You guys come across as major assholes sometimes...

Everyones in this to make money. Stop being mean to new people. Stop circle-jerking each other and maybe you'd get some new people. This is the exact opposite of what I thought this pool was about; I thought it was active because people helped one another, instead its new miners getting shit on by those that have been here a bit.

^This

we need more miners in the pool, more so than ever now, not less.  At a minimum let's not encourage people to leave.

Quick check folks ...

Im fully ramped (N ave 54TH+), for the last block i got 0.0144 BTC for 54TH (4xS9s).

is this amount the 1/5 of 5Nd payout?  So i would receive 0.0144 for the next 4 days based on current hashrates? (assuming no additional blocks are found in between)

this is my 2nd month here, so havent seen payouts in action much (other than the little one from the previous block)  Thanks.

The payout on this last block is the only payout you will get.... Until the next block, there is no payout for 4 days after the first one... the 5N doesn't have anything to do with days.

Ok ... so that means based on same difficulty/pool hashrates etc .... 0.0036 BTC reward per block per 13.5TH is an expected value?

looking at the history of the pool... it seems the pool averages 2.5-3.5 PH per block.  So if we are looking at steady 54PH (which seems to be number thats been hovering) ... then it would seem the pool can find 15.4 to 21.6 blocks per month?

for an S9, that would be 0.05544 BTC to 0.07776 BTC per month? (based on current diff, hash & luck over the past few months (except current))

or am I off on a tangent?

You're heading down the right path but the numbers are a little low.

Thanks ... was just looking for a layman's interpretation here ... so all good.

Gee, because the same question is asked 3-5 times in the last 4-5 pages?  Nobody wants to take the time to read and familiarize themselves with this pool (or any other pool).  Not everyone is going to be spoon fed around here.

They are in denial..  they still think it is just a difference of smaller quicker payouts vs bigger slower payouts and have no clue that they are bottoming out on small datasets

I mean, if you spin a roulette wheel 38 times are you going to get each number once??  Or do you have to spin it 38,000,000 to really get good representation?

Solo mining is viable too right?

You only get paid on new blocks...but you'd like to have a few blocks found in the next few days as you'll see some of the shares "double" counted (or more depending on number of blocks).  Until we find another block, you don't get paid.

Low Fees, Subject Matter Expert Running the Pool, 50+ PH's, Luck is Luck..... sometimes it is good, sometimes it is bad..... this pool IS NOT for the weak of heart or those who "expect" daily small payouts. This Pool is for people who understand probabilities, understand the fundamentals of Bitcoin and why we mine here. You cannot make an accurate assessment on a small sample size of information. You have to give it a larger sample size to make an accurate assessment. Bigger the sample (blocks over time) the more accurate your analysis. For me? No matter what the price of Bitcoin, no matter how difficulty goes higher, there is no better place I have found to send my Hash Rate to. None. Mine On With kano-San, the Best Bitcoin Mining Pool on Earth. Come on Block!!!

Finally a block. Absolutely pathetic reward 0.0002BTC per day for an S9 running 24/7 Sad I do hope we find another block sooner than this one or I will have to bail. Every day counts now as difficulty keeps ramping and more and more miners crowd the field and none of us can afford to run miners at a loss like this for very long.

Bitter much?  The block rewards are fairly small right now, this isn't the age of 16-18BTC blocks.

Yeah, but a pool that appears to losing ground relative to the other pools is only going to increase variance....  I've ran my miner straight since 1/21 to get a 'reward' that doesn't cover power... Thats not why I mine, but this pool has all the makings of a death spiral if you look at the last 6 months...

Don't you think most, if not all of us, ran their miner straight since 1/21?   What makes you more special than the rest of us?

Kano, you may want to take a back seat and let this chap have at it. 19 days here and he has our pool all figured out.  Grin

Hmm, the hash rate has been rising over the last 2 weeks ...

But yeah you could make a judgement on the performance of a pool based on a single block if you want Smiley

Would be interested in knowing what the makings of a death spiral are. The only death spirals that I know of are either an element in figure skating or a condition of the insurance market.

Wonderful!  Thank you cryptostarusa for finding the block and thank you everyone for being so helpful!

This is my 2nd block ever!  Very excited.   1st block was 202.868% and 2nd block was 596.203%.    I hope that all the bad luck has cleared and only super fast blocks remain!

Can you explain ramp up? What is that

It takes some time for you to get full credit for your hash rate, since the pool looks at the last 5 ND shares when it calculates a payout.

If you start today, and have 10,000 shares, and we found a block, it looks back at the last 10 trillion shares (5 times the network difficulty.) - so of those shares, you only have a few percent, not your full hash rate.

As you mine for longer, your reward gets up to your actual hash rate, and more of those last 5ND shares are yours.

It all balances out, because if you stop mining, your shares from the past are still getting credit, even though they're dropping off.
