BLOCK!!!      Grin   YIPPEE!!!    Cheesy

Need some quick hitters now to get that pool % back.

edit; and I added another s3+ to the pool hashrate. Now I just need to find the page in this thread that has the directions for the cgminer software upgrade. Hmmm....

I have a question regarding power saving. I have 2x s3 running at 250M giving an average of 501 GHS and 503 GHS. I have a third running at 237.5M as this is its highest stable overclock giving 480-485 GHS average. I'm going on holiday for a week and need to conserve power whilst away. I have a pre-payment electricity so when it runs out everything turns off. I was thinking of either turning off the weakest S3 vs. underclocking all 3 for best power/hash rate. Can anybody advise?

Power consumption is calculated by taking the Capacitance * Frequency * Voltage ^2  (P = C * f * V^2).  Since it's related to the voltage squared, the voltage is a bigger hammer.  Undervolting the chips while keeping the frequency as high as you can is the way to maximize the efficiency, getting the most out of your electricity.  You will need to lower the frequency as you lower the voltage, but you should be able to find a sweet spot.

Yeah I've been using your service too. Any chance you can add the diff% to your emails?

I'll see what I can try to figure out. All of my data is gathered using Kano's API and I don't think the diff% is available, but I'll see if I can get it somehow.

Edit: You can now get a email notification if an individual worker does not submit a share in over 5 minutes.

In simplest terms - it's what gives you the best bang for the buck I imagine Smiley
i.e. it depends on the watts at the wall.

Look at the hash rate vs the watts. My (random?) guess would be it's about 1kW total for all 3?

However, rather than switching off the best performer (I'd expect the lower 480-485 one to have a better W/GHs) you'd probably be better instead to reduce the 2x500 (and even the 480 also) and get a lower power usage for a higher GHs? (by "higher" I mean higher than switching the 480 off)

With the recent drop of hashrate I feared much worse, yes it's all relative but I will still praise 170% in this case. Could always be worse!  Grin

Just solved a block.  170%

Man, I was gettin' worried there!
Well, it's expected (on every pool) that a bit more than 1 in 8 blocks (~13.5%) will be over 200% but since there's only 2 in the last 40 - luck has been pretty good - as the Statistics at the top of the blocks page shows.

Also, we really do get very few orphans due to how well the pool works.
So far: one as the 2nd block the pool found, and only one ever since then.
- as mentioned before, the Unworthly block was never a block, it's diff was just very close to being a block, but lower diff than required, so got tested anyway.
So currently that's 0.64% orphans since the pool started (2 out of 311 - the last one was 132 blocks ago)

... long term luck has been good, orphans have been low ... everyone mining long term should have been getting paid well Smiley

Our big block popper canaan dropped off the pool. Now we need others to step up, lets geaux!  Tongue

He's dropped on and off before, and his hash rate has fluctuated with the seasons.  I'm sure he'll be back at some point.

Hes not the only big user who left recently. So maybe he will be back, regardless, all this means is bigger payouts at lower frequency.

any way to have the system email when worker is down?

I know there is a google app for that. In googleplay, try CKPool something. It works. Not sure about OS..don't think so. Just an idea for ya.

edit: oh..it's free!

the only option i see in that app is for avg hash.
suppose i can set it to just enough if one worker drops out, but variance might cause a false report.

i also dont like running programs on my phone that might drain the battery down..

an option in the site that emails you if a worker doesnt send a share in x amount of time would be helpful.

you can already see when the last share was, so it might not be too hard? kano??

FYI; that isn't kanos app, but the guy is a miner here (I think). You might try sending him an email. Check the app or g-play store to see if you can. Maybe he can help. Once you set it tho, I don't believe you have to keep it (app) running for it to send out the e-mail warning.

Guess you guys are talking about this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jjkuo.dev.ckpoolstatus

I'm not the dev but have been using it for some time. It can notify you on hash rate drop. It can also be configured toconfigured check as often or as infrequently as you like (highest frequency possible is 5 min). Will also notify when a block is found.

ckpoolmonitor.zachmonroe.com will email you a notification when we find a block, it can also email when your avg hashrate drops below a set threshold, and it will not cause any drain on your phone battery because it is not running on your phone. I will look into seeing if I can do individual worker notifications.

Yeah I've been using your service too. Any chance you can add the diff% to your emails?
