Little concerned... the api earnings are not matching up to my earnings today... looks like today will be one of the lowest payed days in a while....

hmq1725 is broke need to disable it for now..

Im currently only mining equihash, skein, and blake2s as my rotation

equihash i find doesnt perform that well so i have it disabled myself.. (although since zen got added its been doing pretty well could be worth leaving enabled)

skein i also have disabled

blake2s has tanked in price last 48hours as it got added to "nicehash"

i run -Algorithm hmq1725,groestl,timetravel,sib,bitcore,x17,blakecoin,Nist5,MyriadGroestl,Lyra2RE2,neoscrypt,blake2s

hi crackfoo is hmq1725 algud at your end reporting very low hash rate on pool..

Regards
Nemo

still having problems with hmq1725 crackfoo

I restarted it a couple hours ago... don't really see much on poolside error wise...

you may want to add more algos so you have more options.. as blake2s has tanked in price last 48hours as it got added to "nicehash"

Thanks guy, looks like a good start to add to the multi algo page. I'll work on that next week when I get back.

Ah, thanks for the info on stats.

And finding info on the PF is one of the steps to take in understanding the concepts.  I've been mining for a while without knowing this info, but now I want to know more - learn to do better.  In order to tinker and fiddle, I wanted to understand how to set those PFs.  Now I do, and I want to share that info.

The problem is it seems a few do know and have info (like this) in this thread somewhere.  Then it gets burried.  Search may or may not unearth it, depending on the search terms you use.  Since the pool owner has a nice area where advanced info is posted on his website, I'd say please include info on the PF.  I'd even say it makes a good subsection of the Multi-Algo switching area, where you already have the bench and stats info (because this is what you need to determine your PF anyways).

I understand I was in your shoes not that long ago.  The response I got from crackfoo is he doesn't do Multi-algo so he didn't really have much information to offer to me.  I've since figured it out through various posts in this thread and just playing with the settings.

For example if you include decred in your password string it will not allow you to do a custom fixed difficulty with the d=XXX option.  Crackfoo said he's tried to get it fixed a couple of times, but it is still a problem.

Also it can be really difficult to know if the multi-algo process is actually working the way that you intend.  Part of the issue is that many coins take multiple days to mature and confirm that your returns will likely look low for the first few days at least.  It should balance out in time, but I would not look to the first 3 days for averages of your earnings unless you avoid the algorithms with long maturing coins.  Netko on Nist5 seems to be the worst offender in delayed payouts.

Stats is documented here:
http://zpool.ca/site/benchmarks

Which the benchmarks at the top can also be used to get a decent profitability factor for the multialgo by looking up your GPU type and seeing what miner the person used and what hash rate they were getting.  Ultimately though you'd want to do your own benchmarking.

Ultimately though I wouldn't recommend anyone do Multi-algo unless they understand the concepts that affect all mining.  There is a lot of tinkering and fiddling that goes with getting it working well.  Things that are going to be unique to your setup and people aren't always going to have a clear and concise answer on how to fix the problems that you might be seeing.

Also I noticed a ",stats" in the password field.  I haven't seen this documented anywhere.  Just guessing, but does that send statistic info (miner used, version, speed, etc) to your pool?

Lots of hidden gems that need to be documented somewhere.  This is a nice pool, but it's not the easiest to figure out for anything but just point-and-mine.

Crackfoo, if you want, you can just copy paste this to your site so you don't have to worry about typing up a whole essay yourself.

Anyone can format it, give credit, make corrections, etc.

The Profitability Factor (PF) is used to determine which is the best algo to mine for profitability based on your hardware.  You can think of the PF as the speed at which your particular miner can mine.  This will let the pool decide what is the most profitable algo to mine for you.

This helps because what's profitable for an AMD GPU may not be profitable for a nVidia GPU (and vice versa).

Here's what you need to keep in mind when determining your PF numbers:
PF numbers are in MH/s for most algos.
For SHA256 and blake algos, they are in GH/s.
For equihash, it's kSol/s

How to determine your PF number:
Use whatever miner, options, arguments, syntax (etc) you normally would for each algo.
Example:
ccminer -r 0 -a x13 -i 17.5 -o stratum+tcp://x13.mine.zpool.ca:3633 -u 1MkmBHDjonAFXui6JEx9ZmEemfMtUo9Cmu -p c=BTC,x13

Mine for a few minutes so the miner can get up to a stable speed.  This speed is what you will use for your PF number.

You will have to repeat this for each algo you wish to mine.

Some PF numbers determined by JaredKaragen:

As you can see, depending on the make/model, factory overclock, your own over/under clock/voltage, temperatures, and even the specific miner program and version, your speed can be wildly different.  This is why you could better fine tune the PF numbers yourself.

Can you include some kind of tutorial on how to set the profitability factors on your website?  Most people won't find the info in this thread since it's so huge now.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.19010061

Would go great in your "Links" section, which already include useful stuff like API, Difficulty, Benchmarks, and Algo Switching.  A section on "how to set profitability factors" would be nice.

Thanks.

SOMe day I guess but it's been mentioned and discussed in this thread a few times now...

Correct.  That's precisely the problem - it's been discussed in this thread a few times, making it hard to search for the info.  I've been mining at zpool for a while now, and only now do I have a slight idea on how to implement it based on the info spread all over this thread.

I'm away travelling until Sunday. Will try and give the hmq stratum a bump and see it that improves.

hi crackfoo is hmq1725 algud at your end reporting very low hash rate on pool..

Regards
Nemo

i had the same issue.  investigating it i found that my miners were stuck in a low dif stratum roll and couldnt put in anything but a whole bunch of tiny
stratum shares like blake2s was doing.  i have been watching it and 129 miners and only 79 mhs means to me like its doing it to a lot of miners.

I see the same thing.  Miner says 15.4 MH/s (2x GTX 1080 Ti) but pool says 112 kh/s.

I have 22-25% rejects on miner with equihash, using claymore on amd, it started when ZEN was added to the pool, anyone experiencing same problems?
I also get a lot of rejects (actually the graph just fills) with Alexis miner and moved to other algos. Tried the setup on nicehash and didn't get a single reject.

yeah I use nicehash as well and no rejects. Not sure if this is something that can be fixed poolside...

https://pasteboard.co/jZAzzqwS.png

Well, I'm talking like95% rejects on some of the workers. As it happened when you were adding Zen and it appeared to be fixed, I left some of the workers on equihash, but then it climbed again. I'll try again and give you screenshot so you can see the time too.

Looks like Electra updated their wallet to try and resolve their blockchain issue.  Any plans to try and recover something from it?

Just for my understanding... Are we saying it's a bad idea to set autoexchange currency to BTC because it costs more in transfer fees?

If I did set my payout currency to, say, DGB, would that not imply more transaction fees as the pool would have to square the balances against a large currency first before exchanging them to DGB?

No I was mistaken.  The pool pays the transfer fees on payout.
