I personally don't owe anyone a duty to let them know what I'm doing or not doing in this context. What difference does it even make in the first place? Will they support me financially in gambling or they will wish me well? Will there wish even translate to the outcome of the game?

Apart from my partner that I practically discus most of my life issues with, I'm a reserved person and unless its necessary, I don't even share my work outing with a regular person and gambling is totally out of the equation.

Privatization of gambling is very important because gambling is known as a bad addiction and cannot be accepted as a good thing in society and family because gambling destroys people's financial condition. So gambling should always be done as fun and this matter should always be kept secret so that no one knows about your gambling.  You will never be blamed by your family and you will be known as an innocent person in the eyes of the society.

What about people who go to offline casinos then? They seems to care little about privacy, as security cameras are all around. Or people who place bets using mobile while being on the sports event. They dont hide mobile screens, and with enough luck, anyone could observe what they do. Providers knows every time someone enters a gambling page.

When people try to keep their gambling habit as a secret, I think they do it because they are afraid of shy to give honest answer how much they have won or lost if they are asked. Otherwise I see no reason why to keep it in a secret. If someone asks me if I gamble, I would tell yes. If I find out or know that someone gambles, my attitude wont change a bit towards him. It is his business and adult can do everything he wants.

Every gambler wants to maintain privacy while gambling. He tries not to let anyone else know about his gambling. There are many reasons for this. In public I have seen many people who do not like gambling but when I come to know about their gambling they open up to me about concealment of gambling for various reasons. I initially shared my gambling with everyone but it had a huge negative impact on my gambling life. I learned from there and tried to keep gambling matters under wraps as much as I could. Online gambling platforms have been able to keep such secrets from gamblers. If gambling can be conducted without knowing anyone I think it is better to do so. After all, if there is a big problem due to different information, then it is not bad to inform a specific person.

It helps if you know someone who can give you advise that will be beneficial with your gambling participation, sometimes we do listen to a person who we do respect well, though it depends from the level of your addiction, if you are really deeply engage there's no way that you will listen but instead you just wanted to keep your gambling without any hesitation.


Yes, if you have that capabilities, then it's good for you to keep your gambling as discreet as possible, but if you can't handle the pressure better to let someone to know and alarm you if you are already been engage too much.


Same with you, if you can't control then it's better to speak up and ask for some advise it may boost yourself to keep yourself away from gambling, but still depending from how a person treats his gambling activities.

As long you are on such moderation then it would really be just that fine and it would really be tha a simple approach or reaction on which your husband would really be having in telling that you've been doing gambling.If its that just inside the family when it comes to information in regarding about these activities then it would be normal that there would really be those kind of reactions but since
you are really that in still on the control then i dont see any problems to it. As for hiding yourself into other peoples awareness in regarding about your gambling habit then it would be normal
because we do know and seen on how this community do sees about negative towards gambling activity.

Like you, in truth, no one knows that I gamble, and if anyone does, it's only my husband and no one else, and what he knows is that I rarely gamble. And what you said is also true: that the only beauty of online gambling is that, as a gambler, you or we are private gamblers that only we really know.

Yes, it is really advisable to keep your gambling habits a secret since there are a lot of judgmental people out there. Some people have a bad perception when they see someone gamble; some see gamblers as people who are addicted to it and have no direction in life; and some see gambling as a sin since gambling is connected with greed, which is one of the deadly sins. 

But if you are a responsible gambler and not addicted, then keeping it secret may not be an option for you. I mean, we really don't need to listen to what others say to us, but we still need to be careful since this can be used against us. 
Overall, everyone has different opinions about this topic since it is very broad. But if you do what suits you, as long as you are a wise gambler and don't waste your life gambling, then you are good to go.

However, keeping gambling habits a secret is indeed more advisable because overall gambling has a negative point of view in the eyes of society but that does not mean you have to keep it a secret from everyone including those closest to you, one of the reasons is as you said above that sometimes we really need someone to help advise us especially when we are dominated by emotions due to defeat, and in my opinion there is nothing wrong if you tell one of your closest friends about your gambling habits.

There are also benefits like what you mean here where we sometimes need advice from them to keep us from doing some out of control actions when the situation is hot due to defeat, so keeping your gambling habits a secret is good but the point is that I don't think you need to keep it a secret to everyone and as I suggested above that there is nothing wrong with you telling one of your closest friends who play or spend time with you more often in your daily life, And as for the issue of whether you gamble too much or not, I still think telling one of your real friends is advisable because after all there is a possibility for someone to go further in gambling over time even if they were previously a moderate gambler.

