I was mining Bitcoin, how about you?  Tongue

Some nondescript anti-segwit pool run by an ass that finds me to be an ass.  Tongue

I just had some Jersey blueberries and Asparagus  from the pine barrens. Jersey Fresh.

Just has to help ease the blocked blocks and get them flowing again.

Good Lord! I wish all of this "speculating" about "you know what" will do this or that or the other would be moved to the "Speculation" thread where it belong, IMO.

I thought the pool thread should be used for the *here and now*, and blocks, and so-forth....
Just a simple miner's opinion....

Carry on with whatever you're doing.

I will not be putting Ford trasmission on it, I promise   Grin.
Well, that's what you're trying to do when you talk about "Segwit got activated on litecoin. Did anything drastic happened? No. The proof is in the pudding."
Yay for Litecoin, they have a C4 and it takes them down the road; this is Bitcoin, a C4 does not do the same thing here (here it sits on the ground because it will not bolt up the same and even if it did, this isn't Litecoin).

actually, you don't know whether it will work or not without fault in tx processing, so, again, irrelevant.
Your opinion on this matter is just an opinion, unless you can show us the future with and without it and provide a comparison.
No unrelated rhetorical examples.

...nonsense, you boys keep on dredging this panicky verbiage about Segwit for ages....
I'm not "dredging panicky verbiage" about anything, I'm saying that Bitcoin isn't CoinX and it doesn't matter what CoinX does. And even if it works awesome for CoinX, that doesn't mean that there's any reason to turn Bitcoin into a new algo of CoinX. No one rationally cares that x worked for CoinX and that's the reason Bitcoin should do x. Let CoinX do what CoinX does and either enjoy CoinX for CoinX or enjoy Bitcoin for Bitcoin.
I can put the same high (91) octane gas in both vehicles, can I? They will run just fine.
No, they will not because although the Chevy will "run just fine", it will not take you anywhere when all you have is a Ford transmission laying on the ground next to it.

A C4 transmission bolts up perfectly to a Ford 390, so that means it will bolt the same way onto a Chevy 390, right?  Roll Eyes

thank you.

Your wordsmith vehicular example does not clear up anything. Irrelevant.
I can put the same high (91) octane gas in both vehicles, can I? They will run just fine.
Both of you have no clue what the results would be, but here you are, pronouncing almost a calamity upon some software code activation.

The strangest thing, I am not even a segwit proponent. However, when someone pronounce emphatically that it would be a death of bla bla, I tend to disagree. I might even like it activating and therefore putting Jihan in a pickle.

Segwit = death to BTC

Without any explanation, this is just an opinion that you keep repeating without going into any details.
As a non-programmer, i might not able to grasp specifics, but what is your opinion based on?
Segwit got activated on litecoin. Did anything drastic happened? No. The proof is in the pudding.
Miners (myself included) like to collect huge fees, but people will reject this situation eventually.
Segwit got controversial for a few reasons (one being Bitmain opposing it) and this controversy (and split) might be a death to bitcoin, NOT the software itself.
As far as whether it (Segwit) should be activated or not, I have no opinion as I cannot properly review the software, I'll give you that.

911 IT Admin. I keep 911 up so you get help ASAP!
... a simple point to resolve that this thread seems to every other day become half a page of quotes of (the same) posts I keep deleting ...
I'll now start deleting replies to those posts also ...
They're pointless since it's page after page of the same thing over and over again.

Meanwhile Smiley
Iceland ... nice place, hideously expensive Tongue Everything is literally twice the price of just about anywhere else on the planet ...

That is because all the extremely cheap geothermal power there that houses huge bitcoin farms, so the people that have those are super rich. Anyone visiting gets visitor prices, all the locals get stuff half the price Smiley
