Why don't the amounts I'm receiving as listed by "bitcoin-cli listtransactions"  match the payments listed in https://kano.is/index.php?k=payments ?

blocks!!
I probably shouldn't admit this Smiley
But after that 2nd block I accidentally killed ckdb in my elation to copy-paste the console message Tongue
... Shift-Ctrl-C copy text ... vs ... Ctrl-C abort program ... missed the shift key ...
Anyway - means ckdb had a restart so for a few minutes the web page had the usual ? stats while ckdb restarts.

I do something like that.  This mac mini has a vm and I run a few usb sticks on it.  So I open the vm  look at the sticks and see if it is running when I click to reduce it to the task bar I hit the x and not the minus .  so I shut down the vm and back to the beginning.  Does not matter much now since whats 12gh who cares, but back in the day I had 16x 4gb sticks and 64gh plus btc was 1000 bucks and it would not always restart.

Your (old address) shares will not show up in your (new) user account, they are under the address account (which you can't login to)
However, the total payout will still be the same as if you hadn't changed anything.

Each share you submit gets paid the same way no matter how many accounts you have and no matter how many addresses you have.

Edit: well to clarify that some more: a share submitted at time X will get paid a fixed amount depending on the shift it is in.
It doesn't matter who submitted it.
... and all shares in a shift get paid the same ratio based on their difficulty.

Makes perfect sense, thank you.

How do you know you hit the block?
If you mean 'who':
When you login it shows the workername that found the block.

If you mean 'block':
Well - the blocks page on the web site Smiley

Is cgminer authenticating securely when it does  ./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:3333 -u Kano.worker -p x ?
I'm wondering if someone could sniff the password on the wire, then login to the web interface and change the payout address?
I don't have enough hashing power for it to matter much if someone were to do that to me, just curious, and I try to use ssl if available whenever I'm sending passwords.
Never use the same password for your worker on cgminer as the website password. ckpool doesn't even use the worker password so dont even bother sending one.

ah, thanks, for some reason I thought it was using the same login

Woo block!

I started mining to the pool using just a bitcoin address, but have since registered an account on the web site.  If I link that same btc address to my account and then mine using my account name, will my shares carry over to the account, or will I lose my shares mined?

I think my question got skipped over, could someone kindly answer?

I did receive a payment yesterday, so not sure if this was from the mining I was doing with just the address, or from when I switched over to my account user name.  Since both are pointed at the same BTC address I cannot tell.
