or approximately every 2 weeks.

Well you would expect 6 blocks per hour, or only 66 in 11 hours, so I believe that is the point there...

Not everyone is a techie.
And that is the main problem. Folks are dealing with advanced high-power technical devices and if they are going to experiment then at least when it comes to supplying power and cooling for them they damn well better research the basic principals & guidelines behind what they are thinking of doing.

There are scads of sites dealing with wiring your home and giving tutorials on HVAC. Those are the first places I would check for info. Someone just saying 'it works' or 'doesn't work' does nothing to help a person understand the why behind the answers.

Getting back on-topic, I seem to be cursed to hover around 300THs... Was up to >309 then had 2x T9's go titsup in the main farm at work. Early last week I replaced them with 2x A841's. Now the internet at my GF's house is out again so her 2 A821's are offline until the 10th which is the soonest AT&T will be out to fix it putting me back to around 288-290THs  Sad

Obviously not your cup of tea...  Cheesy

give them some credit; they dont know and the idea is logic. Not everyone is a techie.

The *sigh* is because at least 3-4x a month here and in other threads someone comes up with the same 'idea' of using a cooler. Would they ever think of using a cooler as a room air conditioner by leaving its door(s) open? Unlikely. Why? Because of their low BTU ratings it loses its cool rather fast before cooling off the room and yet the same thought never enters their minds when it comes to cooling miners...

I'll give an 'A' for them considering the idea but folks need to think things through a lot more... Wink

Why not leave the cooling in it? I live in Phoenix and I'm looking for something like a big Floral/Beer cooler to mount mining rigs in. Wintertime just shut it off.
Sigh...
For the umpteenth time: Folks, coolers for food/flowers/beer, whatnot are NOT designed to remove significant amounts of heat continuously! They can only move a little bit more heat than what leaks in through the insulation and whatever heat comes in with the food.

For reference, 1kw of power = 3415.179BTU/HR of heat to be moved. That is the numbers you need to look at for air-conditioning loads.

sigh...

why so grumpy if someone asks a question...
You were born ignorant also... Hope your parents didn't sigh with every question you asked....  Grin
