Is that a fixed amount or does it go up after a determined kw usage and fuel cost???

Fixed cost, its all hydroelectric.

What fuel cost?  It's hydroelectric.

For comparison, my rate here in southern California is 10 times higher.  If I didn't have trees around I'd have solar.  I may still look into a small solar setup, even enough just for miners would be cool.

Eastern Washington in the USA.  The county to the north is even cheaper for industrial power, $0.0173/kwh

Huge power like that sure, but I run 15TH/sec and have since January and my boxes have all ROI'd at this point.

Granted, I have access to ridiculously inexpensive power($0.023/kwh), so that helps. :p

People who have that kind of hashing power are either a) spending a fortune on hardware for their own farm or b) spending a bunch renting the gear from sites like nicehash.com or miningrigrentals.com.

ive spent $200au on 180GH/s yet people have 180TH/s easy, how?! Where?!
What did you buy?  I spent $20us on an S1 and $50us on a good psu for it, $15us for a heat sink kit and have it comfortably oc'd to 200gh.  Even my S3+ and a psu were less than $200au.  Huh
i got myself a few "new r-box's" one was teh dodge, the other works like a charm (80GH/s on the bad one, 120GH/s on the good one)
i have been looking into getting a few old miners like the S1's just to add more hashing power..

If I did it over I'd skip the S1 and just get a S3+ first.  Less power usage, usually 1-2*C cooler, and hashes 500gh @ 250 freq with basically no error or rejects.  I'd like to sell my S1 and get another S3+, but it can be lucky, so call me superstitious...

Of course neither is profitable to run by itself, but for a hobbyist you can't really go wrong.

Now I am interested to see how the very large rental I did works in this case.  I peaked at a  1ph for a 3 shift rental minutes 24 hours ago.

I spent about .5 btc   Since it was only for 4 shifts  does my average stay flat.  If it is the case a huge short rental is more effective. Since you peak the average hash in under 500%.

say 150 shifts = 500%

  If I average 400th over 4 shifts

4/150 x 400th = 10th average right away? and it stays at 10th basically all the way.

I am basing all calcs on a flat pool rate.  I know if pool rate gets real high my hash average drops.

So far I am in between an average of 5-6th  as I peaked at 1ph over 4 shifts  but the 4 shift average  was 381th.

I also realize that shift count for 500% varies.

% of the 500% is 90% + 15%   so I have 395% left on my rental.  I suspect I need 3 more blocks to break even.

first payment was 0.099  waiting on the second.

Just the threat of my S1 brought the block down!  I'll point it here for the night, just to give our luck a kick in the pants.
