Canaan contact?

Over the last year I have been slowly growing my setup from a single S9 to 4 S9's and an R4.  With the latest rise in altcoins and bitcoin, I decided it was time to take a larger step growing this.  I picked up a couple more S9's (due in August) and decided to diversify (or attempt to) by purchasing 3 A741's.  So last Tuesday I ordered the hardware and they sent me the email with their banking info.  As recommended, I replied and asked to pay in bitcoin.  Nothing for a day, then I was told by Jasmine that Lily would help when he was in.  That was 5 days ago and we have watched bitcoin drop and recover.  Now the 13 hour time zone difference doesn't help but I figure 5 days is patient enough.  Not impressed but I haven't given up yet.

Does anyone have an email contact that I can reach out to and see what the hold up is?  PM me if you don't want to post it here since it is kind of off-topic. Smiley

Thanks,
Rick..

Question for US miners, I have a unused 20 Amp double pole breaker in my panel.  I know it will provide 220V.  Any issues hooking up my miners to a circuit with 2 hots and a ground?

it should be good for  .80 x 20 x 240 = 3840 watts max

please note  the info below is to show gear that would be good with your power/circuit I do not know the sellers.

but the pdu is nice at that  price and he takes offers for it

When in doubt, get an inexpensive digital volt meter. Harbor Freight has them for 3 or 4 dollars. Measure across the poles you are planning on wiring up. If you get 220 or close to it then you know you have the right setup. My breaker box has the old "pushmatic" breakers. The configuration on my breaker box has the power from the electrical meter going to the two main breakers in a doublebreaker configuration at the top of the box. Those two main breakers each feed a separate power bar. You can draw 110 off of either of the two bars via pushmatic breakers attached to each bar. To draw 220 you have a doublebreaker just like the Main breakers. You tap off of both sides of the double breakers to get a properly breakered 220 volt line, often used for electric clothes dryers and whole house air conditioners. As stated earlier it is wise to use wiring and outlets made to fit 220 volt appliances so you cannot accidentally plug an 110 volt appliance into a 220 volt connection. The power cord for the miner power supply will probably need to be customized to fit the 220 volt outlet while maintaining the connector that fits into the power supply, which is the same for both 110 and 220 volt power supplies, at least in the USA. If you are not familiar with house wiring then it is wise to get the help of an electrician. There may be codes that require certain electrical boxes to be used when adding a circuit. I typically use metal junction boxes with a properly grounded safety ground going to the ground , not neutral, connections in the breaker box. Some cities have other ideas about what is safe, but I prefer a junction box that will not burn and is grounded so any short circuit will trip the breaker as it is supposed to.

Had some failover/failbacks a few minutes ago.
Half the miners to stratum.kano.is and all the miners to de.kano.is
The reason it's half of stratum.kano.is is coz it now lands on two servers, one in LA and one in Silicon Valley.
The LA one was the failover/failback.
All OK again, and as when this happens, it's just a failover and failback for the miners connected to the server involved.
Hash rate is back already.

The circuit is all ready wired to an outlet in the garage, for a 220V welder.  I was planning on wiring a new outlet in the house.  I understand that a 220 2 pole breaker uses 2 hots and the ground.  I guess what I'm asking is it OK to use that kind of circuit on the power supples for miners?  I know they will run on 220V.

If you already have an outlet you can prob just get a PDU that plugs into the 220v outlet.  But yes, the bitmain APW3 psu's take 2 hots and a ground.

That's how my three miners operate (s4,s5,s7), two 110's and a ground. Standard datacenter wiring here in Central America. that way you can get 110v for 110v equipment (like fiber-copper media converters) and 220v for servers and well miners.

You need to check how is the breaker connected. are both poles hot or 1 is hot with the other to neutral? Normally it should be 1 hot and 1 N and both switches are connected externally. if your hot input is 110v, than you have 110v output too, plus N of course.

this is viable  as the inside of the breaker box  can be such that one of the   2 hot bars  may  be shorter then the other.

let me see if I can find a photo

I've got two new 741s that have been stuck in Memphis hub since Wednesday, "Available for clearance." Did POTUS forget to hire CBP folks?  Kiss

Another FedEx International snafu I presume...I cringe every time they are involved in shipping equipment from the far east.  I wish Canaan would give us a choice to use UPS to the USA.  I've never had any issues with them.

I have been using DHL when ordering from Bitmain and they seem to do a fairly decent job.

I agree. Always use DHL, very professional, customer support is great. They do not ship without making sure all necessary documents and clearances are available.

Heads up on scaling developments, worth to keep an eye on.

"NYA" will be signalled by miners supporting SegWit2x aka. "New York Agreement", starting on Monday 19.th of June (tomorrow). Estimate support is expected to breach 80%.

Plan foresees SegWit activation before August 1; at first, compatible with BIP141/SegWit and BIP148/UASF software, and then followed by incompatible hard fork to bigger (2MB) blocks 3 months after SegWit activation (expected somewhere in late November).
Guess I might be busy working on redoing all the bitcoinds on the pool some time soon again ...
Lucky I'm back home for now.

I run ... ... ... 13 (at the moment) bitcoinds on the pool itself ... and 4 more at home Smiley