It’s may not really be necessary to tell someone about your gambling habit and how far you are being addicted and gambling but sometimes it’s also necessary because you need someone to really really advise you very well, you may be dying on silent because of your loss and the shame That it has brought to you because of your lost. You may look like a disappointment, but keep a secret may not really be a good idea to me if I am to advice no one should have a secret unless you are organized very well you don’t over gamble you are not addicted  And you have a particular person of money which is no more than 5% that you are gambling because it’s just like normal money that you can also do for normal expenses. It’s not something that will upset you or keep you on emotion if you lose it it’s money that you can’t afford to lose in the situation. You can keep a secret, but if you are over gambling taking a lot of money, put in gambling, it may not be necessary for you  to keep it secret you just have to speak out so people can talk with you and tell you what to do and share opinions

One of the advantages of online gambling is privacy so it is not wrong as you have noted to keep our gambling private. I am an introvert and I feel so relaxed and comfortable when I gamble online because nobody knows when I win or lose and even the amount I use in gambling. I agree with you on your statement. If you can gamble responsible, and have self control over your gambling activities, there is no point of letting anyone know if you want it to be private. If your spouse does not like gambling, it is better that you open up to her, so that she does not funds out herself, and get disappointed. Apart from your life partner, I don't think anyone needs to know that you gamble if you don't want them to.

However, if the gambler cannot control himself in his gambling activities, there is no point hiding it because it will be impossible to hide it for a long time. This is because he will always get broke and will not be able to take care of his responsibilities anymore, which will lead to exposing him as a gambler from his actions. A kind of caring gestures that wanted to remind us, if that can be take as positive criticizm maybe yes it can help but most of the time, that kind of a judgemental mentality hurt the feelings of a person who are involve into gambling, they just wanted stay away when they know that whatever words they've heard implies that they are being judge badly becuase they are involve in gambling, not many can take  a positive criticizm but most are not.

They will not listen and most of them will avoid communicating as they don't want any confrontations.

Yes for the initial stage it may be as you said that their first decision is to sell something or something valuable that they have, whatever it is, it can be property, vehicles or even mortgaging their own residence and when they have run out of all the valuable things they have to sell then it is clear as I said above that most likely the decision that is in mind at that time is "borrowing" by saying various things that they think can make other people believe so that they can get the loan.

However this is their stage or journey to enter the destruction of life in various aspects, financial problems are already a certain thing they experience and not only that, the destruction of family relationships such as divorce and also have problems with some friends as a result of borrowed money that is not paid back, all of these are possible impacts that they will experience which ultimately leads to a significant situation of regret, regret will always be there but they are too late and there is no other way but to accept the facts of the situation due to treating gambling in the wrong way.

While it is a fact that gambling is an activity for entertainment or fun when you have some boring free time, this activity should not be taken seriously and also you should be able to raise and maintain your consciousness when you are running a session, not least because gambling is an activity that can stimulate the nerves in the brain because there are so many things that look tempting which usually in some cases make gamblers lose consciousness and go down the wrong path. One of the reasons why gambling is more recommended for entertainment and should not be taken seriously is for the simple reason that you will never know about the outcome at the end of the session, everything is always about "probability" meaning you might win or lose, so putting your hopes on winning is foolish, because it will only make you end up with a lot of regrets.

On the other hand gambling is not an activity that can be learned, so in my opinion even if you improve your analysis and skills it can never guarantee you to always win at the end of the session but maybe it can slightly increase the chances, so doing and improving something to "improve" in the hope of getting more wins will not fully affect, but in the end gambling is a secretive activity and cannot be predicted 100% accurately.

Sometimes people cannot be bothered in the eyes of others by criticizing them or speaking badly about them, because we are people who make mistakes, I am very closed when it comes to judging someone, because in part not judging anyone is because one as a person There should not be so many faults, errors or things that condemn us, what happened to the man who sold all his land leaving his family with nothing and wandering the streets, sadly this happened to him because he did not know how to control his emotions, ourselves During the game, emotions make us think and do things that we shouldn't and we let ourselves be carried away by all the impulses and in the casino things will always go in favor of the casino, because they always have the house advantage, and that is what Addicted players forget, because the addicted player always has the option of winning in their mind, it is very positive, what they do wrong is that they cannot control their own capital.

I don't agree with the word judgment. but it's more appropriate to criticize. The fact is that whether you are a relative or friend, you will definitely view gambling activities as bad. So when we find out that we are doing this activity, we will definitely be criticized like the basic gamblers who always spend money. and other words.

If you judge more, don't gamble, because it can make you bankrupt. Yes, there is, but it seems that this applies to families who are very close to us and don't want us to fall into the world of gambling which is said to be misleading.

Or maybe they want to hide their activity because they have a judgemental family members or friends who always critisize them once they knew that they are doing gambling activity. you know? it can't be avoided especially nowadays, usually our elderly relatives are the ones who can judge us too much but once they are the ones who need financial help, they will also come to you.

I think this depends on human nature itself because sometimes there are people who are addicted to gambling places, but they can control that feeling and keep their addiction a secret from gambling places. At least gambling places can be used to find pleasure, even though they have a system that cannot guarantee profits for the players.
