Cool.

There is no merged mining - no alt coins attached to the pool in any way.
This has the advantage of only having to depend on the uᴉoɔʇᴉq blockchain and bitcoind without having other old/unsupported or otherwise, blockchain code running on the pool.

Like most things BTC, now I have a whole new set of questions to google around - such as uᴉoɔʇᴉq blockchain and bitcoind.

EDIT: I'm an idiot. "uᴉoɔʇᴉq" is simply bitcoin upside down ...

You sir just made my day :0  Cheesy Cheesy

I got a chuckle out of this as well Grin

For anyone looking for a good time to consolidate their coins, now would be the time. Actually the last few days were better but its still possible to get larger, low fee transactions through. The mempool is still low but looks like its starting to rise again.

Short question:
Can anybody post a link to a information page about this maybe upcoming bitcoin fork on 21st july?
Or did you guys discuss this in earlier postings here?

Will this affect mining on kano.is in any way?

Or is it not worthy talking bout it?  Grin

Most probably something at your end i.e. your connectivity to the nodes you are mining to.
NYA hash rate has been fine, as has the main stratum.

If they were the cause, it would be affecting ~55PH of miners Smiley
NYA + LosAngeles+SiliconValley is ~55PH

0.44% isn't catastrophic - the pool average is 0.31% at the moment
Check on your workers page and click on the checkbox to see what the main cause is.
Aside: if it's "hi" then that's the miner's fault, but it will have no effect on your reward.

P.S. remove some of that 100 cubits of blank space in your post please Smiley

P.P.S I get 1.24% Smiley

Ok thanks guy.  I wanted to ask if there was anything on the poolside before going extra fine tooth on trying to find the cause on my end and if its at the miners. My home network or internet connection.

I happened to shut my 1 S7 down cause its going to be a bit hot out today and I wanted to tidy up the spot on the rack that it at. But while it was down all my hash rates for my other 3 workers are now looking more normal on the worker's page again. So its looking like whatever the cause the s7 had to be screwing something up with my network connection.

911 IT Admin. I keep 911 up so you get help ASAP!
...
That reminds of a question I wanted to ask you Kano.  When will you open an Ethereum Pool for us?  Lol.  Tongue
Probably never, I hate being part of a scam - in any way at all.
... and I certainly don't want to make any money out of a scam.
I've yet to find an alt-coin that isn't ... if you think it isn't, it just means you don't know enough about the coin Smiley

It might be a scam, but I can make $300 plus a week with a few video cards and minimal power currently, so I'll continue to mine and sell it for BTC while its worth money.

Kano, I m wondering.  Are there any issues with connectivity with the pool in the last few days???

esp at  stratum+tcp://nya.kano.is:3333 & stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:3333     My hash rate on the shift chart has been real low and really choppy for the last few days and Im noticing I'm getting a lot of fall overs and what seems like a real high reject rate and on my worker's page on the pool its also showing 0.440% invalids.   my average has rate has been around 46 th/s  and now its bouncing around and fluctuating and only getting up to about 40-41th range the last 2 days even tho on my end all my rigs are showing they are hashing at their normal rates.

Something just seems off and not right. and I can seem to find anything on my end that could be the cause of my hash being all over the place the last few days. esp when it seems on this that all 4 of my rigs are running at their normal speeds.     I even noticed a few times I was showing on my workers page were some shares were taking a few mins per share instead of seconds then I would notice that they fell over to the 2nd fall over on kano and then fell over to my 3rd with goes to ant poo if it can't connect at all to kano.is. and when I go and look at look at antpoo their little graph is showing that just since last night I had 6 fall overs to ant poo and have 6 spikes in the graph were its shows I was mining there for a few mins each time.    So it seems as if its some sort of connectivity issue.

Even tho till this weekend and esp after the server restart you did a few weeks ago my hash has been great and was pretty steady on the shift graph. but for a few days before that restart it was all over the place sort of like it has been for the last few days again.

Flick ETH!  I used to think I like ETC because I had a dream about building some SL empire in GTAV online by selling and building real estate meshes over the ERC20 token, but the ICOs have shown just how vulnerable the underlying tech is.  I guess I don't know if it has a mempool or what. It's just a bunch of IOUs that can be erased at the will of one person.

@Kano --> have you ever considered merge-mining? PPC isn't a scam.  It's dumb and has no purpose, except to trade for more BTC, but its founding seem legit in the 0.00223556 BTC worth of research (8 hours mining / 2 reading).

So it's finally cold enough here again to put on a heater ... so I (stupidly) decided to do just that.
After most of the day I thought ... hmmm I wonder how much power this thing is using, I probably should see if I can get one of the miners in the garage working again, and use that instead ...
Checks watt meter ... WTF? 1700W!

OK got my A741 all working 100% again, slowed the frequency down to 500, hacked the /etc/init.d/cgminer to use $fan-42 instead of $fan-100 ...
Not loud any more at all, ~5.2THs, and works well as a heater here in the lounge room Smiley
Woo! Less power also - just under 1000W - heater that pays for itself Smiley

I've done this before with earlier miners, but always had heat problems with the miners, or had to put them in the laundry due to the noise - so not as effective.
These settings work exceptionally well on the A741

Mine on Smiley

Edit: it's under 50dB (fan in the 20-25% range) most of the time, occasionally speeds the fan up to 32% (~58dB) and ever so rarely up a bit more (but it didn't while I was measuring it)
I forgot to say how to changed the frequency for anyone who doesn't know:

In advanced mode, on the "Status"->"CGMiner Configuration" page set "More Options" to "--avalon7-freq 500" (without the quotes)

Note that adjusting the frequency UP is a bad idea and when you change the frequency, it's in steps of 12
e.g. 500, 488, 476, ... etc
