I would ping them first, I thought nya would be faster, but I was wrong. Depending on where you are.

Thanks again, I did ping each of them and NYA is super low, like 12 ms.  Also i am in New Jersey, so that makes sense.  Just waiting for my AntMiner S9 to finish its boot up process so I can see if the new settings worked.

The LA half of the main stratum node disconnected everyone and has had some network problems for almost 20 minutes so far.
Reminder to have your 2nd pool set to point to another kano.is node in case a failover occurs, so your hash rate will be mostly unaffected due to failing over to another kano.is node.
(The network problem started occurred at 01:47 UTC)

What should be my secondary node if I'm in Washington state?
Ping the list in the first post.
My guess would be nya.kano.is

If you have an asic miner, can you take advantage of the nodes around the world?

right now, I just have 2 pool URLs
primary: stratum+tcp://nonce.kano.is:27181
backup: stratum+tcp://nonce.kano.space:27181

I would love to use nya.kano.is if that is a possibility for asic.

Do you have an Asicminer Tube?  Those are the only ones that can use the nonce urls.  All other ASIC miners including Antminer S7s, S9s etc use the regular links.

Oh gosh - I have an Antminer S9.  I missed the tube part and just saw asic!   I am going to make the change right to the following:

stratum+tcp://nya.kano.is:3333
stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:3333
stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.space:3333

Thank you so much!!!

There's no pay threshold.  You get paid for each block we hit for now.  There's been rumor that in the future there may be some changes to that model.
Yeah I've been spreading those rumours Smiley

Would you recomend someone with only a few TH/s mine at your pool? Or will it all be "dust" and never get payed like I was reading on another thread. Im not looking for a debate, or to complain. Just trying to figure out where my hash is best..
Well you are looking for a debate when you say 'Or will it all be "dust" and never get payed'
Search this thread and you will find plenty of posts saying I'm working on it ... or listen to posts by fools ... your choice.

lol yeah that makes me want to mine your pool... take care..

And thanks to those that gave the straight answer I was looking for.

There went all the hash rate.  On a better note, means that some of the Canaan miners are getting ready for shipment!

You can't put an address on 2 different accounts.

As stated above, if you start a new account, the old one will ramp down while the new one ramps up
The total rewards of the 2 accounts will be the same as if there was only one account, however there may be dust at the start of the new ramp and at the end of the old ramp.

Lastly, your old account will reset it's share difficulty, if you change it on the web site, and probably has already.
You have to be patient for that to change when you change it on the web site while you are mining.

Thank you - I am using a different BTC address for both accounts.   I thought I was being patient waiting for an hour after the change was made on the website and my miner restarted - is that not enough time?

Everything is running fine on the new account, so I am just not going to touch any settings this time.

And thanks again for all the help.  That is why I picked this pool, you guys have a really good community here.
Yeah the diff change is rather dodgy in the ckpool mining code about deciding when it will actually do it for you.
The change up usually is quite quick, but a change down from a large value can take a while.
What I meant was that it was probably due to still mining that caused the delay, but I think you might have to actually disconnect for a block +10 minutes to clear it going down properly.

I would totally recommend you turn on Private Messages from Newbies so that people can reach out to you when they have questions for you or suggestions!
Kano is a great pool and it has one of my S9's currently. As others have said, the community is great. I love having others to talk to about mining and miner related questions since there aren't a ton out here in the sticks where I am.

Either way, welcome to the community and the pool if you decide to stick around!

I broke my pool account!  I was stupid and set the Worker Management Minimum Diff to 156,000,000.    Since I did that, the Pool shows my miner as offline for over two hours.   So I set the Minimum Diff back to 0, and restarted my miner twice, waiting another hour but it still showed as offline for over three hours now.

So I created a new pool account and pointed my miner to the new account, and it shows as Active and online and is busy working and producing shares.

Is there a way I can fix my old pool account or somehow consolidate pool accounts so I don't lose the shares I worked on so far?  Like perhaps use the same BTC payment address?

Any advice is appreciated, and I apologize if this has been asked and answered - I did search for a couple of hours but couldn't find anything.

Just use the new user. Your old user will ramp down as your new user ramps up, so there's no loss.

Thank you.  Should I use the same BTC receiving address or does that not matter?

It won't matter so long as you don't mind utilizing two separate BTC Addresses and as long as you have access to both. If you are using coinbase for example then it won't matter if you use a different BTC address issued by them for your account.
You can't put an address on 2 different accounts.
