At the risk of blowing up the ebay prices,  there is a seller (ecpar411) that has 10 auctions for soon to be delivered S9's
[snip]
Just received an email from ebay - it was a scam:
Our records show that you recently contacted or received messages from ecpar411 through eBay's messaging system. This account was recently found to have been accessed by an unauthorized third party, who may have used the account in an attempt to defraud other members.

Way too good to be true.  Back to work!!

Block!!$$

So I have no idea how it works really, I kinda do but not really.  The 5nd.....it seems to be increasing rather quickly lately compared to in the past.  Is this because of the forks and everything?  Also does anyone feel like the difficulty is going to be rising at this rate on a constant basis or can the diff actually go down at some point or just stop rising.  I don't know, if someone who knows about this stuff could explain it a bit that would be amazing!!!

5ND has been decreasing with more hash being pointed here.  More and more machines coming online = difficulty increasing.  Going to need some quiet weeks (or violent downturn in BTC price) to get things to flatten out or go negative.

Speaking of eBay, the sold Avalon6 prices are approaching an average of $300 each!

Due to the age of those miners, recent difficulty increases, new miners coming out, and eBay risks, is it worth it to consider these anymore, or should I just wait until I have enough for a 741?
I would say it depends on how much they cost and your cost and availability of electricity. If you are running them 24 hours a day on electricity purchased from the power company - you will be better off with a 741. If you are running 6 hours a day on surplus or free electricity of some sort, they could be a better choice. You have to do the math based on your individual situation - but for most full time miners you will be better off with the 741.
All depends on your power outlay.   If you can afford a bunch of them, vs 741's or s9's (821)...that's where you have to decide how much buying those are vs buying something newer.
Thanks, guys. It'd be on 24x7 @ 8.5¢/kWh (4.5¢ supplier + 4¢ distributor) from the power(hungry) company, which is why I'm almost talking myself into waiting for an 741 since they're effectively half the power consumption per TH.

Thank you all very much for your replies. I'm unfamiliar with "ramping" so I will study up on that. It sounds like I should bring the miners over 1 or 2 at a time to get rolling, or just "all at once"? Sounds like transitioning in steps leaves less downtime overall.
[snip]
You must have patience during the ramp up period...  (You will get paid but only a portion till you are fully ramped up[snip]
...but don't forget that the portion you don't get during your ramp up will be paid as you ramp down if you ever stop mining--just like how employers held your first paycheck. You never lose it per se.
Thank you! I'll switch these units out as soon as I get to my facility. Thank you all.

from my research this is a hash board swap situation (just a guess) but alot of ebay people by new swap out the hash boards on there old ones then resell the new "shell" with old hash boards. since they dont accept returns ebay is genealy in my opinion a bad place to buy. after all why would someone buy a SKID of s9's jst to turn around and sell them at half price ?

You should be mining here now with all of your machines!  Bring them all now is my opinion..

You will have some ramp up time (which is explained in numerous threads on here)..

That is a nice bit of TH to add and if you look at the Pool stats you would be in the top 1/3 based on amount of TH..

Anyone mining long term need to be mining with KanoPool...  BUT

You must have patience during the ramp up period...  (You will get paid but only a portion till you are fully ramped up)

Last I knew they were saying approx 13 days to be fully ramped up

Pecker!

Mine on Kano!

In general, I decided, and all the same I started my S9 miner on the cano ... I understand that I did not have time to block, well, I did not have time, I hurried and removed it from the pool ... (please do not throw stones at me), now I hope that for a long time I'll sit here))) Wink

No idea if you're in or out from that statement.   Stick around if you did leave though.
by my stupidity I took my miner out of here today, which of course I'm already sorry, but this is not the last block ... I hope that they will sprinkle on us now from the cornucopia Grin

on the bright side with the 5ND being in or out for a few hours makes little difference ita all about the long term
