Mine ON!!!
Kano told the guys who are renting hashes to exit the pool for a little bit.  Didn't realize that extra 30+ PH was rented (we were around 90 PH for quite awhile).  He wanted to rule some things out on the possible problems with the pool.

Reminds me of a situation last year, don't remember the details but there were also rentals and their correlation to the unluck period.

another person that had to bow out of mining here for the time being decided to go for a steady less variance but less money option of renting his hash out to nice hash. and I was looking at there info for selling them hashing power. and when I was reading all there info one what sort of rates they have and what some one has to do for difrent miners there was some thing even on there site saying some bug or issue with some bitmain miners. I forget if it was s7s or the s9 that they said had to have a certian firmware upgrade for them to work threw nicehash due to a known issue with some of them when going threw nicehash to a pool dont find blocks.    and to me it sounded almost like it was saying they would increase a pools hash rate but not increase the chances of finding a block at all.

I think i saw that also. It was about the S9

Why does btc.com have the Kano Pool at only 19.24Ph/s? All the other stats look correct, but that stood out as odd.

They report based on "effective" hash rate i.e. blocks found per whatever is their reference time. Add in bad luck, and the numbers are such...

It took all my farm animals and damn near lost my dog and wife but we finally appeased the chain gods!

When I saw that block I instantly thought of you poor wife.... Wink

I was glad to hear he did not have to sacrifice his dog.  A good dog is hard to replace.  Wink

Thanks for all your work, Kano!

Variance is always horrible, but good that it evens out in the long run.

The problem with such variance during huge difficulty increases is, while you may even out luck wise in the long run, you don't BTC wise.  That's about 7 days - half the difficulty period - when there were no blocks. Sad

We're approaching a 20% increase in difficulty in < 24 hours.

Though I probably shouldn't point it out and jynx us all, but, the last 500 block luck is actually still over 100% including these 2 nightmares ...
The 1000 block luck drops down to 96% since that currently includes last December, but since the beginning, we're still over 100% also.
OK I'll shut up now and get back to working on fixing things up for this new verification code ...

We will see whether the 'luck' is correlated with hash rate in this pool...
